I enjoy basically every episode that doesn't focus around Elfo's crush on Bean
Ofc but u can’t argue that u always get horny when u hear hi I’m elfo

Elfo is single most irritating thing in this series, he just gets more and more annoying over time.
I really liked this show, it wasn't on par with Groening's other shows for the first couple episodes, but neither was Futurama. This show just needs a bit of time to grow
Agreed, seeing as how it seemed to get better towards the last few episodes, let's hope it will continue to improve with a Season 2.
I also love the attention to details in the backgrounds and the art style

Honestly, l love this show. I know some people hate it, but l just find it very funny and entertaining
I think it's kinda of new fresh air
So do I. I get it, this show isn't perfect, but still. I think this show is so weird it's funny
Entertainment is just a tool that pacifies the masses and leads to the decay and ultimate collapse of civilisation.
2:06
Literally heard no 1 say they hated it... Js
This show managed to get me to binge it from the start and that's a sign of a good show in my book.
I tried because of the art style but couldn't watched it through after 2 episodes, but then I skipped to episode 10 out of boredom and the ending is interesting and the cliffhanger leads me to watch season 2 and season 2 is definitely better.
Same
I think elfo being naive is a factor on why he falls in love with bean so fast.
Is it love though, or just obsession
So, you got the time for it wrong. Disenchanted is also set in the future. If you remember Futurama and the part were Aliens destroy civilization, and then it begins to rebuild itself before being destroyed again? Disenchanted happens during that rebuilding era. The show has hints of this scattered throughout.
oh shit.
@@ApplePi3.1415 the bubonic plaque still exist today, you can't exactly destroy a plaque it just dies down after literally... Killing😂😭 so it wouldn't be suprising if it still exists in the future

Although its pretty rare even in poorer countries
@@ApplePi3.1415 the bubonic plague was mainly due to bad hygiene so it makes sense that it came back if they reverted to a medieval kind of civilization
But that means, that they are all doomed to be killed by Aliens again.
Just wait, season 2 will take jabs at people who didn't like season 1.
That won't make it good
Only if they make it good
I'm counting on it, watch... All these fakes will get two faced... =/
I liked season 2 cant wait for the 3rd. I heard their planning on 4 seasons.
Bruh i loved season 2 up until the 7th ep just bcuz of the feminist crap they threw in
Luci carried this show hard. I'm also planning on getting a Luci tat.
Pepe Kek my buddy made Decals for our vehicles
I got mine last month
Aaron Phillips As a wise demon “cat” said... DO IT! DO IT DO IT DO IT!!
Luci is a demon that influences one to do bad things. Might luci be short for Lucifer? Is anyone correlating that or we oky with toting satan because they make light of him in cartoon form. Just curious.
TaterTot XD in the show Elfo calls Luci “Lucille”, so it’s short for that. Also, a lot of shows have portrayed the devil before. Example: Red Guy from Cow and Chicken or Peaches from Rocko’s Modern Life.
Wait, how are the first seasons of "Futurama" underwhelming again?
They aren't, but future seasons of futurama did outclass the first and maybe second season. I will say the first 3-ish seasons of the simpsons were also underwhelming compared to the ones to follow. Neither futurama or the simpsons had bad early seasons, but both shows would grow progressively better before the time came to pull the plug.
The first episode Fry tries to commit suicide I'm afraid that's not enough jk
@@tealover9063 Bender does not Fry. Fry mistakes the suicide booth for a phone booth
While I disagree with futurama, i felt that comment was 100% true for thr simpsons. The first 2 seasons aged terribly
Steve said "COMPARED to the next seasons." So basically, the first seasons were cool, but the next seasons were MUCH, MUCH BETTER.
I quite enjoyed it. I hope it evolves and becomes a success like it's two brothers. Futurama and all 12 seasons of the Simpsons. Yep. ALL 12. Only 12. It ended at 12.

Why not disenchantment
4:42 well she does have a lot of responsibility on her back to have to worry about, she's sad about losing her mother
And honestly after a while, ruling a kingdom(having an important job or position in life) can be boring or stressful, and she knows this in advance as we do.
While she's not always funny or more interesting than the other 2 characters, she does create a dialogue and story for the series.
Spoiler alert
At the last episode when she is reunited with her Mom, she sets sail on a ship with her to an unknown place for an unknown reason, giving us a narrative and future suspense or second guessing.
I remember all of these shows you mentioned.
Honestly I kinda enjoyed Disenchantment. Yes the first season is a bit slow and Bean isn't a great character but I'm willing to give it a chance if it gets a second season.
September
The second season was much better.
What's wrong with Bean?
The kings does give me a bender vibe but also a Jake the dog as well if Jake was older and had a rougher voice.
They're all voiced by the same guy
I enjoyed. But that was because I didn't go in thinking it would be like the early episodes of The Simpsons or Futurama. Like most people did. I expected it to be exactly what it was, just another alright Netflix animated serious. Wasn't terrible but wasn't over the top amazing either.
Except early Futurama was fantastic, and early Simpsons can be excused for being meh because they were a revolution.
This show has no excuses.

