Hugh Jackman said this Wolverine takes place PRE-Logan, meaning it's the same one from the Fox-Verse leading up to the events of Logan, where he is now much older in that film, as well as Charles now being frail and sick. Cause remember, in Logan, the X-Men were already dead, showing nothing but their tombstones, if I remember correctly. So they never showed any mutants dying. Deadpool & Wolverine might be the movie where they actually show those deaths happening, likely during the opening scene, hence cameos from some of the original X-Men actors. So it's directly connected to Logan but several years (perhaps even almost a decade) PRIOR to the events of Logan taking place.
EDIT: To those that are gonna question whether Hugh Jackman said any of this or not, go look up the interviews he's been in where he talks about why he chose to come back for Deadpool 3 after saying Logan would be his last time playing the character. Also, even if this Wolverine we're getting is a variant (which it most likely is), who tf cares? It doesn't really matter which version it is as long as we're getting Wolverine and Deadpool together, in the MCU. It's not that serious, guys! 🤷

@@yudhazacharias9377 That's IF they choose to go that direction with him. The only way for that to work is if they establish that Kang murdered his universe's X-Men, I don't see them giving Wolverine that kind of treatment.

I LOVED THIS TRAILER! I was surprised there was no real build up to revealing Wolverine but it was amazing to see them together. That final shot is EVERYTHING! I wonder if Doctor Strange or Wong are showing up. That looked liked a very familiar portal. It looks like a complete blast. July 26th can’t come soon enough!
I'm sure it's wong. If you notice, they CGI the portal so it didn't show what was on the other side in the trailer.
