the way it builds up from fuzzy background to a wall of clarity is great, but then Mike just kept adding layers and callbacks to the earlier part of the song; the intensity at its peak is amazing. fantastic song for a great part of a classic film.
Remember when movies had action movie scores like this pretty regularly? Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat Annihilation, Blade 1, 2 and 3, Matrix 1, 2 and 3… Now that fad is dead and only occasional movies like this attempt to revive it.
You can't compare this movie to Dredd 3D. Dredd is like a guns-blazing shoot em' up! The Raid is like a martial arts shoot em' up! Plus Dredd started production before The Raid, so nobody ripped anyone off!
if people compare the two of them, then both films ripped of the first die hard film. the only similarities they have are being trapped in a building with crackhead criminals
Knife in upper thigh, pulling to knee, I screamed out loud, then knife in knee bent and broken blade, omg this was the very first time I had to look away in an martial arts fight... and soon enough, stabstab double hit then thrown against the wall, wtf...
Actually, this comments section strongly motivated me. So I`ve created an extended version of the original track. I hope you`ll like it after 5 years of waiting.
This and specially the second film raid 2, was one of the best martial arts movie ever really. One of the most realistic martial arts movie ever made :) Bravo Indonesia :) I love this music so much btw
Exactly. The Expendables was a flop even in the action department which it so eagerly advertised ,nothing but aged old men doing unimpressive stuns with stunt doubles with a few firefights here and there.
Thst is what The Expendables was all about. Lmao. Old school action stars with present day action stars making a cheesy action film. If you expected an actual real 10/10 action movie you had high hopes. Its a perfect trilogy to get all your action stars in one movie and feel nostalgia from the 80's, 90's, 00's action flicks into one. Christ, even Norris had to make an appearance and come out of retirement to do his scenes. Because it is Chuck fuckin Norris.
Loved this movie. And the soundtrack was on point. I just wish Mike Shinoda would bring Linkin Park back to their roots and sound like this again. The stuff they're putting out now is just pure CRAP.
For those who are engaging in the Dredd vs The Raid quarrel, allow me to give you a challenge. Watch both movies in the same day, back to back, as many times as you can tell me one is a ripoff of the other. The idea worked for both movies, and each of them had their own delivery. The only notable similarities were that the action and the music both complimented each other masterfully. To those who call out the Americans for making a shit Dredd movie, remember where 2000AD came from, you twats.
That techno part hits the spot man.
Reminds me of Combichrist - Get Your Body Beat

It's my favourite part. I love that part of the fight scene too.
I still not understand your saying
2:45 real shit begins
On all levels
I wish this shit was longer than this. It was the first time in my life that I wanted a shit so badly bad badder baddest in my entire shitty life.
9 years later and hearing that part flare up always gets the nerves rushing.
Right
1:34 MY GOD!
you can only listen to that with a good headphone that has loud Bass!
Mike Shinoda and Joe Trapanese did an amazing great job man
xin0 There's not a music related thing , that Mike can't do...
One cop vs 4 machete gangsters, I said:"He is going to die" and the director answer me in the film "Nope"
Aldo Rodriguez gereth will never kill rama
you mean 4 black papuans...
Rama fought like a man to these songs
Is so cool how it starts being a great song and ends with a great dubstep
That's not dubstep...
lol u have no idea what you're talking about
It's techno not dubstep...
@@michaelkb8-245 Being incorrect about minutiae is inconsequential.
Holy shit, I never knew the legend himself Mike Shinoda composed this soundtrack!
When you and the only enemy left have no ammo

Why compare when both movies are kickass : )
yeah same format, but both movies are epic!
if people compare the two of them, then both films ripped of the first die hard film. the only similarities they have are being trapped in a building with crackhead criminals
who tf compared those two lmao? COMPLETELY DIFFERENT
@@juhannusruusu TONS of people
Hallway fight with the knife and nightstick had an entirely different score.
LiuShenTong yeah diff6from rest.. very well going with the situation
Doom music: im the best action music ever made
Machete standoff: *hold my machete*
Both of them are the best in their own different ways
Doom is when it's a massacre and you're the one doing it.
Raid is when both parties are evenly matched when doing it.
yo...IN THE HALLWAY......when he started fighting with the nightstick and knife....OMG!!!! and this score played.....CHILLZZZ
Best fight music ever wow
amazing film
Knife in upper thigh, pulling to knee, I screamed out loud, then knife in knee bent and broken blade, omg this was the very first time I had to look away in an martial arts fight... and soon enough, stabstab double hit then thrown against the wall, wtf...
You know what first came to my mind...? "FATALITY..."
2:45 best moment
*Proceeds to throw man off windows*
I will use this when playing rainbow six at part 2:45
So much energy!
Can somebody good with audio please please make an extended version of 2:45 onwards...many of us would be in your debt!
Still no respond eh?

If there's ever a remake of Streets of Rage, this NEEDS to play somewhere in there.
The way they scream when machete hacked into their flesh was my favorite.

Good movie, too bad its one of those movies where you can watch it once or twice and that's it, gets boring fast. Dredd 3D was better IMO
