You forgot to mention that with its small, rounded shape it actually sits quite well in one of the front pockets of your jeans - at least that's where I keep mine at all times. And I purchased it 40 years ago.
I've had a Space Pen for over twenty years. In fact, I had forgotten I even had one. So I located the pen, and lo and behold...it STILL works!! It truly had a 100 year shelf life!!
I’ve ordered a second one. Lost my first one a few years ago but kept it for around a decade. Although it’s expensive, it never ran out of ink in that time, so it’s such good value.
I have been in the military for over 13 years and have used the Write in the Rain pens (with fisher space pen ink cartridge) and their notebooks almost since the beginning. I can attest to the durability and longevity of the ink cartridges. I have written with them in the rain, sub-freezing temperatures, over 120 degree temperatures in the desert, etc. The pens are not as "grippy" or smooth as your standard gel ink pens, but there is nothing better when you need to write no matter what.
Great video on the fisher space pen. I’ve been using the fisher space pens since 1976 that’s 44 years. I’ve owned several models over the years and they’re all great. And yes I still use them to this day. They’re awesome pens. I have use them in -10° in a warehouse freezer doing inventory. And also in very wet conditions and the ink won’t run.
DANNY ASPIRAS It’s pretty awesome to see that you’ve been using the Fisher Space Pens for such a long time! It seems to be the trend with Fisher Space Pen owners. Interesting to see the application of using it in a freezer. Must have be cold! Reminds me of when I used to work on a Salmon Fishing Boat and had to work in the freezer hold freezing fish. Brrrrr! Thanks for watching and commenting. Much appreciated!
I’m on my second FS bullet, only because I lost the first one, and really love it. I love how they are small enough to fit in a pocket easily. I got one with a clip this last to time to keep it from constantly rolling around when you put it down.
Just got my second one in the mail. Bullet pen.love them, kinda getting a little cheap on the packaging, this one came in a blister pack. My first one was in a nice box.
You can just buy the Fisher refills for a few bucks and put them into most any ballpoint pen body, they even make a wide range of sizes and sell them with different adapters, including the really tiny thin D1 style cartridges (albiet with more limited specs), but most pens will accept the standard Fisher PR series refills
Bought mine ten years ago at the space center's gift shop, its the chrome bullet design with a little space shuttle on it. Its nice, but I do have to wipe the tip before I use it, otherwise it smudges.
Very cool and yes, same thing happens to me once in a while with the ink blotching after the initial use....I'm thinking this may happen since the cartridge is pressurized.
My dad has his space pen for I think around 30 years as a gift from my mom. He given my mom and I one recently as gifts. There's a anti-microbial space pen that's brass and doesn't the ridges on it.
I have several of the cap o matic version of the pen. I keep them in my brief case and while I keep a few cheap ones around, I don't really use them except maybe if I am lending one out to someone who asked if they can borrow a pen. the Fisher pens are mine.
It is the only pen I use at work. They don’t fade too badly when the sun shines on them either. Sunlight causes some ink disappear. When you work and write out doors, literally nothing compares. If the media you write on gets wet, dirty or greasy they still write adequately. They write on many plastics. SP’s hold a lot of ink and last quite some time (about the same as a Parker). The refill fits any pen using either a Fisher or Parker body, so choose your favorite pen style.
I bought one of these in 1992, it’s been 28 years, I still bring it to work! And the ink is still strong PS.Love your videos, first time watch your videos l subscribed it!
Sorry about the late reply! Just going through my comments and noticed I never replied to you :) I purchased my Fisher Space pen from Amazon, but I believe you can purchase it directly from their website. Thanks for watching and glad you like my videos!
I don't own a Space Pen per se, but I use the black pressurized refill for my Parker Jotter. A match made in heaven. The utilitarian nitrogen-filled cartridges are a true workhorse inside the wonderfully sexy (for a pen) steel barrel of the Jotter. Looks great, writes great, cost me like $20 at most since the Jotter was on sale when I found it on Amazon.
