I always say Cho MinGyu is the genius of Forestella and the mastermind behind them..
I just don't understand how it's possible! I've been speaking English for 28 years as a Korean American, but no way I can even sing a single song like a native speaker. He truly is a genius.
Cho Mingyu is a worthy leader of this great group he put together : “Forestella”!

I am Spanish and I can tell his Argentinian accent is marvellous. Mingyu totally caught me and made me her fan number one. He is an excellent singer, a marvellous performer, a superb artist. He left me speechless. There is another performance from last Christmas called Merry tango mas... he is even good looking and stylish...😊. Mingyu is simply the best.
Yes, you are so right, Cho MinGyu is a world-class artist. I don't understand Spanish, but this deeply emotional performance completely fascinated me from the first second. I have seen this performance so many times and am always extremely moved. One of the few artists with phenomenal charisma and imaginative expressiveness. (By the way, he is also a recitative tenor - which explains a lot -). A true master of his craft.
I am Spanish from Spain and believe me, Mingyu speaks Spanish with a perfect Argentinian accent. He is simply the best.❤

I can't forget the shock of watching this video for the first time. Mingyu is the world class.
I don't know if you've already noticed, but if you check out Forestella before she starts singing, you'll see Min-gyu Jo closing his eyes and concentrating to immerse himself in the song.
And you can see that his expression completely changed when he opened his eyes to sing. (as if wearing a mask)
Because the change in facial expressions is so impressive, Jo Min-gyu's nickname is 'the grudge-bearing cat' haha.
He can transform into a thousand faces to match the song he sings.
Jo Min-gyu's interpretation of the song, his immersion, and his acting skills are genius, and when combined with his unique voice, it further increases the rarity value.
Ladies and gentlemen, pay your respects to this beautiful Pagliacci. :)

That program is an open concert on KBS, Korea's largest public broadcasting company. It's a glorious stage where the best singers and top performers in Korea come out. On that stage, he impressed the audience and TV viewers with Spanish that was unfamiliar to Koreans. What a great musician.
Finally you reacted to him. All Spanish or Argentine speakers said same thing : he is perfect and he pronounce some words like Argentine...greetings from Belgium🇧🇪🍀🍀🍀
Though my personal favorite singer within Forestella is Ko Woorim, I have watched everything I can find with Cho Mingyu because he is the most emotive and absolutely the one that challenges himself the most. He never shies away from the difficult and in fact, he studies and makes every single part believable! Please react to his performance of the Ballad of the Trumpet. Also in Spanish and very emotional! Thanks again friends! 😊👍 ❤❤❤

He has studied long and hard to master different languages and was never recognized for his talent until he finally pierced through with Forestella. He once said that he was discouraged for putting so much effort in his trade, posting videos on UA-cam and getting only a few views. I am so glad to have discovered Forestella and each of the members’ talent individually. They are national treasures and hopefully will return even better after Woorim’s hiatus for military service. As many others have suggested, you should react to “Balada triste de la trumpeta” by Mingyu, “Frozen” in many languages by Mingyu also, “Les feuilles mortes” by Woorim, “Sad Béatrice” by Hyungho, and “Defying Gravity” by Doohoon! this man is also the reason forestella is so epic! he was essentially the one who took the lead in choosing the members he wanted to be in a group with him. he chose woorim to do the duet with. he insisted on doohoon when it was time for the trio, and then his first pick for the quartet was an amazing croatian american man. his name was sime kosta and he was the only foreigner to participate in season 2. (and who was later *unfairly IMO* eliminated by the judges). however, i also have to be glad that it happened, because that lead to hyungho!

This is one of my favorites from his solo work. (And Kill This Love, Be My Love, his first original solo Raya as well.) His French is also good, check his Non, je ne regrette rien to see how perfect his French is. And of course his Italian is even better, as he is a classical vocal major master, Italian is essential language to sing opera pieces. No need to say about his German is good enough for the same reason. He was preparing to study in Germany or Austria before deciding to participate in Phantom Singer 2 audition, he should've have studied it. In his individual channel you can find his opera singing in German.

Btw, BROADWAY NIVEAU also has FORESTELLA's performance of "My Favorite Things" (The Sound of Music). Y luego también (ya no en español) os recomiendo muy mucho su versión de Rosalina, una canción que canta con Julian Kim, otro participante de Phantom Singer 2.
