Very smart and simple things
Boxing is over 3000 years old. In the "roman times" they boxed with ox skin wraps filled with led. Often until one of them died. imagine those movements..every punch ment death. Every "non defensive boxer" can face some sort of damage to the brain. To take defence serious is very important even today.
"Homer" speaks of seeing a boxing match in hes "illiad".
in the roman times. and the sound of cracking of skulls because of the led fillings.
a gruesome testomony of a time when boxing ment something else than it means today.
Brutal...I can imagine the fear of said fighters fist fighting to the death.
@@ldoubleg2006 a sad story for most of them fighters in that era no doubt..
Thank you coach for sharing your knowledge.
rafael mayrink thanks for watching
thanks coach
Very very useful.
Thanks Coach! I use these techniques that you taught in "Thrill of the Fight" VR and they are very effective. I hope that if I'm ever in a real fight the results will be the same. 😁
Lol I'm pretty sure it is much much much easier on a vr game
Nice keep it up

Bob Roads thanks
another great video!!
WATCHMAKER480 thankyou I'm glad you liked it
Hi Coach Anthony! Do you have drills for learning and improving defense while training outdoors on one's own? With social distancing and since I don't have access to a good boxing gym anyway, I need a way to train and improve my defense skills alone. For training in general, I came up with a few ideas with some good old DIY. For instance, I use a tree when I'm in a park or a lamp-post in the yard in front of my building as a mock opponent. That works for throwing punches but not for defense. Thank you.
golden
As always great video Anthony! If you want, maybe you could do a video analysing some great fights or fighters. For example: 3 things we can learn from julio cesar chavez vs meldrick taylor
yh
Nice video coach. Footwork first line of defense.

Damn good video....
Bro.thanks from your time and knowledge please prepare a clip on how to fight efficient and give powerful punches to the person we are fighting specially in Cage
You got some quality boxing lessons, man. I'm loving your vids so far. You deserve subs.
Great video coach
Marcos Corsi thankyou glad you liked it !
covering up is what people need to learn most of all...and moving at the same time as you got your high guard up and tight. Cause using the high guard to wade absorb the jabs and other shots, getting inside and bombing on them with hooks is very useful; its part of my main strategy in muay thai(and involves me throwing leg kicks, of course, and other strikes; but the standard high guard stance is identical in both sports, and boxing techniques usually work very well in muay thai, just with more strikes available like kicks and knees in sparring).
This video and the blocking video are the best I seen on UA-cam!
Gud skills!stick an move!
Chanced upon your channel and I've certainly struck gold. Thank you coach for such a detailed video (and channel).

Coach Anthony Thanks for the advices coach 🙏👍
great sir
Jina Rival thanks
I appreciate that game caoch and were do you get your custom mitts and gloves made I those mitts.
Boxing, Yo!😁👊👊
Simple logic, simple moves, but effective as fuck.
Thats boxing bro. It's a sweet science of deriving infinitely artistic complexity from humanity's most basic set of proliferative, preferred, and primal tools capable of both creation, and destruction.
You know, our hands.
Run on sentence I know, but I had to go all e e cummings for that one.
i would like to see a video with the right hand placement while boxing. everyone says that i am too wide open and i get hit all the time but if i close my hands more i cant see anything
Straightforward and sensible explanations of effective techniques. Thanks for posting. Great advice.
I’ve notice that when u rollout to the left or eighth u tend to run into hard hooks . I understand that your guard should be up anyways but the step outta range rollout is just must safer and frustrating to the opponent
Attack is the best defense!
It is like a medievel fortress.Once you throw a punch you have the vulnerability also.
Dear Coach Anthony, How do beginner know when is the timing to do counter punch after defensive from competitor's punch? Thanks.
good stuff
Tony Breez thanks 💪💪
Ik these things but I need to know how to do it when I’m sparring but watches video is making me more confident I got the skill but need to work it(no homo)
If you have a skilled friend with a small ego who you can trust in sparring, it always helps to go 75% speed the first 2to4 rounds (depending on how many rounds u go.) Use those few rounds to really work on the techniques you are most uncomfortable with, especially footwork, and distance management. The more days you can do that, you will find those techniques start to move from the first four rounds at 75% speed, into the last 4to6 rounds at full speed.
Best of luck friend.
Anthony Joshua takes the step back to evade punches very well.
when boxing attacking in combos which is more efficient long combinations or short combinations
What brand of gloves are those anyone knows ? Looks very nice.
I think defence is the most important thing in boxing. Out of defence, feling safe, ALL the other boxing teckniques comes naturally.
boxing is the only comat "sport" i know of..wich that EVERY. technique of offence comes from a realistic stance of defence. Every punch is a guard and an attack. at the same time...it is only "in between" the the punches that there is an opening...that is where the bravery comes in..to fight back is the best defence..
@@saltestentta4444 in boxing defense is the best attack
🔥🔥
Unorthadoxxboxing 💯💯💯👊
At 4 mins you say you wont get into what to do after covering up, do you have another video addressing that?
video was badass, can you make a video next on breaking rythmn and offense?
Jon Feuntes Be more specific
+Coach Anthony like when floyd mayweather and guillermo rigondeux set the rhythm that their opponent ends up subconsciously working by. they then break the rhythm and shoot punches without a need of a feint. you know better than me haha im not great with the terminology
More like Coach Drake, Haha get it
where can I get small punch mitts like that?
I got the answer for step one:a few years ago, I fought a dude who kept moving back, when he noticed that I was about to throw a Punch/jab.It fustrated (my spelling is not right)me.So, instead of throwing single punches/jabs, I started to throw like 4 straight quick punches/jabs.He didNOT have an answer to stop my fast attack!I kept going forward towards him and he kept going backwards, Not being able to see where he was going.
So who won ?
feint the jab with the step. like a double step with a feint, then jab and straight. if he circles, feint the straight and go with a hook. leaping left hook is good if you feint and they step back.
Just a question and maybe a vid idea. i see a lot of people saying push a punch or say no no only snap a punch. i see this in beginner and even upto some competitive boxers. i personally snap alot more on my punches but even i something full to pushing my punches.
would be good to have a basic and simple break down on snapping vs pushing.
Covering up is scary one usually gets thru
the best youtube boxing coach is hamlitonkeith

You know he's legit because he has a shirt with his name on it

First = step back ok.. Buy don't forget to STEP FORWARD too, close range is safer than middle range, ask roberto duran :)
