    Do you think corn flour would work?

      Yes, it will work, however the process is a little different. You will need to omit the flour stage (obviously) and add the cornstarch swirlie (1 heaping tablespoon cornstarch to 1/4 cup water) once it starts to boil. Everything else is the same. I hope that makes sense.
