You reminded me that we still have a partially-completed Cafe Fanatic card from our last cruise. I’ll pack it for our next cruise in April, and when we get that free coffee, we’ll toast to you, AJ!
Brunch at Enchante on the Wish was an amazing experience and I would highly recommend it; they do a multi-course thing with lots of stuff to try. The ability to drop the kiddos off at the Oceaneer club and go have a real adult meal with my wife was fantastic! The kids didn't even want to leave the kids club, and from their description I don't blame them: it sounded amazing.
I pack a small set of scissors in my suitcase they have always been fine with it but like I said it’s a tiny travel pair. Never put medicine in a checked bag keep those on you in a backpack like I carry or tote bag. I did pack a small travel fan last cruise and they keep it but brought it back even before we set sail.
@@sandrapowers9294 we will take you with us in spirit. It’s our first. I’m hoping we don’t get sea sick, and my child decides she only wants to eat ice cream and chicken tenders for all her meals. 😂. Years of watching DFB should make us all foodies by now.
I'm going on a family trip on the Disney Wish at the end of April and I am so excited the last time I was on a Disney cruise was almost 10 years ago (sometime in February in 2014) We already know what room we're getting and it's on deck 11 I was so shook to find that out (right by the food stalls!) I hope our room is themed to The Little Mermaid tbh I do love Moana but The Little Mermaid is more dear to my heart
I am going on my second Disney cruise on the dream in the first week of April! I am so excited because this time I am just going with my parents. Not my parents and my sisters. I know I get sea sick this time, so hopefully I have an even BETTER experience
I wish Castaway Cay or Lighthouse Pointe had a pool on their island. It seems like most of the other major cruise line islands all have large pools. My wife likes the beach, but not “beach” ocean water.
I believe Lighthouse Point is a reserve and Disney had to negotiate and promise to upkeep its natural reserve status. As for Castaway Cay, even though its private Disney is trying to remove itself from the Cococay theming. You have enough water to work with.
I haven't been on a cruise yet because of my family who prefer land vacations such as all inclusive, etc. When I do go, it will have to be DCL!! One day 😊
We had an interior stateroom on the Disney Wonder, and although we loved our cruise, I was annoyed that there was no place to plug in your phone right next to the bed. I was using my phone as a clock and I couldn't charge it right on my bedside.
I hear they changed Oceaneers from 3-12 to now 3-10. Can you please check this? It still says 3-12 in the guide (I just downloaded! but think the change is brand new>)
Anyone know how the cruise clubs work for a child having their birthday literally half way through the cruise? Is she stuck going to the younger club the first two days and then can try out the older club the last two days?
Can you bring fans? I would love to go on a cruise with my family someday and 4 out of the 5 of us sleep with box fans every single night for noise. Can we bring those on board or would we have to go without? Also good to know about the scissors. Both my mom and I cross stitch for relaxation and I would never know we couldn't bring our scissors for cutting the threads.
Some fans are okay - but you’ve got to make sure they’re compact (not exceeding 9”X14”X22”). They also have to have a stable base, and the cords MUST be in good condition. All fans must be carried-on and not kept in your checked luggage. 🤗
Well I would check with what you can bring onto the cruise but you can bring earplugs and a white noise machine and there are different kinds of white noise machines that are a little bit louder than others so I would just look into that
@loracaro4427 The problem is that we also use them for the air too. So noise machines wouldn't work. Idk if I'll ever be able to afford a cruise any ways. But a girl can dream.
I know this is an older comment, but... yes, you can! We booked 1 cruise with TA, then made a placeholder and used the same TA for that one. For our agent, the onboard credit they give is less if using a placeholder.
Tip #1 should have been "Did you know that Mickey 'Ice Cream' bars are NOT ice cream???". When we were on the cruise I would get one of these for dessert each night. They would deliver them to the table out of the wrapper and in a bowl. The second last night we were there we got talking at our table and I had taken a couple of bites and placed it back in the bowl. I had been sipping coffee and chatting. After a while I looked down and realized I still had it and, much to my surprise, being out in the Bahamian heat, it hadn't melted, not even a little. So I decided on our last night to conduct a little experiment. I asked for two Mickey "ice cream" bars for dessert. One I ate and the other I left in the bowl and took progressive pictures of. I took my spoon and pried all of the chocolate shell off and pilled it to one side of the bowl, making only one main bit of "damage" done to the "ice cream" was my thumb print in part of it. Other than that, it was the fully formed Mickey shape. I was delivered the desserts at 7:15pm. By 8:35, sitting and chatting, it hadn't melted. So I took it to my room for the night. I took several images over the course of the night showing my watch in the shot each time to show the passage of time with each, as it sat on the desk in the room. By the time I went to bed at 2:15am it had remained unmelted, unchanged, even my thumb print was in tact. When we got up in the morning the last picture I took before bringing it back to our last breakfast to show our server, whom had been curious when I told him about my experiment when I asked him for two the night before. While waiting for our table we were in line outside the restaurant and one of the kids spun around and accidentally knocked the bowl out of my hands and onto the floor. They brought out a mop to clean it up but the floor had become so oily that, after three moppings, they had to put a barrier up so people wouldn't walk over the spot and slip. Oil based "ice cream".

I’m literally going on my first Disney cruise from Australia tomorrow, perfect timing!! So excited!!🎉
Welcome to the family, Disney has been the only line I have cruised with I need to branch out more.
Thank you. Perfect timing as we are about to set sail. I can confidently cruise with all the info I’ve leaned from you for the last 5 years.
❤❤❤
Have so much fun! ❤
Have a fantastic time unfortunately I physically can't cruise anymore. However I 💕 see others enjoy.

Going on my first Disney cruise a week from today 🎉 the Wish!!
Have a great time!

Love me some DFB!
The DCL cruise we took, we didn’t see my son except at dinner and at Castaway. He was old enough to check himself in and out of his club.
We were able to get a Palo brunch on our first cruise. It was 12:30pm so it really was more like lunch but it worked out just fine for us!

March cruise on the Wish! Perfect timing-thank you!

Hiii aj so happy you posted how are you
Is there a possibility to get the prohibited items stored somewhere in advance? (Without them breaking into my luggage?)

And now I know the secrets. Thanks.
**Scissors with blades exceeding 4 inches** As someone who ALWAYS packs a pair of scissors I had to fact check that one😂
I hear they changed Oceaneers from 3-12 to now 3-10. Can you please check this? It still says 3-12 in the guide (I just downloaded! but think the change is brand new>)
3-10 is correct. They wouldn't allow my 11 year old in to play.
Oh, wow. So now they have to go to the tween club. Interesting.

Use nail clippers to cut off tags
Our daughter also didn't want to be dropped off at the kid's club! So we just went with her during the open houses :)
Is DCL still building their second private Island ?

Pro tip…instead of logging in at midnight, live on the other side of the world. I get to log in around one or two p.m., depending on time of year.
