Well done! Have seen people go through 6+ "half measures" that didn't work. Finally the post rots and has to be replaced. Don't recall seeing that kind of latch before. Pretty slick!
I liked it but I would suggest connecting the cross brace to the dead man. Overtime soil will shift and that will ensure it supports the post if to starts to pull apart.
An ingenious solution! I'd call that a "reverse deadman," but what do I know, lol. I bought my place in 2015 and am still learning the ins and outs of fencing -- Currently staring at a 20 ft gap between a gate and a tree that was supposed to function as a pull post but didn't work out. Time for Plan B (whatever that is)!
I like your ideas and fixes for your fencing.
Just Moved onto a small ranch and am learning a lot! Thanks!
Glad to help!
Thanks for watching.

Thank you just what I needed. Your time and effort in making the video is greatly appreciated.

I might go back and shoot a screw from bracket to brace.
What kind of latch is that? I like it

Genius! Thank you!
Wow... I don't get called THAT very often :)

I might have added sides to the angle iron to create a cup, just in case a cow or bull gives it a good shove, but nice job anyways.
I thought about that.
I might come back and shoot a screw from the bracket to the brace.
Nice just what I need it to say lol
Hahaha... glad I could help!
I lak it ;)
Seriously the problem is that it was installed wrong to begin with and the fix is still not the way it should have been done in the first place.
It works.
Is this Mathew McConaughey? LOL You kind of sound like him.
You're the 2nd one this week to say so hahaha
You like me, you can’t find no good help, gotta do everything yourself.............
Yep, and yep :)
Have to say there is a much better, easier and robust way of doing this.
should have waited until the finish.
