    What I got from this:
    Baptiste is a full time damage dealer and a part time healer. He specializes in shooting from places his team isn't, getting in/out using his vertical mobility, healing teammates on the weekends or when it's convenient, and making his team incredibly difficult to kill without jumping through the hoops he can setup.

      And don't forget you can 1v1 just about any character in the game and win since Bap effectively has 3 health bars with his cooldowns lol. Even against the beefier tanks you can just jump away and cheese them like it's a boss battle in some single player game. And as long as you have lamp you should be able to win any DPS or dive tank 1v1 as long as you can hit some of your shots. For people wondering what he means here: 2:13
    "The great thing about Baptiste is that he can also heal, while doing damage."
    He's not being silly, he's talking about Baptiste's unique rhythm between his primary (3 round burst) and secondary (heal grenade) fire. The cooldown on the nade is long enough that you can squeeze one burst (more healing) or two bursts (more damage) between shots. The best pattern is and always will be two bursts. This isn't a debate, it's just the best way to play him!
    So if you're feeling like you're having to healbot 'because my team is taking so much damage': that is a SKILL ISSUE, because if all you're doing is firing nades, you're choosing to be lazy and not using him to his full potential!
    If you're playing Baptiste and not shooting at something whenever you can (DAMAGE), *you are playing him wrong*
    Awkward, you're amazing

      You can also apply that playstyle to kiriko aswell

    • @FlamingNinjaBoi
      @FlamingNinjaBoi Рік тому +16

      @@seaniboy100 True! Although it's worth noting the window is much smaller than Bap's, and Kiriko's damage is far less reliable, so you'd probably want to prioritize healing a little bit more with her because her ultimate is easily the best part of her kit.
      But you can definitely fit one kunai between each reload of your healing talismans without slowing the heal rate down at all. Though, this doesn't stop her from being an excellent flank supp (flank enemy, suzu/tp out when they turn to fight you). Her flanking power is where you'll get most of your surprise picks and damage farm from.

    • @derpyduck5088
      @derpyduck5088 Рік тому +3

      The best pattern for dmg is shoot, shoot, heal. The best for healing is Shoot, heal, shoot, heal. The latter isn't as efficient since there's like a half second of down time, but it's easier to arrange your aim for the heal instead of relying solely on flicking your grenades

You have to be as GOOD as he is. It's like people lose sight of the fact he's a Rank# player playing against Plats and Diamonds. He's basically a 6'7" man dunking on 5th graders. That's not most of us. Yes, his coaching and tips are spot on, but we have to remember that those tips will raise OUR ceiling, and some of us only have Plat or Diamond ceiling. More damage=more pressure which can lead to the enemy retreating/panicking/prioritizing you which helps save your teammates so you don't need to heal as often as you think you would need to. I'm definitely gonna try this out when I play Bap!

    I've heard a lot of people online say that awkward's playstyle is carried by his mechanics. People don't realize the pressure created just by shooting at someone even if you don't hit. Creating off angles and pressure by itself can carry games at low elos. positioning alone can carry games at low elos. Yeah he has great mechanics, but anyone can have great mechanics with time and practice. Its showing that with effort you can climb. Some people believe its actually impossible to climb because of teammates but fail to realize the impact you can have towards victories with small wins through out your matches.

      @Harevald Рік тому +16

      You need aim to do what he does and be effective. You can be as aggressive as your mechanics allow you to do. If Awkward missed half of his shots he would die many many times. But he doesn't so it works well.
      It's like with Pine from Overwatch League season 1 - he could go get 4k behind enemy backline because he landed nasty headshots. If he missed anything in his famous Junkertown clip he would feed and die.
      Anyone can do what Awkward does but only to the extent of their mechanics. He takes lots of 1v1 and sometimes even 1v2 because in the short period of time that he is safe thanks to his self-heal, he kills the enemy. If you waste that time because you miss shots, you die

    • @ZSonnenblick
      @ZSonnenblick Рік тому +8

      eh yes and no. if you're shooting from an off angle and not killing anything its not actually accomplishing all that much. if youre going on flanks and losing 1v1s youre not helping your team. Awkward clearly has an extremely high level understanding of the game but his aim is literally mental...if i played this game for 25years i wouldnt reach anywhere close. alot of what he does SEEMS like a good play bc he walked away with the kill but had he missed a single shot and died it would have been a bad play. so on one hand you can say hes aware of his limitations and what he can get away with, but many many many things he does simply are unfathomable for 99.9% of the playerbase no matter how much they play. his aim and mechanics is mindboggling

    • @windowwax
      @windowwax Рік тому +13

      @@ZSonnenblick off angling isn't just going on flanks and taking 1v1s. Off angling, proper cover usage, positioning and having around average to slightly below average aim is enough to climb. Just think about how many cheaters who literally have aim bot get stuck in like plat or diamond because they just have no game sense. Overwatch is a game of knowledge. Mechanics play a part but its not everything, id argue its not even the most important thing compared to the other aspects of play. Land 40% of your shots but practice the other elements of play and you can make an impact.

    Key takeaways
    1. Damage (of course) but remain aware to heal critical teammates
    2. Take advantage of his exo boots to constantly find off angles, especially on high ground
    3. Constant damage, even before and AFTER team fights
    4. Use lamp behind corners
    5. Use windows around corners when the enemy is unable to retreat to secure kills (or on high ground to get picks when off-angling)
    6. Don’t be afraid to engage isolated enemies one-on-one when you have cool downs
    7. Push forward when enemies are retreating and fall back when they come nearer, while doing damage
    8. When getting pushed, always fight back to prevent the enemy from easily killing you

But if you do, you tank a lot, as it is a signal for matchmaker that maybe you aren't as good if you lost in diamond or something

    Two most important things I learned from Awkward that helped me climb out of the metal ranks was always take an off angle and always damage. The biggest thing was probably not turning around to retreat. If you're going to chase me you will get damage from me. That alone will either get you a pick with the enemy way out of position OR they will back off if they are smart.

    Hi Awkward. Just wanna say thank you bro. I was a tank main ever since Overwatch 2 came out. I always tried to learn how to play the game (as I was bronze back in 2016 lol, but could climb to gold and then diamnond). I saw ur unranked to gm video on Ana, and you showed some concepts no other content creator told us about. Today I got masters 5, i wasn´t good in support role (struggled to get plat). In one season, as Overwatch 2 made everyone fall a little of sr, my average was high gold in all roles, and in one season I could get to high diamond and master in support, and not putting so much effort on it. Keep up the great work, you have no idea how many people you help with your content! 🙂

    Would love to see one with Lifeweaver, considering his damage isnt consistent at longer ranges. Love the content, keep it up!

      Yeah, overall any support without huge damage potential. We know what Awkward does on Zen, Ana and Bap (he would do the same on Moira for sure as well). I wonder how he would play as Mercy, Lucio, Brig and Lifeweaver who don't dish out dps level of damage

    2:41:07 BEST example of damage before the fight imo, watching that sig waste his succ over baptiste bursting at him at MASTERS rank then dying because of it got me so hype to rank up.

    Your tips have helped me exponentially; the repetition and idea of questioning sticks in my brain so well. It really changes your mindset if you repeat it enough time. Went from gold to diamond in a week, much love
