- The seat belt reminder on the jeep wrangler is easy to disable. The seat belt alarm can be annoying sometimes on Jeeps. I show you in this video how to disable the chime reminder. Some people prefer the seat belt dinger and some don't. Just follow the instruction in the video to disabkle the seat belt buzzer

Thank you! I've needed this remedy for so long. I have to drive slowly on-site for work, getting in and out of my vehicle where the seat belt and it's chiming has become a nuisance. This works not only on my wrangler but the Grand Cherokee as well.

Thanks for the tip. Little POS been annoying me for a good while, almost caused an accident when I placed some stuff on the passenger seat and was driving on the freeway only to have the annoying chime came on. Rung for about 15 mins till I eventually pulled into a parking lot and buckled down the passenger side. In a fit of rage I tugged on it so many times with full force till the belt was all wrinkled and kind of loosen, not sure if that made it unusable but it sure was satisfying😂
They should create a volume up and volume down button for the seatbelt chime

I did this after my first offroad trip.
It drove me nuts for about an 1.5 HRS. Its been 3 years since the dinger has been turned off.

Man... this drives me mad!! I only just got my JL and my driveway is really short, the Jeep only just fits, in my old car I'd open the door and reverse on to the drive while hanging out the door so I could get it just one inch away from the wall. Tried driving my Wrangler with the door open and it took control and prevented me!! Must be a way to turn that safety feature off??

@@sabrinahernandez4306 You can disconnect your door harness, as if you were going to take the doors off, and just leave it disconnected. However, your interior lights won’t turn on when you open the door, and that’s a bummer at night.
All you have to do is buckle the seat belt. Do it before you get in, and it will let you (so you can drive up on ramps or whatever)
OMG! Our driver side seat belt is still working fine. We took it into our dealership, we paid $190 for a diagnosis and then they did nothing to fix it. I hope this works. We have a 2019 Jeep Compass. Hopefully it's valid for this too.
I need to try this on my jeep because my seatbelt is allways bucled and it still makes the noise

Seatbelt chime doesn't bother me. This is a good fix and will save some from buying a Tazer JL for a fix.
I'm going to get the TazerJL to reset my tire size and that Start/Stop button.
I've looked every where. Must say unbuckle 3 times. 2016 Patriot it's 4 times unbuckle. When cycling ignition switch to run.-----wait til instruments do self check. And the airbag light goes out then. 4 x buckle
Same as others, does not work on a 21 4XE Rubicon.

It worked on my jl 2018 but not on the 4xe. Do you have another solution?
He rebuckled the seatbelt 4 times and then when he drove away he still had the chime. I've been researching this for hours and here's what I've found- you only rebuckle the belt 3 times, not 4. Some people said after a couple of failures with the procedure they retracted the belt all the way between each rebuckle and that did the trick.
Driving habits can also set off the continuous chiming. If you do not secure your seatbelt within the first 10 seconds of starting the car that will fool the system into thinking you never buckled your seatbelt at all, when if fact you did, just not quickly enough. Another person found that if they pulled out way too much slack from the retractor before buckling it cause the sensor in the buckle to misread a successful insertion. When they pulled out just enough slack to buckle the belt, they did not get the chiming problem.
J Rubicon, Seeing that you asked your question 3 months ago, did you ever solve your problem (without going to a dealer) and if so, what can you add here to help us all?
Not sure why they can’t just put this in the manual like they used to. It’s been the same on Mopar for years

Hey Branden, thanks for the videos! They are awesome! Just wondering if you’ve come up with another hack to disable the auto shut down. I’ll leave my dog in the car when I’m running errands and want to leave the air going for more than 30 minutes. The only thing about unplugging the drivers door is then I lose all the controls from that door. Thanks!
I'm kinda late but an automatic clicker for the radio should work. It's a device that makes the vehicle think a human is operating the radio by either pressing a button with movement or turning a knob. It's used in video games all the time
Wonder if this works for all Chrysler products or just the Jeep 4xe? I guess I will have to try it out.

Hey Brandon, I just got a 23 4xe Rubi. cant get the chime to go after following your video. Tried both the driver and passenger sides 2x each. Any other tips or knowledge whether the override procedure no longer works on 23 4xe rubis?

@@SilverFoxCooking I finally bought a taser to turn off the seatbelt chime. A lot of other stuff on the taser has been really nice to have also, like killing the honks that bothered me almost as much as the seatbelt chime. I spent a year and a half with an annoying Jeep before spending $300 on a tazer to change the settings in a way that makes me enjoy driving a Jeep.

I just got an 05 f150,
I also have an 08 f150 and I've had several others the seatbelt chime in these trucks is the most annoying sound I've ever heard gives me a headache especially this 05 it's my work truck so I meant it a lot and I don't need to have my seatbelt on driving around people's yards or property not even on the highway or road..
Oops screwed up again many other methods that are on UA-cam and other places I've tried to disable the seatbelt chime in this truck and it hasn't worked the ones that's popular for Ford is with the brake on the key the headlights 9 or 10 times with the seat belt none of them ever have ever worked for this 2005 drives me crazy I happened to come across your video and I thought well what the hell it's 5 a.m. I should be inside and in bed sleeping anyway it worked the first time your method to turn the seatbelt chime off on very very happy about it you saved me a lot of headaches a lot of aggravation and a lot of ibuprofen thank you so much!!
