What a wonderful comfort this song was when I lost my husband last year to Covid. I know that he is waiting for me in Heaven and that I will see him again one day.
That is simple words, but profound truth, and also great comfort: Those who trust in you, will in your mercy find, that it is not death to die. Should be performed at every funeral henceforth! God Bless!
Had it sung at mom's service about a month ago. She trusted wholly in Jesus, and she has found that is not death to die (physically), but a freedom from this world's hurt, pain, and disappointment. Had lots of good comments on the song.
When I faced what I thought was a serious health crisis in my life, my Pastor wisely asked me and said "So What?". It was actually the kindest thing to say to remind me in hope of Jesus Our Christ. All glory be Christ Jesus forevermore. Thank you Jesus for the true HOPE you are and have always been.
There is a verse from "Christ Our Glory", another Sovereign Grace song: Our rest is in heaven, our rest is not here Then why should we tremble when trials draw near? Be still and remember the worst that can come But shortens our journey and hastens us home Been feeling that more and more the older I get (and since my cancer diagnosis, even though it's not terminal cancer.) And now, although I am grateful for each second I have here on earth, with the passing of each loved one, my longing to join them grows stronger.
Another verse came to mind from "Less Like Scars" by Sara Groves: It's less like a casket, more like a womb Less like dying, more like transcending Less like fear, less like an ending
I saw this on Wretched. It's absolutely beautiful. One of my younger sister's friends recently lost her grandmother; thankfully, she was saved. We all look forward to seeing our Lord.
I've loved this song for a very long time. My grandma just died this week, but the theology that frames this very song is the reason that I've had nothing but comfort this week. Everyone else in the family had a very hard time dealing with the ordeal, and though it's not an exciting time for those if us here and now, I rejoice, and excitedly look forward to the moment my grandma had just experienced.
Soli DEO Gloria. "But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14
We had this song by Sovereign Grace played at my husbands funeral about 18 months ago. It is still one of my favorite songs and gives me so much comfort.
This glorious word in song should be learned now for soon coming days. They overcame him by the look of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives even unto death.some already know this song in reality, brothers and sisters of the Cross who are suffering in Iraq, North Korea, Pakistan, India, China,Vietnam, etc. what hope is our in Jesus Christ our Lord and King!
For some reason I was drawn to this song a week or two ago. I think He was preparing me because my dear friend Aaron was killed in a head-on collision.
I'd like to play this for my Daddy's funeral next week. The church doesn't have a way to play UA-cam. Could we extract this and use it....or can you send it to me? Thanks...
Galatians 5:9 KJV A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. 1 Timothy 6:9-10 KJV But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. [10] For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. You should deactivate these ungodly adds playing through these holy songs for your own's and for the sake of others' sake. Blessings.

It is not death to see
The suffering of today
Be out-shined for eternity
In glorious displays (Romans 8:18)
Wow! I love these words too! Would love to see another verse added to this song!