"$20 is expensive for a pen" The space pen is pretty much the BIC of non-disposable pens. Most people who carry a refillable pen will usually have something that's in the $70 range some $100. People who do a lot of writing at a desk, may have a $200-$500 pen. Then past that you get into the world of either antique or luxury pen collecting. These can go for thousands or millions of dollars.
Lol to this snobby and inaccurate comment! 😄This video is about a pen that writes UNDERWATER and at any angle, can be picked up after decades and still write with the same ink cartridge, folds down to fit in your trouser pocket without jabbing or leaking, AND has an elegant design. Good luck replicating all those features with an exorbitant fountain pen OR a Bic! 😂 A more Bic-like comparison for the amazing writing capabilities of the Fisher bullet space pen would be the compact disposable plastic Rite-in-Rain all-weather pocket pen with NON-refillable ink at 2 for $16, or the standard-sized uniball Power Tank with refillable pressurized ink at 20 for $20 (a steal!). For people who geek out on design, the uniball Power Tank is actually a pretty good-looking pen, but there's no doubt that the Fisher bullet's compactness, sleek metal form, and designed-for-space backstory have a cool factor that make it uniquely suited to ALL environments, from every day carry to boardroom!
@@bellaluce7088 I think you're adding meaning I didn't say. The video is saying $20 is expensive for a pen. I was saying in the world of expensive pens the space pen would be on the end of bics. I carry a space pen for hunting. They write on damp paper and the ink doesn't freeze.
Hey brother how's it going? I have a few fisher space pens and i absolutely love them. I work outside in Oregon weather which is often very wet and the pens work flawlessly especially with rite in the rain notepads and notebooks which are waterproof sweat proof and afcidentally laundered proof . They're equally as tough reliable and perform awesome in any condition greasy muddy wet ect. I really love the contractor's model its bright bright almost neon yellow and instead of a cap to lose it just clicks . I've had about all the models and none have let me down . I love em they really pass with flying stars in any field of construction as do the rite in the rain waterproof notebooks.
Hey bro, all good here in Vancouver! Nice to see a fellow West Coaster on my channel! That’s awesome that you like the Fisher Space pen. What line of work are you in? Not sure if you’ve seen the Sharpie Extreme marker, but that might be something for you as well if you work outdoors. Cheers
Fell in love on first use. Best ballpoint ever. It’s impossible for this to be GEL :( due to the ink in PR4 being very very very thick under high compression there’s a lot of ink in the little damn thing haha! I love it and I baby it haha If they used gel it would just squirt out like a water gun
I like how it can work in space and how astronauts would use this pen in order to write down their experiments in space which makes it really easy to have such a cool pen like this fisher space pen. It really is impressive, I would give it five stars for having to be the best space pen that can write in every condition. If there was an award show for having to make an amazing pen like this, I would say I'd vote toe fisher space pen for best space pen category. even when it is needed in movies as well.
I'm a retired journalist/editor also in Canada. Nothing worse than covering an event in -25C or lower, hence I always carried my Fisher and a pencil. Made all of my reporters carry pencils, and if they could afford it, a bullet.
I journal daily. I used a Fisher "Space Pen" for about a year. After about a year, I decided to read through what is written that year, and the ink on most of the page had faded so severely, that it looked more like dark umber, than the black it was supposed to be. If you're using it for strictly utilitarian purposes (grocery lists, work related writing, etc.), I'd recommend it, because it really can write through water and greasy surfaces. It seemed to write better on wet surfaces than it did on oily surfaces, but it did ok. However, if you plan on using it for any kind of writing you want to keep around, like writing that's sentimental (birthday card for the kids, journaling, captioning picture in a family photo album, etc.), I'd choose a different pen. The ink faded so severely and quickly, that it's be virtually indecipherable after three or four years. That is, of course, if the fading continues at the rate of observed in the first year of use. That was nearly 30 years ago, so maybe they've changed the ink formula. But, I wouldn't hold my breath. They're cool, but the ink just doesn't last long enough for any sentimental writing you want to keep and pass down to future generations
Very interesting as that's the first I've heard about the ink fading. It'd be interesting to hear from the folks at Fisher Space Pens to see if there's a reason why it fades or if it was a defect in the ink?
