No other quartet can come anywhere near Forestella!!!!! I have watched this several times now and cannot get enough. It is so hard to say just one is my favorite because each one is so unique in his own way. But if I were to have to pinpoint my favorite it is doohoon!! I do not know how to describe his sound, but I get chills when he sings in any of their songs, but in this one..........my mouth dropped, and my eyes got teary. No matter what, his voice is simply majestic and cannot be copied. Love you guys and loved this reaction.
Bae DooHoon (Waleska's favourite guy) is a musical theatre actor. When he was in Phantom Singer 2, the judges said he had the perfect voice for latin american songs
4:47 (the one made for this) is bae doohoon. he is the musical actor. that's why he is so good at conveying emotions when he sings.
forestella is a classical crossover quartet, so il divo, josh groban, lara fabian, il volo, andrea bocelli, sarah brightman, celtic woman and the like. however, they excel at the crossing over part. when they appear on immortal songs 2 (despacito, bad romance, bohemian rhapsody, legends never die, lazenca save us, mama) or other musical variety shows (time in a bottle, inner universe, shape of you) you get to see what they can do in a more mainstream pop/rock realm. these musical variety show appearances are the ones that go viral. the original music on their albums centers on the classical side and sadly doesn't go viral.
classical crossover is very much a niche genre. but forestella is the only classical crossover artist to cross the boundaries into the mainstream!

bae do hoon is my fav as well... for me, he conveys emotions in the best way, dunno if you checked their je suis malade, or snail covers, but he shined in both as well.... he was in a long-term relationship and got married a few months ago.. Ko woorim "the bass" got married last year.. Kang Hyung ho "the soprano" is to believe in a relationship, and I think he will get married next year (according to what he said in one of the episodes of immortal songs)... you still have a lot to react to
Thanks for the reaction! I'd highly recommend checking out this cover on the channel "Sol Tello" so you can see a version that isn't a fan cam. Either way they sound incredible, the sound quality is just a bit better on the produced version. Also, I would love to see you react to Forestella's cover of "Inner Universe", it's amazing!

Even if I know nothing about Spanish, their rendition of this song always makes me cry. (Who denies to cry looking at Doohoon’s face?) I guess they must have studied and practiced a lot to make such a perfect performance. They are hard-working geniuses.

They are doing well and having fun. Early 2023 they had concerts in N America. I am sad I didn't know about them or I would have flown to see their concert.
"Mama" is good! However, I personally recommend the most recent cover, "Legends Never Die". It sounded more dramatic.

I first watched DooHoon sing “Despacito” at a fan meet and he was so great. (And of course the whole group singing that song is amazing). His voice has such beautiful texture and emotion. What a wonderful blend of voices in Forestella. They really stand out- no others like them.
❤This is a song they used for their competition on Phantom singers in the final rounds. They won the competition and became the group they are now.

Forestella is classified as a Crossover Vocal Group, meaning they are artists who do both classical music and other genres such as pop and rock. In this video, from left to right, their names are Woorim (deep voice), Hyung-ho (soprano voice), Mingyu (high, operatic voice), and Doohoon (the one you said was born to sing ballads).
Fun fact, only Woorim and Mingyu were classically trained when the group first formed during the Phantom Singer show. Doohoon was a musical actor and Hyung-ho was working as a chemical engineer and sang in a rock band on the side.
The man you guys love is Bae Doo-hoon, the godly bass is Ko Woo-rim, the king of classical is Jo Mingyu and the rocky-soprano is Kang Hyung-ho. The 2nd and 3rd have a long classical background, the 1st worked in teathers as an actor ( prbly musical one), the last one was literally an engeneer with no techincal experience.
It's funny because doohoon (the guy on the end) has been in a long term relationship since 2015 and they got married recently...

Yes, yes, yes to a MAMA reaction - it will fry your brain. Also please do Shape of You but the video from Bae DooHoon’s (guy far right) wedding in May. I would also like to see you react to how the group came to be in the 3 short vids Forestory ua-cam.com/video/G7OHISup8nE/v-deo.html pt1 (pt2 is also 14mins and pt3 is 10mins). This will show how close to them not being the line up on several occasions but thankfully the music God’s were looking down as well as Cho MinGyu working hard to get what he wanted. It will also give you an appreciation of their personalities and how well they clicked. My only criticism of the vids is one where the inclusion of some dialogue heard in another vid would have been good.

Except for Mingyu (the tenor from the right on the screen), all of them are in long term relationships. I believe woorim was already dating Yuna at this point, Doohoon and Hyungho definitely were already in a long term relationship when this was filmed. They are simply just this good at expressing emotions. Born to sing, I guess :)
Gummy, Baek Ji Young, Lena Park, Park Hyo Shin, Lyn, Jung In to name a few artists who sing ballads. My favorites are Gummy and Lyn.

Korean men are also very sentimental, almost tragically so which is why a Marc Anthony song is no sweat for them. Korean ballads are very similar to Latino ballads in their style of romantic fatalism (also largely attributed to machismo) - there's even a name for the kind of singing that bae doo-hoon does which we dub "crying face" singing. For cult classics in korean ballad, think Park hyoshin, K.will, and ha dong kyun. However, the undisputed king of male korean ballad is yim jae bum who is a South Korean icon.

It's clearly my own preference but for korean ballad singers, I would strongly recommend Park Hyo Shin (you loved his song "Wild Flower") and Kim Kwang Seok.
Park Hyo Shin doesn't have many official live videos because he doesn't appear much on TV (he seems very shy) but there are lots of very good fancams on youtube (with eng subs) where you can really enjoy his raw vocals.
As for Kim Kwang Seok, he's a hugely beloved folk singer in Korea. His most famous song (and my favourite) is "Too painful a love was not love". There is a beautiful live version with subtitles on youtube (ua-cam.com/video/xlr4jIWofDs/v-deo.html).
