    My son has autism and is very particular about what he eats. The second day of the cruise, they didn't have anything on the menu he wanted. Our waiter, Frank, asked what he liked to eat and my son told him grilled cheese sandwich. Frank said it would take him a little bit longer than the rest of the meal, but he'd call around and guarantee my son would have a grilled cheese sandwich. Sure enough, Frank came through. Each night, our excellent waiter made sure my son had what he wanted!

      grondhero that is so sweet! I remember my little brother not being able to decide which appetizer he wanted between 2and our waiter said he’d surprise him. Then came out with both. My brothers face was so worth it! I thought that was a magical experience. Yours is even more of an example of how hard they go to be above standard!

    A note on the Mickey bars. I asked my waiter one night for a mickey bar and they literally go above and beyond. He came out with a silver platter (literally) with a hood on it with 7 Mickey bars. He wanted me to take some back to the room just in case I wanted one later. I’ve been on 3 Disney cruises and they are literally the best for any age. My parents are on a royal Caribbean cruise rn and my mom has always wanted to go on one, but she said that their food is mediocre and there isn’t as much to do on their ships. Disney is the way to go!

    Alright! DCL! I love going on these cruises! It’s a great way to experience all Disney has to offer within a cruise experience. I definitely recommend going on one if you haven’t. I just can’t stop saying how good it is! One thing to add is that Cabanas, the buffet at the back of the boat for breakfast and lunch, is also open for dinner. If you don’t feel like going to your assigned restaurant, you can head up to Cabanas for a more quieter experience, sometimes with the same food as the restaurants below!

      I would say go to the adult lounge if you don’t have any kids, but if you do, make sure you do some activities like karaokes and bingo, also try to see every show. The shows are broadway style shows and they are amazing. Make sure you bring like a yeti cup or a big reusable cup so that you can have a drink when you walk the shop. Also, you can take your food from the restaurant back to your stateroom, so that if you want a midnight snack, you can eat! Remember, there is a fridge in the stateroom. Ask for all the amenities that you can! Have fun!

      Tim Barry Make sure you book excursions ahead of time if the ship will be stopping at ports. I always find the excursions very exciting and the tour guides are always very interesting and nice, so it’s a good experience to try disney’s own excursions. But going off on your own at ports is also still an option, just make sure you plan your day well and make sure you get back to the ship before it takes off.

      Franko Agostini The table that you get at the three main restaurants is “randomly” assigned to you. Disney will try to pair your family with another family with children of a similar age, however that is the only thing that’s guaranteed with your table assignment. From my experience, there really isn’t any bad table at the restaurants, since everyone will get the same or similar experience no matter where they sit. Hope this helps, and your children will definitely enjoy their first Disney cruise!

For my cruise in May on the Dream we are able to book these ahead of time. It opened up for us the same time that we could reserve Palo. However, I don't know if this is just a perk for platinum members since we do cruise a lot on DCL.

    Also, want to let everyone know that now you can book mixology classes before the cruise. However, even 90 days ahead, there were none available! If you join a Facebook group, there are some that are saying additional classes can be reserved. Of course, you have to call Disney Cruise Line to request.

    I have never seen it done in the parks. Our first DCL Is booked for July 2019. Does Disney offer to go containers for unfinished food on the ships or in the parks? Or do we have to toss it? I know they are at the resorts but I am one of those people that get full pretty quick and do not mind going back to finish a previous meal. I just thought I should ask :)

    You indicate that the 24-Hour Room Service is included, but do the people who bring your food expect a tip? Are they suppose to expect a tip if it's included? I didn't use Room Service because of not knowing what is expected tip wise and would love to know so I can use it in the future. I tend to have a tight budget, so too much tipping is not an option.

    • @eloisemorrison5193

      Most cruise lines expect a tip and if you don’t tip it’ll be slower service however you don’t have to tip, we never did

    How about using your own refillable bottles for water? They tell you to use a fresh cup each time you get more drinks, how can you use the same bottle again and again?

    • @JoshDoesTravel
      @JoshDoesTravel 6 років тому

      Andreas Beer As far as I know you can use your own bottle/container to get drinks from the beverage station. I’ve found the use a fresh glass thing is a recommendation really, since no one checks to make sure you’re using a fresh glass

      You can ask I'm advance for your meals to be prepared with or without certain ingredients
      Or even at the same time you are dinning, due to the rotational dining, your server only needs to know this once
      It worked for my girlfriend as she can't consume dairy products

    I have a question! If we book and adult dinner for the first night if our cruise does that mean we miss out on one of the 3 resturants in the rotational dinning? If so which night is the best night to book. It is a 5 night cruise don't know if that makes a difference.

    • @JoshDoesTravel
      @JoshDoesTravel 6 років тому

      Vivianna Carrillo Yes, you will miss dining one night in one of the main restaurants. Since you’re on a five night cruise, you will most likely dine there again at some point after you’ve eaten at Palo or Remy. With that in mind, there really is no “best night” to dine at the adults only restaurants

      Paul Towarnicki Tip is included. There is no need to tip additional for the mixology courses

  • @Jay1637
    @Jay1637 7 років тому +3

    A couple important things missing from the video. Gratuity: That's a big one. You have to tip for everything. That includes room service. And unless u wanna choke on ur food then it's not completely free because you have to pay for ur drink (bottled or canned soda, juice, water, etc and any other drinks that they serve that are not fountain drinks). You can't go to the top deck to serve urself a fountain drink even if u wanted to because they close everything at like 10 or 11pm. Or at least that's the experience I had on my cruise. Also, I never made a reservation for Palo or Remy so I would've hoped that more info on pricing was included in this video. I believe there is an extra fee or u have to pay for ur meal but this video makes it sound like you can make a reservation and that's it. You can if you're willing to pay more for your dining experience.

      @flee2321 6 років тому

      Jay1637 technically you don’t have to tip for room service, but it is appreciated. As far as tips for everything, that’s standard cruise and Disney gives out recommendations. Also, with the drinks, I was on the dream in 2012ish and 2015 and the drinks were still there to fill up our cups all night. They can’t move them and they didn’t turn them off. They still had ice cream (for free) out at 2 am. Plus, she did mention getting the refillable cups to bring and store in your as an option to not choke on your food.
