I have a 9900X and it ran like an absolute turd on 23H2, so I just wiped it and installed 10. Instant 20-30% performance buff. In CP2077 at the 1440p gaming settings I run with RT on I gained 17fps.
@@rodrigorras The problem was I only had a key for 11 so I used it, I ended up buying another 10 key afterwards. You can go form 10 to 11 but not the other way around.
What I’m going to say to reviewers is if you use the 7200 CL34 or 7600 CL36 RAM kits for LGA1700, it’s only fair to use 6000 CL28 on AM5. Otherwise you’re artificially creating an advantage for Intel.
The vast, vast majority of Ryzen chips will not do CL28. It doesn't even matter anyways, CL is not very important on DDR5 platforms to begin with. Tighten the sub-timings and then we'll get somewhere.
@@arc00ta The f does CL28 have anything to do with Ryzen CPUs? I can run CL28 at just 1.095V VSOC while the default is 1.2V - 1.25V. And who's talking about tweaking subtimings anyway? We're talking about fairness in a review. Stock for stock CL28 is still faster, not to mention the fact that many CL30 kits have higher tRCD, tRP and tRAS timings.
@@PowellCat745 Its not though. It literally doesn't matter. If you want to go max effort with something like 6400 CL28 on a golden sample IMC, then intel should get 8200 CL34.
@@arc00ta Most intel CPUs can’t run stably past 7600. Just stop lmao. Asking reviewers to use comparable memories while acknowledging bandwidth advantages for Intel is not the same as your nonsense.
If possible, in the future, I would like to see video footage of the benchmark runs with Avg FPS, 1%, .1%, clockspeed, voltage, power, etc, displayed so that we can see the benchmark run and see how each CPU is performing. Thanks!
I am happy with my 7950x , the launch benchmark looks doesnt worth upgrade , not sure how new windows help both 7950 and 9950 But likely i can skip this generation ?
why would you only test the 9950x with the new version of windows since the data isn't comparable to the other ryzen cpu's when they are running the older build of windows
The way I look at it, a cpu &/or memory tweak in bios may give ~2-5% performance boost+ GPU tweaking (MSI afterburner etc) may give ~5% performance boost + GPU driver update may give ~2% performance boost + Windows 24H2 update ~5-10% performance boost = 14-22% performance boost to an AMD pc which another generation of GPU tier fps performance which is awesome imo 🥰😇💪👍
To this day I am perplexed how all channels, including yours are testing 9950X (no offense, just perplexing) I am beating 13900k and 7950x3D in 1% and 0.1% lows with 9950X, 9950X nears 7950x3D in averages, and wins decisively against 13900k in maximum and average FPS, as much as 30-40 FPS Then reviews like yours show it loses to 7950X that cannot even saturate RTX4080, but 9950X utilizes RTX4090 in 1080p to 88-91%, while 7950x3D is closer to 92% gpu usage Mysterious benchmarks, I swear. Our charts have a small typo with the Ryzen 9 9950x where we’ve got it as a Ryzen 7. We are working to fix this issue is UA-cam allows.
mate, have you tested with AGESA 1202? Because it solves the CCX latency issues...
WIndows 24H2 is now released. The test from HBU actually seem boost between 24H2 final version
When comparing Windows versions, don't forget to include Windows 10 in the benchmarking.
I want to say that
for the games that run 200+ fps it will show some decent gains for windows 10. makes 240 hrtz so smooth
It's not worth the time testing it when end of life is a mere 1 year away, at which point continuing to use Windows 10 will be a security risk.
I am just glad I formatted Windows 11 and went back to Windows 10.

I would say the only thing that should have also been considered is how performance of the 7950X changed with 24H2.

my ryzen 9 9950x is runing ram 66000mhz CL30 1:1
The thing is they weren't made as gaming CPU's, AMD even said they weren't going to perform aswell as the X3d chips.
Exactly, the X series is consumer class that favors productivity gains, the X3D variant is designed for gaming.

9950X is Ryzen 9, not Ryzen 7. Just a heads up.
don't wait for 9000 x3d parts.. the lauch of 9000 actually increased the price of the 7800x3d

Are you sure that the Ryzen 9 7900x is the second faster?
Did you make sure you didn’t install the MS branch prediction update for 23H2? Because if you did your results are pretty useless.
Test it on Linux to see how Microsoft is throttling AMD to help Intel... 💥
I can't wait to buy the 9950X

Don't you need to disable core isolation?
I'll wait for the Ryzen 9950X3D to see how it stacks up against the 7950X3D.

Love to hear from you about the world best processor
Average fps 7900x = 7800x3d? Wtf?
And where is the 24H2 7950X?
And now Test Windows 10 22h2. You will see better gains and better Low fps than W11
