@@tiagoantonio564 It's a little too simple and cutsey for men. I understand why women like it though. It's the kind of advice that would make me smile if it was given in a domestic circle, but in the "big world," it would be out of place as a joke, and dangerous if taken seriously.
I suggest some of my favourite period romance movies and series: "the age of innocence", "Rebecca", "Emma 2020, Emma 2009"," Pride and prejudice 1995", "North and south", "Little women", "Crimson peak", "Persuation", "Daniel Deronda", "Jane Eyre", "The great Gatsby" ❤️😁
Atonement. The exception. Anna Karenina. The Danish girl. Alias Grace (series) the bone fire of destiny (although French: which I suggest watching it in French!)
When I read the title, I think to myself: "Hmm, that sounds like a stupid title." Then the British guy says the title and I think (with a British accent): "Well that sounds rather elegant! 🤔". 😂🤣
While watching, i find myself squealing like teenage girls way too many times!! It’s far from cheesy, it’s meaningful and romantic. Book lovers would LOVE this movie!
Emotional movie, but beautiful! I actuallly had tears in my eyes. Michiel Huisman and Lilly James are beautiful together! Loved it from the beginning till the end.
@@fromthehaven94 How about "Night of the Day of the Dawn of the Son of the Bride of the Return of the Revenge of the Terror of the Attack of the Evil, Mutant, Alien, Flesh Eating, Hellbound, Zombified Living Dead Part 2: In Shocking 2-D"?
This movie is SOOO much more interesting than the trailer suggests. The trailer seems to portray it as a romance between Juliet and Dawsey, but it has so many other stories and characters.
I have watched this seven times in four days since finding it on Netflix. Great actors, good story, and it’s a wonderful distraction from all the ugliness in politics. Amelia Maugery’s distressed, “I understand nothing. Nothing,” breaks my heart each time.
There's a certain sadness to the story, it carries with you... Unbeliavable and yet it teaches the most unbearable lessons we don't share in our times through friendship, isolation, famine, and most of all love for books! ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
I have been trying to find a way to watch this movie since it came out in April! It’s one of my absolute fave novels and I was running out of options, short of flying to England and seeing it in the cinema there. Thank you so much for getting this, Netflix!
protter43 I loved this book it was amazing , though I don’t think the film was a stinker I do believe it was rather rushed and didn’t give people who didn’t read the book enough time to get to know the characters
j michelle you will love and cry over that scene where she was wearing that pretty long black dress. I sobbed at Mark's unexpected gesture at the end 😭
This movie warmed my heart so much. Great acting and what a touching, human story. I didn't think I was going to enjoy this nearly as much as I did. Highly recommend it!
I'm just reading the book my niece gave me as a gift for Xmas 2020 and I love it. Brilliantly written by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows. Will watch the Film after reading the book
I watched this film in an outdoor cinema in the Australian outback and felt so homesick as I’m from Guernsey! Was so surprised to see it showing there. Great film
I'm so excited that this came out!! I was on vacation 3 years ago and the only book they had in my language was this! I read it twice and I was thinking - why isn't this popular? Only randomly found out about this movie yesterday and I must say - I'm in love ❤
THIS MOVIE IS ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES I HAVE SEEN IN ALONG TIME. I FELL IN LOVE WITH THE STORY THE CHARACTERS THE TIMELINE. I HAVE GOOSEBUMPS EVERY TIME I HAVE SHOWN PEOPLE THE TRAILER. I WILL BE WATCHING IT AGAIN TODAY!! THANK YOU FOR WONDERFUL TIME SPENT! OXOXOX
Why can’t you find this on DVD?everything is either in region 2-3-4…USA is region 1 and I can’t find it anywhere to play on DVD players in USA..They won’t play…
This movie may not be perfect, but it is full of heart. If you are tired of cynical movies, then definitely watch this. But if you like the romance genre, then it is just a must see.
On Goodreads I voted for this book in: Best Book Ever. It made me cry and laugh in train full of people. Looked like and idiot and didn´t care. I have to add I have this aversion against books with real war themes, pacifist in me is crying out loud CRIME! But this book is beautiful. Beautiful.