You can buy many different brands of pen to use these Fisher refills in. My new pen cost £72 the Rovvyvon Commander C10 and it takes parker refills, which when you buy a fisher refill it comes with a cap that makes it into Parker G2 size to be able to use the same refill in a TON of other pens. You can buy cheaper pens too, like a Parker Jotter to use that same refill and get those benefits.
@@EdTchoi I missed the delivery today :( But based on talking to the guy at the online store, asking questions and looking at a lot of images, I know I am going to love it.
Don't know why anyone would wanna write underwater but the other details like using it to writing on paper holding against the wall is something I did a few times because there wasn't a desk or table near by to use
I've owned a Fisher space pen for 20 years- plus and still carry one daily. I even gave one to each of my top 30 executives. Unfortunately, the only drawback has never been addressed. That is the sections that are pulled apart to change the ink cartridge rely on friction, they aren't screwed together. These will often come apart while writing, causing the spring and cartridge to fall out! Very frustrating for an otherwise great product!!!
If ynot spend $30 for the pen, buy the refill and use it in a Parker jotter ( there is an adapter to use the refill in Parker pens. This will save you half the price (refill $5--6 and pen $10)
That Model is made of CHROME plated brass NOT aluminum. It's NOT a roller ball but a ballpoint. Shelf life is 100 yrs., writing is approximately 2 miles. For aluminum check out the TREKKER series.
Wish I new about pens that could write underwater for my old job. I would have to write down all the names of gas cylinders in all types of weather including rain.
[Sunday November 1, 2020] you still use this pen? any other better pen that is good value for money that you recommend? and how often do you have to put in a new 'Fisher' re-fill?
I do still use the Fisher Space pen occasionally, however it's not my everyday pen. I;ve been using the Zebra X-701 lately, but I find it's blotching once in a while, so I'm now using a Pilot G-2 which seems to write well and suitable for note taking. I haven't refilled my Fisher Space pen and likely won't have to for a long time as I'm using it as a backup
@@EdTchoi if I want to get a pen that can write upside down (eg: while lying on one's back) or up against the wall - which is the pen you recommend? Apparently there is one brand named "Rite in the Rain" pen maker that is actually owned by Fisher Pens and uses Fisher refills. Those are the only two (Fisher, Rite in the Rain) I could find
@@rucidlivian7508 any pen that has a pressurized ink cartridge will work upside down. The Fisher Space pen is one of them (there's zero G in space which is why the ink cartridge is pressurized so that astronauts can use it in space - regular pens rely on gravity for the ink to come out) and the other pen that I've used with a pressurized ink cartridge is the Zebra X-701 military grade pen. I'm curious to know, what's your application where you need to write when you're on your back?
you forgot to test if it actually writes at any angle, can this pen actually write on a 10 or 20 degree angle with light pressure. how quickly does the pen write after unboxing it.
@@EdTchoi well i bought it and no it does not write at any angle it barely writes at a 35 degree angle and definitely cant write at a 25 degree angle if you test it with a triangular ruler with the degrees you can see for yourself. I have not tested other nibs other than the medium nib it came with. I am not trying to write upside down with it either
@@Mintzoid that’s interesting as the cartridge should be pressurized which should allows you to write at any angles. Perhaps it’s defective and the cartridge has lost pressure?
@@EdTchoi Idk. well I'd have to buy some to find out. Just by looking at the nib though it doesn't look like the kind of pen that can write at a 20 degree angle. I have only ever known brush pens and felt tip pens to be able to do that.
@@Mintzoid thanks and sorry it didn’t work. I’m assuming you hold your writing instrument at a steep angle? My apology as I originally thought you wanted to write on an angle where the pen is titled on vertical surface.