Let me tell you season 2 was an amazing season for Bean. Rather than focusing on her being a princess who doesn't want to be a princess, they focus more on how she is treated as a woman, which still maintains it's relevance to today. Additionally, Elfo sees a lot more development. I think his instant crush on bean was supposed to reflect his naiveness as an elf, and later in the series we see less of the been-infatuated Elfo and the more practical, cynical, and meaner Elfo. Season 2 really developed Disenchantment into something I'll remember and love. Can't wait for the 3rd season!
"they focus more on how she is treated as a woman, which still maintains it's relevance to today" seen like good material, I'm eager to watch it.
7:34
*Excuse me buster, he’s an elf. He’s supposed to be innocent and very naive, good sir*
To be fair he's jokes fell flat most of the time and he's a main character..
Bean: I'm sorry guys, we're gonna die and it's all my fault.
Luci: No, it was me with my incessant, "do it, do it, do it, do its". That's what made you do it.
Elfo: Neither one of you was to blame. It was both of you. You both killed us
The first time I watched it I was very underwhelmed. I almost gave up on it, but during the second watch through it really bloomed and opened up. So much of the humor is very subtle and takes time to unfold. We are so used to being force fed one liners and laugh tracks that true situational humor races right past us. Give it two watches and I am sure you will see just what I mean. It is right up there with Matt's other shows. I love it!
It took me a complete second rewatch of Disenchantment to appreciate it. I’m a loyal watcher now, I love it!
My three favorite characters were the King, his wife/Bean's stepmom (I can't remember her name, but I found her incredibly hilarious and strangely very endearing), and Luci.
Luci cracked me up, and I quote him any chance I get. Like, I'd make peace and be friends with my inner demons if they acted like Luci.
Glad to see I wasn't the only one who saw Bart Simpson in Elfo's design.
I don't usually leave 2 comments on one video, but I freaking love Futurama. Every time Steve mentioned Futurama my soul felt so happy. I miss that show
The show needs time to grow i fell in love with it after a couple of episodes and has been waiting for a part 2 for nearly a year now
If it were me I'd just make an adventures of Zapp Brannigan show.
You mean Star Trek The Animated Series?
They have. It's called Donald Trump's presidency. Best show on Earth!
So... Zapp gets into some deep shit, then makes everyone around him die as a result. Sounds like a great show lol
Everyone loves Hypno Toad series!
Oh, please no...Zapp never got the sheer level of comeuppance he deserved, and that always irritated me.
1:56 ahhh I still remember it thanks for being my momores back
Yeah sweet memories
I definitely enjoyed this review, but I feel compelled to note that "Groening" should rhyme with "raining".
*stares at end of own intro for a good minute* you know what? I'm keeping it
This is already good
This show is fantastic!! I love that you have to really watch multiple times and start catching things! Love it ! I love the characters and the fact that each episode is a small part of a very large story!
1:52 I completely forgot about it until you mentioned it.
5:41 It was enjoyable for me back when I was a kid.
6:52 Never heard of it? Should I watch it?
Don't know jack shit of the show, but I already love lucy, great character
It’s Luci
Lucy gets much more attention in season 2, he's awesome 😃
I really like how Matt’s 3 shows are set in the basic 3 periods of time. First Present, Second Future, 3rd Past
i dont know why but the intro for every episode (i have not seen it all yet) is just so charming
You know what? I think the “in the past” landed nicely. I enjoyed it and it enhanced my experience.
I feel like, while I do see where you're coming from as forced, it almost is a part of Elfo's character as being this naive person and falling for what he can't have. He just seems to be like that. It feels extra forced in a way because he's one of the only guys that Bean actually tolerates though tbh. Like oh one of the only two that she actually seems to want to be around has a crush on her.
So I'm kinda torn how to feel about it.
I’d like to see a review of season 2
7:34 in the brazilian dub he says "wow it looks like my... oh is just far away"
Pause at 7:44, now look at the top of the cake.

"you remember THAT show...right?"
It was given a second season they ordered 26 episodes or 20 I can't remember the amount and halted it into two parts.
1:55 I remember the show, but the name was a blur, and recently I was trying to remember it's name but just couldn't, this was a great help, thanks.

Love the backgrounds and the art style.
Does anyone know when they are finally going to release the second half?
It’s a decent binge watch. Nothing more, nothing less. It keeps one’s attention and that’s all you can really ask for in a show. Nothing made me laugh to be honest.
Good description.
It's hilarious
what are you on? there are a couple episodes where the show slows down but its great.
So, a shaky start, but with potential for the future? Hmmm...
I didn't realize it until you were talking about how Lucy was introduced but their boxes look almost the exact same
I enjoy this show. As someone who has seen a majority of the 2nd season, some of the gripes Steve mentions actually become less pronounced. The whole Bean x Elfo thing is shot to all shit after some stuff goes down, and is barely even referenced in the 2nd season. Bean herself actually gets some pretty good character development, as does Luci and Elfo. Elfo's attitude does a complete 180, actually. Also, even in the 1st season, it's hinted at as to why Bean is the way she is, which is why for a character I give her good marks. I can understand why she is who she is, even if I can't always empathize. Something happens to Luci and I feel there is a gigantic plothole because of it, but it may be resolved in the future. How I would describe this show: "A show of terrible people, made for terrible people, by terrible people, with some rare moments of heartwarming." I never thought I'd see a show where all 3 characters are so morally gray, and it's entertaining as all hell.
ANyOne UH reMEbEr ThAT ShOW?
I liked it, it got better in late season.
Watching this in 2022, I can say it does get much better and interesting.

