Leo Mancini-Hresko grew up in Boston and attended classes at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts and Rhode Island School of Design. He spent ten years at The Florence Academy of Art, where he began as a student and ended up the Director of the Sculpture Drawing Program. Leo now works and teaches out of his Waltham studio. Notably, Leo was commissioned by The Venerable Tenzin Priyadarshi of the Dalai Lama Center for Ethics and Transformative Values at MIT to do a portrait of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama for the center, and to be presented to the Dalai Lama during his visit to Boston, his 3rd public event with the center at MIT.
Leo's upcoming series introduces the Florence Academy's sight-size drawing method to New Masters Academy students. Join us this Friday, November 9th for a 2-hour live stream event where Leo will demonstrate his method for drawing the portrait and answers questions submitted by you on Facebook and UA-cam.

This is a trip, I was just reading the video description, but before I had read it I was insisting (to myself) that I know this guy... I mean it's weird, and I can't place where it is that I know you from.
And then I read the description, and you're from the area... so now it's gonna drive me nuts! I'm from Fall River, I've been a bass player for....too long, but I just figured out that I can paint and draw, I always got too discouraged and gave up whenever it came to visual arts....
Did I know you through Kevin Goff and Nathan Farias? I used to hang at risd in the late 90's and early 00's...?

We are glad you approve! We have two outstanding courses on sight-size drawing and painting in the works.
@@NewMastersAcademyorgNMA that's really great! The internet lacks an organized and complete course about the academic training. And if you make such course approaching all the aspects as in the Florence Academy, surely it will pay off. As we know, to study at an academy such as Florence Academy can be really, really, REALLY expensive.

Art DRΣΔ7XΛZ it’s an Indian ink wash. The whole process is shown in detail in the full course which launches in October.

Sorry to say that.... Its not matching with the subject... Eyes you drawn are much bigger... Not accurate
It's a great demo and a beautiful drawing but that's what I was thinking. It doesn't really look like him and if someone hasn't had atelier training but think they could do better and get a better likeness, maybe they don't need any schooling after all.. Then again he is having to talk while working and he's in a different position to the camera.