Tatsuhiro Satou Great question! Of the pens I’ve tested so far, the Zebra F-701 stainless steel pen gets my vote. It writes very nicely, looks very cool and above all, it’s super durable. My main philosophy when purchasing things is “buy it once” which means never buying something just because it’s cheap as you’ll probably end up having to replace it sooner than later. A funny saying I used to tell my customers is “Good no cheap, cheap no good”. Let me know what you end up purchasing! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Late to the party, but the stainless steel Parker Jotter with arrow clip is a classic for a reason. It's affordable yet elegant and durable, and comes with smooth and long-lasting Quink refills that are available in various widths in blue or black. It also takes Fisher pressurized ink should you need to write upside down or in the rain. : - )
I want so much to love this pen. It has a good hand feel, good weight, just plain looks sexy! However the ink is very blobby. I read about this before, with the suggestion that purchasing a new cartridge would not be blobby. Bought a new cartridge, it was blobby too. Ordinarily it would be a slight annoyance. However, being left-handed and dragging your finger through the wet blob, smears the page and your hand. Reminiscent of a poor quality Bic pen, they were blobby too. If you’re left handed, I would give this pen I miss. It makes a smeared mess on the page when used by a left handed person.
It is the Infinium model which has a shelf life of 80 years. Are you sure the pen which you showed now will last 100 years? Do let me know. Nice video especially the writing in water.
Did you mean the pen will last for 100 years or the refill? When I said Infinium will last 80 years, I meant the ink stored in the pen will last for 80 years.
@@kswaminathan5439 I think the pen would definitely last 100 years and I'm assuming the ink as it's totally sealed...then again, we probably won't be around to test this :)
The shelf life of the ink is 100 years on all the regular Fisher pens. Meaning it can sit for a 100 years and still write. The refill won’t last 100 years of regular use but the Infinium pen is guaranteed to write for life or they will replace it, no refill to replace on the Infinium.
I've only had the pleasure of using the Fisher Bullet, but I would say that in terms of writing, both would give similar results. At the end of the day, I think it would come down to personal preference. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for your suggestion. I tried using the pen slightly inverted on the easel pad, but you’re right, I probably have tried it on a more extreme upside down angle!
About 30 years too late to stop me from buying. Great style, smooth, small. Posted makes a full size pen. Always writes. Some great finishes.Amazon is fairly expensive seller for these, often you can save a couple of bucks or more, which is ten percent just by buying from fisher. Under thirty bucks for a bullet proof classic ? Guaranteed write anytime, anywhere ? Its a gold standard.
I always thought the bullet pen's design hadn't changed since its rollout, but i just compared my 1979 model with my 2018 model and there are significant differences: the older bullet has a separate tiny ring at the tip of the case (where the cartridge point emerges). the older bullet has much less machining on the lower case section, and the horizontal striations are crosscut with vertical ones, unlike on the newer bullet. The engraved info on the cap of the older bullet is also different. Unlike the newer model, the old bullet only says "pen by Fisher USA" instead of "space pen by Fisher USA" as on the new version. Also, the newer bullet is about 2mm longer than the older one when closed.
Thanks for the comparison! Are you still using your 1979 model? Very cool that you were able to compare the two versions side-by-side. It'd be cool to see a picture of both pens!
@@EdTchoi The 1979 model still has its original cartridge, and it still writes. However, the upper end of thecase has begun to split where the case screws together. Of course I have no intention of returning it to Fisher for free replacement . I keep it on display in its original plastic box. I also have a vintage AG-7 Fisher pen in its original box. That one is so old it doesn't even mention the moon. The illustration ( a color hand drawing, not a photo) on the glossy cardboard box is of an astronaut in Gemini-style spacesuit on an EVA while tethered to an Apollo command and service module that's orbiting earth. The documentation inside the box talks about the AG-7 being chosen by NASA for use in outer space by "our Apollo astronauts". Since the space pen first went up into space on Apollo 7 (an earth orbital mission) in October 1968 and the first moon landing was in July 1969, I suspect my AG-7 dates from late '68 or early '69, although I am unsure of when the AG-7 was first sold to the public, and whether the first version sold to the public had the side button (which mine does) , or if it had only the top button like the first AG-7 pens originally used by NASA. Edit: I just checked some reviews of new Ag-7 pens and discovered that my AG-7 is significantly different from ones sold today! My AG-7 has machining along the entire case, with vertical grooves on the upper case and half the lower case, while current AG-7 pens only have the lower case horizontal machining.
