I love that Saoirse is becoming more and more relevant. She deserves it 100%. She's an amazing actress. I can see her following the footsteps of Meryl Streep.
I think when they get married in 1962... it's really a story about the fifties they grew up in, the damage that did to them, and how they are just about to miss out on what the sixties will bring.

Great actors but the seriously, the plot.. About a girl who's afraid to have sexual intercourse and a guy who leaves her for that. What kind of plot is this? I can't be bothered to watch.
There's a lot of complexity to it. The time period makes a difference where people are on the cusp of becoming more sexually liberated but many young people are still quite naive. Sex is also a very emotional thing and feelings of rejection and inadeqaucy can be overwhelming.
I can't think of anything worse to watch, I hope it's got a Motocross bike and depth charges going off in the background to make up for the dull shit bits
