I use cinnamon to seal cuts as well. Discovered it in Guam where I fell in love with plumies. Salvaged some cuttings in the wild and used cinnamon(only thing my daughter had on hand) to protect and harden them for their trip back home. Works great and smells good too!
The animals stay away from plumeria naturally. We took a cutting from my mom’s plant 22 years ago that is now 20’ tall and about 15’ wide. My kid makes forts inside it. (10b). It blooms from august- still blooming now. It starts to drop leaves usually in the spring for us. In our neighborhood every house has a giant plumeria. I have the classic white spray and we won a blue ribbon for it at the Orange County fair here in CA this year.
You can either force it to go dormant by putting it in the garage with no lights and don’t water it til the spring. Or in my case it will go in the greenhouse where it will start budding out and I will water it during the winter
My plumeria finally has a seed pod on it. It is about six feet tall. Is it alright to cut back the leaves on it withe the pod or should i leave it alone? I live in Rosenberg.

That’s awesome! I know a guy in Riverside and he says his are somewhat cold tolerant as well.
The plumeria you left in the pot, do you water it ? If you do, how often during the winter?

I would leave the one with pods on it alone if you can. It take as along time for those pods to fully develop as well
My two plumerias are already dropping there leaves for winter already.
Nice. Yea mine are putting on some last blooms. I keep them in the greenhouse so they don’t drop leaves for the most part.
@@texasgardenguy yeah i keep them in my balcony and we been getting some cool mornings so i think there reacting to that.
When I prune my plumerias they don't bloom next season. Pruned last winter & no blooms this year.
I feed mine Nelson Plant Food Plumeria Fertilizer every 2 weeks during the growing season. That has a lot to do with the growing and the blooms I get.