Adrian Luca Very cool that you’ve kept these pens all these years. You’ll have to open up a Fisher Space Pen museum soon! It’s awesome to see the pens last so long...speaks to how well they are made 😊
I have 2 space pens very slightly used, One 4-1/4 " long capped by 1/2" dia. Another 3-3/4" long capped by 3/8" dia . Beautiful pens. It's available for sale if anybody is interested. I have been collecting pens as a hobby.
. I have had three FS bullets for some years now. They write well, I personally prefer this ballpoint brand to others very well- known brands. The only downside I've found with the FS cartridges is that several of them often leave on the paper some ink smudges, so you have to be very careful with this problem, in order not to smear part of the text writen if you accidentally touch those smudges. In this video I've noticed those smudges in some letters written in the first text. Nevertheless, I'm happy owning my FS bullets, they're very nice !! .
Thanks for the feedback! Yes, there were a couple of times where that was a blotch of ink, but it doesn't seem to be happening as much now. I wonder if it's because it was new? The same thing happened on another pen that had a pressurized cartridge and I'm wondering if this is a common issue with them?
Thanks ! Well, I haven't had this issue with all the FS cartridges I've had, but yes with several of them. I've also read recently the reviuws of some people, stating they had had this same problem; one of them even was advised to try out the fine point cartridge, so he would sort this problem out. It isn't a big issue to me, because I consider it's a good product, the lines written are fine, I like the smoothness and the very dark tone of these refills, and so on ...
@@EdTchoi It is, it might even be the 68 version. I don’t have the packaging as I was young, Christmas and everything. Just got binned. My mom bought it me, she died in 1972 so even more precious. 👍🏻
I love going to restaurants and have to sign the receipt. They tell me I have to put something under the paper for the pen to write on the paper good. I just pull my pen out and sign my name. There face is like wtf? 🤣
My daughter have dozen kind of pens as she read in school and she is a pen lover and she was pleading me to buy this maybe i will buy her next time cuz she also had to finish the other pens. She is a great artist and many time i have seen she have used some pens to draw mainly BTS as everywhere is bts photo as u can see my profil pic. But i like the pen sooo sooo much 😊
Nice to see your daughter is a pen enthusiast! She may want to have a look at the friXion erasable pens as this would be a good tool for an artist. Thanks for watching my video!
Great question! The Fisher Space Pen has about 12,000 feet of ink (they use a write-out testing machine to determine this). Assuming you write about 6 feet a day, that would be equivalent to 2,000 days of continuous use or 5.5 years. This is of course based on ideal circumstances as the ink life may be shortened if you're a heavy writer or use absorbent paper. Thanks for watching and comment
Had to cancel my Amazon order today. After 3 weeks, I finally reached out, and the seller suggested I cancel the order as I should have had it by now. I am hesitant ordering online now.
@@EdTchoi it’s due to thicker ink than normal ballpoints because if too thin at a pressurized chamber it would leak through the ball so the ink has to be thicker under a pressurized load. Resulting in easier writing and long life as the ink is more concentrated
@@EdTchoi this is also why Gel Cannot Be Sustained under Pressure with a pen. It will bleed. Lol like it already does as is haha but way worse like the biggest sign poster sharpie you can find for industrial use
@@EdTchoi ok good that makes it more worth it. I mean it would be great if they found out how to make ink last a hundred years lol. Thanks for the review!
Not at all...I just wanted to give you all a good look at the pen before purchasing it to make sure that it would be a good purchase for you. Thanks for watching!
