Same here. Ever since my first fox back in 2009 i put a set of flow 40s and had them on every fox since, but i did find a set of old mac’s as well burried in my shop and put it on my early 2000s build gt40 headed b303 and the bbk shortys and xpipes with the Mac’s with turn downs and it sounds amazing. That cars staying with the mac’s i love the sound chop at idle and the rasp of it when you blip the throttle
I wanted to be different and went with a newer company called Paradox. I'm running their 3in signature series straight through mufflers. The have a proprietary "tuning fork" design that eliminates drone. I think they sound very good with a unique bullet muffler sound and absolutely no droning. Still can't beat the 40 series Flowmaster.
Personally I like the og flowmasters. Just what I grew up with. Even though I have vintage Thrush 4 chamber on one of my foxes and old school hooker mufflers on the other.
A good buddy of mine set up a test years ago with his high 9 second 84 Mustang GT. He prebuilt the exhaust so he could quickly swap out the muffler/tube/tip for multiple different companies. I don’t remember all the different players, but the benefit was everything was tested at the track on the same car and same day. The Flowmasters arguably sounded better but cost the most power despite being run in the beginning/coolest part of the day. The winners were the Vibrants. They were tested in the worst heat of the day and still showed the biggest gain. I wound up buying those same Vibrants from him and they sounded incredible on my car. Hope you enjoy them !
@@skipgumphrey9579 this is what I like to hear! Being a straight through design, they should make the most power. But the sound is something that I need to hear.
@skipgumphrey9579 makes sense, restriction is restriction. Straight through obviously flows best. Unless it's a turbo, then the restriction causes more intake volume and then extra fuel makes more power. Lesson is, highest power muffler is a turbo... 😂
The new inferior brake cleaner is another product you can thank California for. The country has adopted the CA formula. O’Reillys used to have two different types but now is just one. The cheapest place I’ve found the stuff is at Menards if you have one near you. Their house brand is usually $3.49 per can which is cheaper than anyone else around me for the aerosol cans.
If you turbocharged the 387 can you still run e85 and what would be the max you pushed it cause some people say it’s bad to turbo a high compression motor unless your tunner is like a mastered professional 😂 love the vids fr❤
I think you really should try some spin tech mufflers. The best ones are the 9000 series. My buddy has them on his Silverado and the truck sounds like a c7 corvette.
I watched a video comparing the original 40s to Delta 50s, and the 50s were always 5-7db quieter in the car, at idle, cruise, or any acceleration. That's a big difference to your ears especially if you drive a lot. Significantly less drone and makes more power with the Delta flow. On the outside it's almost as loud as the 40s but deeper. If you have a set of those, I'd like to hear them.
Years ago I replaced Dynomax Super Turbos with 40 series 2-chamber..."American Thunder" as they called it back in the day. Still sound amazing, nothing else like it. But the Foxbody needs an H-pipe for that classic sound.
1000% better than the 40's. Mac still wins. Those Vibrants look like a stainless version of the mid-mufflers used on modern cars - should sound awesome
I stepped away from the Flowmaster brand they have a unique sound, but I needed more. I believe the dynomax mufflers are beast mode also black widow mufflers are bad ass. I run dynomax race bullets the long version and they sound way better than the flowmaster 40’s I used to have
Good video! Never had the Delta's but, I have 3" Mac's on my orange Mustang, 2 1/2 44's stainless Flowmaster's on my green car. flowmaster 40's on my blue car. They each have there own sound but, kind of the same!
I thought I was losing my mind when it came to brake cleaner. I've tried a few brands, and it's all terrible. I got a bulk package recently, and not only does it barely clean anything, but the can empties in seconds. Some of the stuff I got is about $1/second to use.
I have super 40s on my car. I love the Flowmaster sound. Can't wait for those Vibrant mufflers though, I'm very curious. I've only ever heard them on Mopar V8s.

For me, the 40 2 chamber is amazing at idle and WOT. ...I didn't love it on a daily driver maybe. But the idle, on a GT Cam? Excellent.
Just scored an original cat back flowmaster exhaust in excellent condition. Still says flowmaster on the stainless tips!
I liked them all but the mac's just hit different.
agreed
I'm still running my Flowmaster 40s that I got in the 90s❤
thats what im talking about!

Spintech mufflers I like the way they sound
I think those sound the best yet.
The Mac's still sound the best to me. Flowmaster's have that hollow sound where the Mac's are a little more raspy.

Neo, puts out some serious effort, thanks bud.. bet you had some bad azz matchbox cars in the 80s. Yuh know the ones with rubber white letter tires.
Haha for sure.
I like the exhaust comparison videos man those flowmasters are hard to beat. Heck I like all of them lol!

Nothing like Flowmaster sounds, I need to look at my part number on the Flowmasters I'm running
OG 2 chambers is what me and a few buddies ran. Sbf, sbc and bbc. Dad still has 3" 3 chambers on his '34 Plymouth with a Dart 427 (sbc based).
Nice !

Sweet! I've been waiting for this video! Love the flowmaster 2 chambers on a 5 litre.
I used roadrunner mufflers on my beast
Very tough deciding on the delta's or the 40's, just run one on each side. 😆😆

not really. I mean its not much different but theres parts of the RPM you can tell. Also at idle as you can see.

Hard no on chambered crap, straight through stainless perforated core FTW Chambered is a restriction.
I do not like the borla or magnaflow sound, tgey are a crappy sound. Loss of HP, I don't care. My current is oldskool dynomax 2.5" with 2 cats.
