Hey, I’m a 16 year old fly tier from Montana and have been tying flies since I was 8. I have just recently started taking it seriously and I am thankful for you videos. They have helped me so much over the last couple months. Thank you so much.
Great information as always. Thanks Brian! I was an electrician for 35 years, started tying a few years ago, when local fly shop showed me bead-chain eyes, I had to laugh, I knew All those light fixture “pull chains” I saved would come into use..just had no idea at the time it would be for flies! 😂 Have a good one and thanks again! 👍👍🎣
Brian, off topic but I think you have one of the best backgrounds of any of us UA-cam fly tiers. The dinosaur and lightning bolt? I need to up my game! Oh yeah, great video by the way. I loved the tip on how the placement of the eyes, and how forward or aft can really affect the jigging action. (PS: I'm not commenting to win any flies-- the last thing I need is more flies around here. :-) )
Ha!!! Thanks!!
Thank you. As a new tyer your explanation of dumbbell positioning was extremely helpful.
Great video, the rain is barely noticable. No better day to make streamers than hard rainy days. Very helpful and keep them coming!👍👍🏴☠️
Thanks for showing the correct way to tie on weighted eyes. Very clear instructions and video!
Dumbbell eyes have been my enemy, they always spin on me. Thanks for the video.
Thank you. That was a good explanation of tying the dumbell eyes. the tying under the dumbell was something I hadn't seen before. Great tips.
Thank you for making videos explaining this stuff!
Wish I’d seen this video when I was new to tying. But videos didn’t exist then 😂
I really liked the discussion on the fact that heavy thread and pressure are really critical to keeping eyes in place. Took me a long time to figure that out.
A solid guide on how and why when tying with dumbbell eyes
Agree 100% on not adding glue or uv resin. They break loose regardless. Great video as always
Very timely. Getting ready to build up my clouser inventory.
Was at both the club meeting presentation and the fly tying class - great job combining expert information and having fun!
Really excellent description of how to tie in dumbbell eye & their placement.
I just started tying flies and branching out to steamers this channel is a huge help!
Thanks for the constant wealth of info, my tying is getting much better directly from lots of these tips and tricks.
Keep Em' Coming! I prefer a drop of glue before I tie the eyes in, so many people do it after. Glue it, and then bind it, don't just coat the thread wraps.
Never noticed the buck tail storage dude I love that idea.
Good morning BRIAN from the GSM of North Carolina....Great video.. Over the years I have 100s of Clouser minnows.I don't use glue either.Great video. Ken
If you put a little dubbing on the hook where you are going to tie the eyes in it helps keep them in place a little better. Nice video as always
Hey great video. The best tip I ever had for ever had was Bob Clouser ties in a small thread bump places the eyes behind it and wraps the usual way. Figure eight then under the in top of the hook. Tightens it up so nice. Once again thanks for all your info and videos.
I have been looking for a good video on dumbbell eyes and have found it! Thank you for the great explanations. I am looking forward to the next one.
Been tying for years but its always good to see how others do things. It helps me out in my own tying. Thanks for the videos.
I really do love the double pupils. The fluorescent colors are very UV sensitive to boot 🔥🔥
very timely for me since I am starting in with some dumbell eyes.
Appreciated the part about the placement of the eyes and eyelet and how it affects the jig motion
Funny thing you dropped this video today, last night I tied me first dungeon and after finished I realized I tied dumbell on top of hook haha
You do a great job teaching these things. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the video. Can’t wait for part two
Solid as always. Keep cranking awesome vids!
Always great explanations and tips! Thanks!
Awesome video bud! We had an awesome time having you down here in Memphis. Keep up the good work!!!!!
Great video. A few years back I tied some flies with the eyes on the wrong side, got the third one done and realized they weren’t going to swim how I wanted.
Always enjoy your videos. Really looking forward to the 2nd part of the series of putting materials around the eyes.
Looking forward to part 2!
Great tips as always, keep them coming!
Thanks, as always, for the useful video. Keep them coming!!!!

I also love seeing..(ok ok..sure you get the point now...) you sending out packages to your viewers after watching you get so many. Keep up the good work. Would be great to have you come to Caster's Fly Shop in Hickory, NC for a class.

Nice information on tying in eyes will try it next time.
Good video 👍. Looking forward to the one on building heads!
Another informative video from the OG of streamer vids. Love each and everyone of these!!!! FFTO on repeat while I'm stuck in the hospital! Thanks Brian!!!
I had zero idea that I can control the action by moving the eye. I am just getting started tying so I am excited about finding you.
Thanks for you videos I appreciate your explanation on this topic… tight lines!!!
Great video, as always! I really appreciate the thread pressure and no glue. Pressure is so important. BRAVO!!
Fantastic video sir Brian wise I love how each of you tying tips video packed great and helpful info but especially this one cause I've had a lot of problems tying in dumbbell eyes. Thank you sir cheers.
Great explanation on sink rates of materials. When designing a streamer it is critical to getting it to do what you want!!!👍👍
Great information thanks can't wait for the next one 🙂
Good information Brian
Thanks for the video
Love these videos, great job
New to rying. Learned a lot. Great vid.
Love the videos Brian! It would be great to see you tie Bob Popovics Beast Fleye on mono straights!
First time watching you and it was very informative. I’m just starting to learn how to tie flies.
Love the video. I'd be freaking out if I didn't have any beadchain. I tie/use too many Whistlers to run out of beadchain. Can't wait for the next video.
Thanks for the video. Great tutorial. Love me some jig hooks for my clousers.
Hi I’m from Quebec Canada. You are truly interested and your fly tying tips are good
Great video always enjoy your tips
Great video this is how I do mine but I just guess on how to do it these videos are a really great way to learn new skills and are always educational great job 👍🤟🇨🇦
I love your video very informative!!!
I live in Arkansas and hope to meet and tie with you one day. Learned to tie streamers from your videos, another banger as always!
I find those thread wraps under the eyes, on top of the hook shank are really important from preventing the eyes from rolling around the shank. Great tip! Also liked the tip about the tread pressure, getting those wraps tight is critical for fly durability.
Love these tips posts!
Checking in from the White Mountain Apache Tribe in Arizona🤟🏽
Keep up the great work!
Awesome tips sir!
Thank you for the video and tips
Love the video , I'm very new at fly tying I would like to see a video on how to finish tying a bucktail jig or flie. Thanks
Great videos man and the giveaway is really cool...spread the love man 🎣🐛🇺🇸
Thanks for sharing the information. Informative. 🇦🇺
Nice! Keep up the work!
Solid information!
Thanks a lot for the tips 👍
Nice job that's how I tie them all the time have never had a problem..
Nice, never thought about gel spun not being good to tie in dumb bells.
Love these vids
Thanks for posting.
Great video!
Great tips on tying in the eyes. One more reason to stay away from gel spun on lead eyes is that when pulled tight the gel spun can and will slice through the lead eyes. This won't happen with other eye materials bit I've had it happen a ton with lead eyes.
Great video, as always! You need a ceiling fan in your studio-that way you always have a supply of bead chain 😉
Hahaha!! Love it!
Great tips! What are your thoughts on putting a thread base/dubbing or chenille down before adding in the eyes?
I thought you lost your way for a second and began tying perdigons XD 😆