@@EdTchoi Hey thank you for your reply, I'm new to your channel. So I have a medium and a fine space pen cartage for my brass pen. A little background I've been using fountain pens as everyday pens for about 4 years. While I love them I'm finding more and more that they simply are not a convenient as having an always reliable ballpoint or roller-ball pen. My biggest issue is going places and the paper is so thin that the ink bleeds through. I started carrying my own thicker paper which solved the problem but then I was always carrying paper...so not convenient. I love brass not only for the look it gets when it ages but because of the antimicrobial self cleaning properties. Copper and bronze have this too. I found the wingback pen and decided that would make a great edc as the pen itself will outlast me, age with me and can be passed down. So I customized it with some wording. Being used to the deep flowing ink in a fountain pen I was worried about the ink. I ordered the space pen refills in medium and fine, didn't buy the bold. The medium is thicker then I'm used too but writes pretty smooth. The Fine is more the width I'm used to, but seems to drag a little more then I'm used too. That being said it is great to have a pen I can pull out and know it will just work no matter what. Are they as bold and smooth as a fountain or gel pen? No. Do they write well and serve the purpose they are intended? Yes. I use it for daily activities at work and school. I save my collection of fountain pens as an upgrade for special events or special writings. I'm overall happy. As a side note I have one of these bullet space pens and have to say the pen out of the entire space collection probably handles the worst. So if you want to experience the full glory of them, get one of the other models.
@@tophercaesar5375 great insight...thanks so much. I still haven't gotten into fountain pens, but I can see myself liking them, but I would agree that getting the right type of paper might be a pain which would not make it ideal as an EDC. On the side note of the bullet space pen, I've been noticing that it blotches once in a while and it's not as smooth as I would like it. I'm having similar issues with my Zebra X-701 which is also another pressurized pen. My theory is that the pressure increases the likelihood of blotching. Thanks again for taking the time and commenting as I appreciate the interaction. Cheers!
Sorry about the delay! I do find it blotches once in a while, so yes, it may smear for southpaws. I'd be curious to see which pen would be the best for you guys!
Couple of things the packaging being messed up has nothing to do with the company. If you had gone to a Fisher store and they handed it to you looking like that then I could understand but it could have gotten damaged in shipping or if you ordered it from Amazon we all know that they fucking suck at keeping things together also you called it a rollerball, but it's a ballpoint and there's a pretty big difference between those.
Good catch....can't believe I forgot to include the site! I've updated the description and it now includes the official site for Fisher Space Pen. Thanks for watching!
Definitely worth the $28 but who cares the ink shelf life is 100years? For me, I am lucky if I get 2 years out of one ink refill from use. Get real! haha

The utilitarian nitrogen-filled cartridges are a true workhorse inside the wonderfully sexy (for a pen) steel barrel of the Jotter. Looks great, writes great, cost me like $20 at most since the Jotter was on sale when I found it on Amazon.
I'll have to give the Jotter a try! Thanks for the comment!
Eduardo S. What is the space pen refill model number you used on the Jotter and if you had to modify it , how did you do it? Thank you
Well worth the money. My EDC pen for 16 years.
"$20 is expensive for a pen"
The space pen is pretty much the BIC of non-disposable pens. Most people who carry a refillable pen will usually have something that's in the $70 range some $100. People who do a lot of writing at a desk, may have a $200-$500 pen. Then past that you get into the world of either antique or luxury pen collecting. These can go for thousands or millions of dollars.
Hardcore Hunter thanks for the info! I’ll have to try out a premium pen one of these days so that I can feel the difference in quality
A more Bic-like comparison for the amazing writing capabilities of the Fisher bullet space pen would be the compact disposable plastic Rite-in-Rain all-weather pocket pen with NON-refillable ink at 2 for $16, or the standard-sized uniball Power Tank with refillable pressurized ink at 20 for $20 (a steal!).
Cheers

I love these pens. I have 4 because I use colors to classify my personal/work projects.
this is an old vid but i just have to say: I found the brushed chrome pen on a bus. Best find ever!!!!!
That’s an awesome find 👍🏼
Fell in love on first use. Best ballpoint ever. It’s impossible for this to be GEL :( due to the ink in PR4 being very very very thick under high compression there’s a lot of ink in the little damn thing haha! I love it and I baby it haha
If they used gel it would just squirt out like a water gun
I like how it can work in space and how astronauts would use this pen in order to write down their experiments in space which makes it really easy to have such a cool pen like this fisher space pen. It really is impressive, I would give it five stars for having to be the best space pen that can write in every condition. If there was an award show for having to make an amazing pen like this, I would say I'd vote toe fisher space pen for best space pen category. even when it is needed in movies as well.
