It varies based on the multimeter that you have. I have a Klien tools multimeter and it comes with a separate adapter that works as a thermometer. Basically you unplug the red and black wires and plug in the thermometer following the multimeter instructions.
I think I've been having this issue as well I just replaced the battery yesterday and plugs I also have a pc3 on it that I decided to take off and go back to stock I went for a ride yesterday and was riding for about 45 minutes came to a stop light and the idle got real low an when I hit the throttle the bike died tried to start it and it would not kick over pushed it to the gas station and filled it with gas and tried to start it and still wouldn't turn over waited 15 minutes then it started right up as if nothing happened I have noticed that when I start the bike the check engine light is on from start up and gose off then comes back on for a couple seconds and gose off I put a meter to the old battery an had a reading of 12.7 wile bike was off and started it and it jumped to 14.3 around there so I think the charging system is working properly but decided to go head in replace the battery anyway the plugs also kinda looked fouled I have a 2001 heritage classic this is the second time it has stalled out on me in the last month do you think I should go head in replace the sensor and be done with it or is there something else I should be looking at ?
Hi Matt, I would not replace the sensor unless it fails the test in the video. Have you ever replaced the gaskets between the heads and the throttle body? They get brittle and leak air, making the engine run lean. Also, you have throttle body adjustment screws, have you attempted to adjust your idle via the screws? When was the last time you replaced your fuel pressure regulator?
@@808sutube thanks Bob for your feedback I will check those things over the holiday weekend I've had the bike for a couple years and I do my own maintenance I will definitely incorporate the things you suggested to me I'll keep you posted thanks
How did you check the temperature of the water with your multi-meter? In your video, everything important is off the screen.
