Japan is truly a beautiful and hard working country ... My greetings to the video maker who took me on a train to Japan in the southern city(Multan) of Pakistan
Thank you for your great video content. As you know, Seibu's Chichibu-Hanoi line will celebrate 50 year anniversary this year. This UA-cam is very impressive. Thank you!
Oh that is nice! I love that Train-Line. I am from Austria. We also have mountain railways here. They are a little different. But where they are maintained and improved throughout the years they still work greatly. I enjoy your video greatly! Thank you!
How did they bend so many rails to make these turns. Amazing. While serving in Korea in the 50's I had three R&Rs; Kobe, Kyoto, and Tokyo. Makes me homesick to go back.
Gidday, Digger. Mount Nebo, eh? Guess I'm "just down the road" from you (Logan Qld). Love yr trains, eh? And love Japan too, obviously. I've yet to get there. Thanks for serving in the armed forces. Not an easy stint.
That has got to e one of the most beautiful railway lines in the world, something that Japan can be really proud of. When the train pulled off onto the passing loop in the tunnel, I was almost expecting to see platforms for a subterranean station and was more than a little disappointed that there wasn't one.
Very scenic view! Thanks. My background is Forensic Engineering. I am curious to know, just beyond most platforms there is a turnout/switch with a couple meters of track and it dead ends. What is the purpose of that? They are put there for a reason.
Very interesting and scenic line to watch, thanks for producing this! Love to ride the railways when I visit Japan, will have to get out of the big cities to interesting spots like this sometime when I visit in the future.
Beautiful countryside is Japan. Loved the tunnels and train ride though it is slow and clumsy. Also would like to actually travel on one of these trains.
Spectacular scenery (and I find power lines interesting, too!). Perhaps this was originally built as transportation for those mountain villages, but I imagine its prime value now is for tourists.
Nice ride, smooth filming, - (even if one of the wheels sounded like it had a flat spot), I was fascinated how the bank retaining walls followed the contours of the hillside. All in all a nice video, - especially if you like tunnels, - mind you the landscape was attractive also.
It’s more enjoyable riding through the countryside and seeing trees rather than the suburbs and seeing housing blocks. Nice video. (Was that a little cat I saw at 26:50?) 🐨🇦🇺
Thanks for your comment. I think that little animal is probably a Tanuki( raccoon dog ). The Tanuki, a raccoon-like wild animal close to dogs, originally lived in East Asia, but is now expanding to Europe.
CT hitorikamonen : In all the Japanese cab rides I’ve watched, this is the only time I have seen any wildlife; apart from a white cat which ran across the tracks.
There are 2 things that I find odd about that line. One is the stub tracks that aren't long enough to even store a single car. The other is the position light signals like the Pennsylvania Railroad, especially since they have color light signals too.
1. The stub track is built with the idea that if a train runs out of control, it is better to hit a buffer stop than to be hit by another train. 2. Seibu Railway uses 5-light signals because there are lines that are crowded with many trains. Although it may not be necessary for the Seibu Chichibu Line, the signal system has been unified.
Wow. Crossing in Tunnel . Amazing!! Side line Stopage in a Tunnel. Japan !!! A Great Nation.👌👍👏👏 Love the Way , They Have Focused on Development , Development & Development only.
...it's better then rollercast, fantastic scenery. Whats wondering me, the huge amount of poles and cabling for the contact lines, I guess it has been a " salty" investment to build those line.. Best greetings from the Italian Alps- Gotthard Line
The clickety-clack almost sounds like a square wheel on one of the trucks. Or maybe it just reminds me of the same sounds that a train made in the 1950's in East Germany. Interesting that the station announcement is also in English. This doesn't seem like a touristy area. Though it is very picturesque and worthwhile seeing.
What's the gauge of this railway? Doesn't look to SG, is it meter gauge?....wonderful and scenic railway njoyed watching....hope someday I would be able to have a ride....
The gauge is 1067 mm, commonly named "Cape Gauge"; perhaps because one of its first applications was in Southern Africa (South Africa and neighboring countries.
Take a ~FUN~ ride on a Japanese train while you sit in your "Easy Chair" at home. And it's ~FREE~! As long as you pay your Internet bill. If you appreciate tunnels. THIS ride is for you! Enjoy. -Bill Howes.
This is wonderful ❤🚂❤️
Thank you for posting!
I’m a disabled woman who will never get to visit Japan so this is the next best thing❤
If my video has been a comfort or encouragement to you, that makes me happy.
Thank you for your comment.
Buenísimo...que hermosos paisajes ....gracias ...por verlos...
Is this a particularly special train? there seems to be an unusually high number of Denshaotaku there.
I'm astonished that anyone could build a railway in that beautiful, mountainous region.
This line and many others like it are really an engineering marvel
Interesting amount of equipment hanging around the track. Thanks for the video!
Wonderful trip! The clickity-clack of the rails is so soothing. Even the restricted view of mountain scenery is beautiful. Thanks!
Thank you for your comment.
Beautiful. That curve at the start seems to go on forever!

Thank you for posting this ride along. I really like all the track switches and all of the turns.
Always late at work guaranteed

Grazie per questo stupendo filmato. Quanta ricchezza di percorso.
Amazing ,JAPAN they have looping in tunnel also , simply wonderful
After seeing "Anohana" and the trains that leave, I looked for a video of this line. beautiful landscapes ❤
Menma!
Great video, just wonder what all those flashing yellow lights and speakers trackside are for, some flashing, some not.
This is sooo beautiful. I really hope to visit Japan one day soon.
A fascinating railway. Why are the catenary poles so heavy and so many of them?

The idea is that there is less damage caused by a train colliding with a buffer stop than by colliding with another train.

Thank you for your comment.
What a cool train ride. Scenery and the rail lines interesting construction. Reminds me of a Miyazaki movie. Would love to go there.
Welcome to Japan.
In this video, a "Tanuki" raccoondog, which is the theme of director Miyazaki's work, appears. The driver beeps a typhon.
That was a fantastic ride along ... Thanks

Nice view of leaving signals at the station. Aspects are self explanatory
the train still sounds like this, 7 years later..

Total journey is alongside with Hills and turn ,the wall they used to prevent landslides are very different 👍👍👍
Spectacular scenery (and I find power lines interesting, too!). Perhaps this was originally built as transportation for those mountain villages, but I imagine its prime value now is for tourists.
Limestone is mined around here, so this line used to carry cement long ago.
If the Wikipedia has it right, the line was a freight/commuter line to begin with, but freight handling ceased in 1996.
Beautiful scenery.

It's like a full-size model train layout.
In Japan, N scale (9mm) is more common than HO scale (16.5m), and the railway models are also smaller.