Thanks for your comment and glad that you liked the Fisher Space pen! It's definitely pretty cool that astronauts use this pen.
A pencil does the same thing in space. After millions spent in research and development...the Russian astronauts use a pencil.
@@luisarellanorn3309 The Russians use crayons
I'm a retired journalist/editor also in Canada. Nothing worse than covering an event in -25C or lower, hence I always carried my Fisher and a pencil. Made all of my reporters carry pencils, and if they could afford it, a bullet.
Thinking 28 dollars is expensive for a pen, buddy you have no idea 😂
You are correct 🤣
The space refill will fit in any pen that takes a Parker G2 style refill. It will also fit in a Zebra F-701 with a minor hack.
Thanks...that's super helpful to know!
The new all metal 701 you just pop the refill in no hack needed
Remember that Fisher has other models that sell for less than half the price of the Bullet model.
Thanks for the reminder and thanks for watching!
You can buy cheaper pens too, like a Parker Jotter to use that same refill and get those benefits.
techwg Cool. Thanks for the great info! Makes me want to try out the RovyVon Commander C10! How do you like it?
@@EdTchoi I missed the delivery today :( But based on talking to the guy at the online store, asking questions and looking at a lot of images, I know I am going to love it.
techwg I had a look at the specs and it does look pretty cool. Seems a little pricey, but I’m sure it’s well built!
@@EdTchoi I have been told it is exceptionally well built and, I quote "You can really see where your money is going with this pen"
Don't know why anyone would wanna write underwater but the other details like using it to writing on paper holding against the wall is something I did a few times because there wasn't a desk or table near by to use
You should do a comparison video with the Fisher cartridge.......BOLD......MEDIUM...........FINE....along with the ink colors.
That's not a gasket, it's an o-ring...
Kevin R thanks for the clarification!
@@EdTchoi 👍
If ynot spend $30 for the pen, buy the refill and use it in a Parker jotter ( there is an adapter to use the refill in Parker pens. This will save you half the price (refill $5--6 and pen $10)

I often use the Parker sonnet and Parker 51
Definitely worth the money
What about its ink does it need to refill? Or purchase once and write for life long without refill?
Please clear my doubts thanks
you forgot to test if it actually writes at any angle, can this pen actually write on a 10 or 20 degree angle with light pressure. how quickly does the pen write after unboxing it.
Thanks for the comment! The pen wrote fairly quickly after unboxing and I can assure you it wrote very well at all angles.
FYI if you use it when wet the spring will rust away.
Ahh..good to know!
@@EdTchoi I should add that it take every workday for a couple years, so it's only an issue if you work around water.

So I've seen this but what is the best bang for your buck fancy pen with a super smooth writing feel?
I feel like it would last 100 years... nice family heirloom to pass down to my kiddos!

Haha…that’s awesome! I love hearing about how long these pens last. A nice testament on how well made they are. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Wow...good to know!

How long will the ink last not talking about shelf life?
Great question! The Fisher Space Pen has about 12,000 feet of ink (they use a write-out testing machine to determine this). Assuming you write about 6 feet a day, that would be equivalent to 2,000 days of continuous use or 5.5 years. This is of course based on ideal circumstances as the ink life may be shortened if you're a heavy writer or use absorbent paper. Thanks for watching and comment

For how much time does the ink lasts for ??
Good question…the ink in the Fisher Space pen is supposed to write for approximately 12,000 feet! That’s a lot of writing ✍️
600 meters average lifespan
@@EdTchoi it’s due to thicker ink than normal ballpoints because if too thin at a pressurized chamber it would leak through the ball so the ink has to be thicker under a pressurized load. Resulting in easier writing and long life as the ink is more concentrated

I bought a a $160 solid brass pen. Was concerned the ink cartridge wouldn’t be good though...it uses these pen cartridges 🤣
How do you like the cartridges with your brass pen?
Cheers!
You should use your normal pen to write in the water.
does the ink smear? gotta think of the Southpaws!!!!
