Omg!!! When I was a kid my grandmother would make our Puerto Rican dish with green bananas. I had to peel the green bananas and my hands would turn black and sticky and my fingernails would hurt like hell after I peeled the green bananas. I miss those days, I wish my grandmother was still here with me.

I don't think Ugandans we are claiming monopoly on matoke, I have been to Rwanda and northern Tanzania they grow matoke. Even in Kenya, I have seen it in their markets.

Now I'm hungry Nicholas. I like this food a lot better than West African food. The caramelized burnt bottom is the best, it has all the concentration of flavor my family calls it Pegao or Pegado, I love when the bottom of the rice turns crispy Brown and flavorful.

    1:12 Avocado: A vegetable or a fruit?
    The answer is: It depends!
Culinarily speaking it is a vegetable. Specifically a fruit vegetable, just like Okra or Pumpkin.
Botanically it is a fruit or more specifically a berry. In Botany there is no such thing as a 'vegetable' but berry has a very specific definition. Not everything we call 'berry' is botanically a true berry. For example raspberries and strawberries are not berries but aggregate fruits while avocado, pumpkins, tomatoes and bananas are indeed berries.
It is wise not to mix technical terms from two different disciplines since they may have very different meanings.
