It is just so… awe inspiring…to know, that 2,000 years ago, SOMEONE, was standing in the same spot you are, touching the same building, it’s like a connection to those people. Thanks for the great video.

I truly appreciate this mini-documentary of Pompeii. It had allowed me to experience this place. Despite this was a virtual visit, I could still perceive the wavelengths of that tragedy, the pain, stress, desperation, and the overwhelming brink of death. I think that because of these, it is better if I never set foot in there. 😔

I honestly had no idea pompeii was so expansive. I have read where there is still a significant amount underground and I guess I assumed there were only a couple of buildings above ground for tourists. Absolutely amazing!

Agreed So much better than having some superfluous editing or distracting soundtrack To hear the background noise of nature along with the people walking among the ruins makes for much better immersion & point of view. It’s eerie and solemn It’s a historical marvel that gives us an unparalleled glimpse into history and how they lived in the ancient Roman empire. We must also remember the human tragedy. They were covered in volcanic ash and gases. We owe them respect as they suffered that day. The beneficial byproduct to the tragedy was it froze the city and preserved it for posterity. It is utterly amazing.
It’s amazing how advanced they were. They has fast food vendors and public baths. They lived better than most of humanity that followed the next 2000 years almost up until modern times. It is incredible and a captivating artifact of antiquity. I have been to Rome and Florence but wasn’t able to make it to Pompeii or Herculaneum. Have to go one day. Thanks for taking these wonderful videos and sharing them with everyone.

I went twice there ! I am from Greece ! Life in Greece before 50 years it used to be the same like the homes in the ruins in Pompeii
I am coming from a small village so i recall many things i saw in Pompeii with my grandparents home in a Greek village 50 years ago ! Its amazi g how lottle life changed for millenia and suddenly the last 50 years everything change in the south of europe !
    Great video of course

Same with Israel, my country. All the villages used to look like this and many still do. My grandparents lived in Kfar Giladi close to Lebanon before moving to Tel Aviv after the war, and all the buildings were built of stone in this style, just like this.

If I was an inhabitant of Pompeii a few months before the 79 A.D. eruption of Mt Vesuvius, and I heard unusually loud rumbling, would I have saved myself and all others by deserting the city? Most likely not because the people must have believed the volcano to be already extinct.

When I last visited Pompeii, there were some really cute and friendly stray dogs walking around the site. They sometimes walk with groups of tourists as if they're guiding you lmaoo. Our guide said Pompeii also had a lot of stray dogs back in the day, and you can think of the stray dogs as a common factor connecting the past and the present

I have been to Pompeii this April 2019 because it was one day before Easter huge crowds and many of the houses of interest were closed I wish to express my thanks for the wonderful videos that offered me the chances to see part of what I missed you need minimum 2 full days to see all if you are lucky and most houses are opened for visiting....:)

Hey, glad you enjoyed it. I have more of Pompeii to post up.... But... I'm getting quite a backlog of walks that need to get posted. Yeah, a crowded Pompeii is not as much fun.

on this particular walk, behind the forum is a building called the comitiumed edifici municipali, within that structure lies the house of geometrics. that is well worth looking at. The mosaics are brilliantly put together.
