i mean studio series starscream is legit a upscaled deluxe figure bayverse optimus has tf prime optimus's upper transformations and evasion mode prime's leg transformation bumblebee is legit just a TLK figure with remolded parts

Ectotron isn't a full retool of a combiner wars figure, but he does share some parts with the combiner wars Hot Spot/Onslught mold.
This is actually based off of the transformation of the Combiner Wars Hotspot. Also I really hope Hasbro Releases a Ghostbusters 2 Ecto-1A Ectotron. But give him the grey uniform color & give him an option to have a Slime Blower

Now that you mentioned it, he really does look like a CW retool. That shin shrink and head foldy downy in the transformation is defo from someone in that line...years later the retools are still haunting us😶

I have CW Onslaught and I can confirm that Ectotron uses much of Onslaught's engineering, which I actually like because it's a mold that I really love

As for the windows, for some reason most ecto-1 creations seem to miss that they were tinted with a stripe that isn't along the center of the window. They could have made the windows dark on both versions. I don't know why it's necessary to put the tube of the proton pack as the antenna. It looks weird with that thick hose there, but otherwise it's a nice figure. The comic inclusion is great.
absolutely loved the video man, keep up your amazing channel as really love what you do. I'm defiantly going to track one of these down as I'm a massive fan of both Transformers and Ghostbusters. Like you I'm so keen for the movie, can't wait :-)
I recently reviewed this figure and it is just amazing! The deco on this figure is so much better than the original Ectotron and the inclusion of the comic book is a very nice touch. Anyway, great review as always PVP! Keep it up!

just got this and the Titans Ark yesterday and the first review I watched for the Ark the showcaser called it a pizza and the Teletraan one a COMPOOTER.

man so glad I was to get the new version a few moments ago from Amazon, right now these ones already double its price on ebay and even more, love the transformation of it really look like a true G1 transformation, the ECTO 1 mode looks so damn nice!
I'm not too big of a ghostbusters fan, but I liked the review cause it combined some of the best elements of a crossover and and transformers

The problem with this version is the price hike to $60 which isn't worth it. The only extras are Muncher and the comic book which doesn't equal another $20 added to the price. I could see if they did a better paint job to it but they half-assed it on the paint and I agree with you about the goggles /head sculpt. I did buy this figure because I missed out on the first version but ended up returning it because I would rather use that money towards my pre-orders of other figures I'm still waiting on.
This is a nice figure might pick it up if I can find it. Also great review!
Something I wished they did was change the colour of the blue cord to Black to make it more accurate and use a tainted clear plastic for the windows to make it look more dusty

Got this guy for Christmas. So badly want to open it but it looks really cool in the packaging,,,
The headsculpt on the first edition was my only problem with the figure. This new edition? It's perfect!
Luckily, local e-shop stocked him today (for first time and only one piece) so I ordered him the moment I've seen him.
Actually I have no problem with the windshields being clear as it is more clear in Afterlife, but on the original model, I wished it was the sort of half black line tint like in the og 1984 film

That's what a retool is, they share the same transformation.
@@goatnfrog1735 no, a retool is taking an already existing mold, and changing a few parts to make something new. For instance, Smokescreen is a retool of Prowl, with a new front part for the car. A figure sharing a few parts isn’t a retool, it’s just sharing a few parts.
I had to put a tiny bit of nail polish on the tab to keep his backpack in place on mine, his knees are also crazy loose - so I've has to floor polish his knees as well - so he's not a solid overall as Gigawatt - he's OK for what he is - though I think ideally the google should be raisable.
I hope we get a Deluxe sized version sometimes in the future. This mold is too large to be posed with Generations figures.
This figure looks great! Transformers should make Max's Imperator from Mad Max a Transformer! I think it will look very interesting and cool!

I have the original, my reason for that is the packaging is very eighties meaning Generation 1. And oh yes I do have two of them. One inbox and the other men lose complete.

They are remoulding SS ROTF Jetfire to become the Transformers/X-men crossover (guess that qualifies as Marvel)

Same I think the old packaging is way better I threw the new packaging away the moment I got mine out of the box but you get an extra ghost and a comic book for around the same price as the old one so it’s a win in my book

I have the original version of this figure. He’s not great, the QC is horrid, but I love him oh so much. 🥰
Could you tell me about what quality control issues you encountered with the original figure? I’m thinking of getting the first Ectotron, but I want to know if he has any glaring flaws.
BigBadToyStore has the original Ecto-1 on pre-order. I honestly prefer the original because of the paint job that it has. The rusting on the newer figure just doesn't look good.
Is this one going to be just as difficult to find as the first release? after all I've been hunting for the mine for two years almost! I have noticed the price tag for this one is higher than the first release. what's wrong Hasbro never heard of keeping the price down low. 20 would have been a nice price tag. That is still double the original price of an Autobot car back in the '80s and the 2000s. What's wrong the coronavirus got y'all's wallet screaming for money!

He's peg warming at my local Targets. I'm not that big of a fan of GB to pick it up. It's also too expensive for what one gets. The value just isn't there for someone not that big of a GB fan.
It will be one of those figures that raise their prices dramatically after they leave the shelves, specially after the incoming movie.

In the US I believe it’s exclusive to TARGET but for the rest of the world specialty shops only
So maybe it’s like leadfoot. Studio series leadfoot is a target exclusive but here in Canada I found him in toysrus.
