Shunsui was left 1. His brother's hair pin, and his daughter, after he was killed by a curse as old as the Soul Society itself. 2. His sister in law's hair pin, kimono, sword, and even her families curse, after her execution at the hands of central 46 3. His surrogate father, Yammamoto's, position as the head captain, not even his body could be mourned due to Yhwach. 4. One of his oldest allies(and likely imo almost an older sister to him)Unohana, left him and Ukitake as the last bastions of the soul society of old, this one really probably hurt extra as he indirectly knowingly ordered her death as it was the best thing for soul society at the time. 5. Finally Ukitake left him the most important thing that he held to him, that being the entire soul society and everyone else that he cared about, after he chose to sacrifice his life for the soul society leaving Shunsui alone as the last bastion of the soul society of old. He carries 4-5 people's most precious possessions, a man who's entire character to this point was being goofy and lazy, who never in his entire life wanted to be burdened by these things, but due to his kindness, he willingly picks up the weight that nobody else can hold and (until this fight) bears it almost entirely alone now. I always liked Shunsui and tbh he was my 2nd favorite captain all the way back when I first watched Soul Society but this arc pushed him to what is my favorite captain, Kubo absolutely knocked it out of the park with him.
Really enjoyed Nanao and Shunsui's backstory. And seeing Nanao's zanpakuto at long last was beautiful. The visuals were stunning, the ost was great... Everything about this episode, much like the entirety of cour 3 itself, was fantastic. Only one episode remains
Notice how in the end of last cour senjimarus bankai had lille baro shoot himself by getting his attack reflected back at him? And pernida died to black sand (kurotsuchi means black sand) she wove their fates back then.
Lili is the only one who her zanpakuto directly counters, because he uses pure energy, every other member of the royal guard would have had a way around ut, similar to pernita fighting miyuri, lili fought his worse opponents
Not at all, we are just seeing what his opponent is really capable of now. We are dealing with Ywach's royal guards after all. Not small fry. Kyoraku still had to work with her for this blade to work as she didn't have the nerves.
Biblically accurate Quincy this episode
Bleach has been hittin hard every epi
5:55 shunsui is saying his zanpakto split into 2 so the little girl could hide nanao’s zanpakto

It was such a beautiful and poetic fight. Not to mention this sword would explain the mutilation of the soul hence its purpose is to kill a god.
can't say I saw it coming but it was beautiful
asspull sword is utterly insane and shit writing lets be honest brother

This is the worse episode of bleach, this episode really destroyed the episode of kyoraku's bankai .

Not the worst at all. Really good, actually
