    Thank you so much, Alex, for this easy to follow demonstration. Your clear, step-by-step video gave me confidence that i could complete this repair on my machine, a late1990s Speed Queen "Commercial" model AA4411 that, despite being over 20 years old, was rarely used, in almost new condition -- except for a broken belt (probably due in part to dry rot, rather than wear from use ). The configuration of the pump was different (off to the right of the motor, using a separate belt between the pump and the motor shaft pulley), but the machinè was basically the same. Fortunately, my water pump was still in very good shape -- according to Speed Queen Parts the pumps for my machine are no longer made. But the water pump belts are available (on back order it took 3 weeks). So for $12 (+ $11 shipping) i was able to repair my washer, rather than have to pay a technician to perform something that was easily done after watching your video. Thanks again for all the help you give through your channel!

    My washer still works. My daughter says one day she smelled something burning. I took the front panel off and I can see the black residue around the bottom. The washer is now loud, unbalanced and doesn't spin as fast as it once did. Also the tension on the belt seems like its stretched out a bit. Any thoughts? Thanks for sharing.

      HELLO,
      It seems like the belt wore out. I ll get a new one. if the pump is a couple years old or older I ll replace it too.. The black residue is from the belt breaking apart. Make sure the 2" tension plastic wheel spins freely, if it does not replace it too. good luck. Let me know how it goes.

      Hello Loren I have 20 washers and 20 dryers to my service. Sometimes tenants open the door at mid cycle, they play with the outlet and cord. Sometimes they overloaded and remove the cloths and leave some water on it. Many times i see the washers with water on it and stopped. Since I don't know what happen I just start another cycle and 100 of the times the new cycle begins and ends fine. Just run another cycle. More that likely it will fix itself up. See you next video. • @alexthehandyman3494
      @alexthehandyman3494  2 роки тому

      Hello Joseph.
      It is a matter of opinion.
      DIRECT DRIVE
      is more expensive, less moving parts, less wear and tear, more rpms. Last longer. More expensive to service
      BELT DRIVE
      Cheaper the initial cost. Noisier. More vibrations.
      Easier and cheaper maintenance but more often.,
      What is it going to be?

    So the pump needed to be replaced due to an overloaded washing machine? Does not make sense! What does make sense is that the pump failed and the washing machine tried to spin the tub with a full tank of water and a comforter. This was a faulty pump that caused the problem, not an overload situation yet you blamed the tenant. I own a Property Management company and I'd say from the information you provided on the video that it was not the tenants fault but Speed Queens fault.