Have you ever noticed that the Chef at the Pizza Place Fry worked at reminds me of Superintendent Chalmers from the Simpsons
Luci is my favorite too!!! He’s awesome and so funny!
I think you nailed it... I love the show.. I've watched it more than a dozen times. I pray it catches on and has some more seasons.. The cast is perfect. I love all the characters especially Oona & Luci. I just want more... Its not Futurama, Its not the simpsons.. Its its own show.. Noel Fielding is also in it for a bit.. Watch this review till the end. Its very fair Unbiased & honest. Hit the nail on the head...
ive seen this show countless times now as first watch it became my favorite.. Ive always liked Bean as a character though as she's 18 and acts very according to the rebellious daughter type ? i dunno
teenage rebellion and blindness to her own privledge made me excited for her to see things in a different light ( hopefully by season 2) much like... a certain pink haired protaganist in neo yokio
Just pointing out that was just part one of season one, the next part to be released is part two of season one. And it's renewed for the next two years as well with season two in two parts as well
Theory: Elfo is the ancestor of Homer and Fry.
The last two episode we're definitely the best and did a good job of building the climax. Also I thought Luci would come into play this season but I guess that's season 2, he's also the best part of the show. Elfo is lame in the show and in character.
I do wonder if the elfo crush thing is more something for him to grow out of as a character as he develops
i love all of the episodes and the characters development (especially luci's ) i think season 2 is gonna be great
I only know the show due to a kid in my health class. He had to take health class again. He failed health class

this is an alright review, but... “she’s a princess, i can’t relate, that makes her a bad character”. i’ve heard this SEVERAL times from other reviewers, especially male ones for some reason? i mean yeah, she has a LOT of flaws, but shit man. not every princess is immediately unrelatable because they’re royal. also, tip for later reviews, if you have something like this (i.e. a series created by someone that already has other multiple series), you really can’t compare so heavily to the other shows. maybe for structural and animation purposes, but dude, they’re completely different stories. you can’t just say “oh she’s leela” because she REALLY isn’t. same with elfo and his comparison to bart/fry, same with luci and his comparison to bender. they’re not the same characters at all. they just have similar tropes. it’s like comparing family guy to american dad. theyre similar because they have the same creator, animation, and structure, but they’re not the same whatsoever in terms of characters, setting, or story, so it would be silly to compare those to each other. see what i’m saying here?
I got really happy when you said Luci was your favorite cuz he's my favorite too
New season is coming in a few days from now, I forget the exact date, but its this month.
It's too early to judge but the first two seasons for now were really enjoyable, funny and getting better as they went along. Right now it looks like a super clever and mysterious story I'm dying to see the next part of. I just hope that all questions will be answered and that it'll keep being so clever.
7:29 I guess they never miss huh
I love this show but they left it on such a cliff hanger 😭
1:55 YES. I adore Xiaolin Showdown! I would love if you could do a video on it, since it's often overlooked. It would be interesting if you talked about Xiaolin Chronicles too, since, um, it's....interesting. XD
Saw it when it first came out...months later I went back and I think it got much better..
Bean is relatable to teenagers above anyone else and they’re the main consumers so they captured teenagers attitudes perfectly

A fantastic show that shits on a lot of modern day politics and tropes. The hidden messages and metaphors were really well done.
You know John DiMaggio also voices Dr Drakken in Kim possible and jake the dog in adventure Time
Say your opinion in the comments: did Disenchantment never plan Beafo, or did they change it because of negative response?
This show is pretty funny, Bean is hilarious. Though she is also a sad girl who wants to fit in and be a normal girl.
But she has a duty to be a princess of Dreamland and perhaps the next heir, all without her mother who she lost at a very young age.
Her only parent now being her father who is a greedy drunk and doesn't know how to take care of Bean. Seeing as he barely noticed when she switched places with a pauper for a year.
I agree..for the first season and a half, Bean was just a bummer/ disappointment of a character. But near the end of the 2nd season she finally stepped up and developed.
Honestly, I think they were trying to show Bean as a Jerry (from Rick & Morty) type character in the beginning. Someone who has misfortune, but is so self absorbed, ungrateful, and whiney you lose sympathy for them quickly. Which as the seasons progressed, and so did Bean's character, I don't have a major problem with now. If her character remained stagnant, then it would have ruined the series. But I think her creation was meant to remind the youth of our society that they need to actually try harder if they want a little empathy during the rough moments in life.
You do Xiaolin Showdown. It was one of my favorite shows growing up and I'd love to see your take on that series.
I quite liked the show, especially the 3 main characters. I’ve never actually seen his previous works but I enjoyed this show. The first 2 episodes actually felt like an animated DnD campaign, like Harmon Quest on VRV
