dude that installation tip just saved my life! thank you
also appreciate it!
You inspired me to get the MPC & Model 12 setup. Which has been amazing for creative freedom and immediacy. Just finally made the jump into Ableton. This is extremely helpful, being able to transfer ideas from my MPC jams into Ableton to develop further. Thank you for… everything!
Bought Mini D yesterday, was pulling my hair out trying to find info on how to install the VST, so far you're source I found that explained how to do it. So thank you for mentioning it.
Really great channel love it
Keep up the great work I love your videos
Thank you!
Sounds great
Awesome!
So many words that I don't understand. I'm just here for the beard and silky smooth voice. Miss ya bud.
🤣🤣 Thanks brotha 🙏 ... New synthwave album releasing next Friday (Nov 18th) 👀👀 Gonna be on Spotify, Bandcamp etc etc
Great demo, loved the music too!
Thanks Marc!
love this video
❤❤❤
Found watching this so relaxing.
You can really tickle those keys can’t you 💪
Thank you for explaining how to install it! I have been looking around 😢
Yeah it's not very clear from the AKAI email
Ey man, great video! Im trying to instal Flavor Pro on my DAW (Logic) but I can't. How did u instal flavor pro on yours?? Can u help me :'c
If Akai would just make the Keygroup and Drum programs into VSTs that would be awesome. Especially with the MPC and Force's ability to export Ableton projects.
just did this yesterday
Great info thank you!
To be able to use them on the daw is great, however I am a Pro Tools nerd, is there a AAX format version in the works? That would be icing on the cake really.
EDIT:There is a AAX Version, should've read the website better
Nevertheless the Mini D and OP4 have been great additions to my MPC One. The gain and feedback on the Mod screen of the Mini D add amazing growl to that synth.
On OP4 one of my favorite features is the Sample playback that you can add to the synth, adds a lot of character to all the digital nature of it.
Keep up the great content!
That's great and thanks for pointing it out!
Thanks for the video. Great watching you work. A few months back I listened to your suggestion and traded in some gear toward an MPC Key 61 and I have loved performing and writing with it. I am looking forward to purchasing the new plugins especially listening to there quality here. I currently still have an Elektron Digitakt and AEROS Loopstudio but I have wondered about whether to keep them or let them go with all that the MPC can do. I'd like to travel and as a keyboard player, vocalist it would be nice to take less gear. I love that the MPC has onboard effects that compliment my other vocal pedals as well with even a possibility of being an all in one solution. I'd love to hear your thoughts on that as you and Meems produce an electro soul vibe I like and perform. While no piece of gear is perfect, the MPC has been just the direction I needed to move forward with a sound and utility to make some memorable music and performances. Thanks for the suggestion, advice and channel. Peace and love.
Hi John! The Key 61 is a powerhouse no doubt. Hopefully you haven't ran into too many bugs, though.
Concerning the Digitakt and AEROS overlap, I'd say keep the AEROS if you do a lot of live complex looping. Most of the Digitakt can be replicated in the MPC format (obviously a bit different, but still very similar). What the MPC lacks, though, is a robust looper. It's default looper maxes out at 16 bars and 1 track. It's great for recording snippets in time with the beat, but falls short on long complex multi track loops.
On the other hand, if you do a lot of live manipulation of the beat on the Digitakt, then you'd miss out on that if you dropped the Digitakt. There's always something to consider 🤣
Good luck on the setup and keep us posted! ❤❤
@@TeftyMeems Great suggestion. Thanks. I don't do much in terms of manipulating beats other than track mutes and filter sweeps, and I do agree that with practice the mpc can take the duties that the Digitakt covered in my setup. The looper has been my concern for me as well, especially for load times in between songs, and the looper just allows me to start ideas very quickly. Having the looper will allow me to record my arrangement created on the mpc and set up a new project or scene without stopping the music for a more seamless set. Less gear to carry also makes travelling much easier. I will keep you posted and thanks again. I've ;learn a lot watching your channel and admire your musicianship and advice. Peace and blessings.
Maybe Akai will expand the looper in a future update to be multi track and longer record time 🙏🙏 Although like you said, the AEROS is perfect for transitions where the MPC needs to load another project. Peace and love to you as well, John ❤
I sold the mpc but loved air flavor pro at least I can use on pc now this would be a dope iOS auv3 plugin one can dream 🛌
Which platform did you move on to? Or sticking with DAW production?
@@TeftyMeems I kind of been having fun on iOS aum and cubasis really like AUM for jam sessions, haven’t delved into cubasis that much but garageband 🎸 I definitely wasn’t a fan of. I like the dawless set ups, but it started to get expensive and complicated not learning the machines mainly like connecting everything and space obviously a real Analog synth is always gonna sound better but like the iOS mini d is pretty spot on to my ears 👂
iOS is always fun! I agree with Garageband being weird. Everytime I open it up on the iPad it ends up annoying me 🤣
My number 1 thing is always inspiration. Use what inspires you. iPad apps? Awesome. DAW on a full blown Mac Pro. Get it! Make beats straight into a zoom recorder? More power to you. As long as you enjoy the process and are being creatively satisfied 💪
@@TeftyMeems agreed well said and I’m sure it will change at some point lol but I’ll still always keep up with you and the hardware peeps
Where did you sell and how much? Ive heard everybody selling mpc now
Now I want the reverse - VST on the MPC !
yeah I don't see that happening any time soon mainly because the hardware has a different architecture and to emulate the VST format from a Windows binary would add exponential load onto the ARM chip. Unless the AKAI engineers have some magic tricks 🤣
@@TeftyMeems Alas MPC CPU are just enough for a sufficient number of nice software synths, so piling on a stack of VST isn't reasonable at all - especially through emulation... I wonder if a next-gen MPC with sufficient power would embrace the VST world, risking UX degeneracy, or deliberately eschew VST to keep the system simple.
Hey mate how do u cope with that mpc and tascam issue with cracking sound noises.. Since the 2.11.5 update, my mpc seems to be not compatible any more with my model 12 as audio interface.. Do u have similar problems ? Thanks anyway.. Keep the good work up
Yeah seems to be an issue and a lot of people have mentioned it. All we can do is hope Akai releases a patch soon 😞
What's the default install location of MPC's plugins? I really hate they don't have a sound manager like Native Instruments that let's you know exactly the file path.
Should be the standard VST/VST3 folders for Windows. Not sure on Mac.
@@TeftyMeems it's weird because I can run my MPC as plugin within via C > Program Files > Steinberg > VstPlugins. But the Flavor Pro aren't listed there. 🤔
So do you have to own an MPC product to buy these as VST plugins now? Has me wondering if Akai is shooting for the broader desktop market.
No, you don't need to own a MPC for the VST versions.
Thanks
Like Matthew said, no need to have MPC hardware to purchase. You can treat them as standalone VST/AU plugs!
Hey i bought fabric xl and flavor pro but i'm on cubase..
does it work, I can't get it recognized by cubase??
Assuming you're using the VST version? Yeah it should work. Maybe it installed the plugins into a different folder that Cubase isn't searching?
@@TeftyMeemstanks it's OK now
