I’ve got a 90’s country band and my mini Ego is an always on pedal, it sits right behind my tuner in front of the chain. That and a slapback are my must have, always on effects that make my tone. No reverb, slap only. I also have an affinity for an 80s Boss pedal that stays on my board the PH-1r Phaser. Thanks for the great Country guitar content, which is severely lacking on Guit-Tube! Appreciate it !
Interesting. I have tried Keeley compressors and have ended up selling them. For guitar I am currently using a TC Electronic Forcefield compressor. I leave it on all the time. No need for a tone knob because the highs are still there when compressor is on. The Forcefield is transparent and it doesn't mess with (or colour) the sound of the guitar. I also use, sometimes, an Effectrode PC-2A compressor. It does take a bit of top end off (like most compressors) but the trade off is that the PC-2A makes the guitar sound "velvety". The PC-2A is lovely with an acoustic guitar. For bass I use an Origin Effects Cali76 compact bass compressor. Also use a TC Spectracomp compressor. Both of these are quality compressors for bass. The Cali 76 is easier to dial in a sound whereas the Spectracomp take a bit of work to get it right but when you do, it sounds very good.
I havent caught your pedal board video. Where do you stand on thw como at beginning or end of chain, ie, predirt or post dirt? Have you ever ran one front and back? You can REALLY shape your tone with diff tweaked comps before and after. Im only running one but i live w the daily temptation. My ego comp, my belle, a handmade boutique/bougie version of the euphoria are my mainstays. Matt if youve never tried the EHX GLOVE, You should spend some time w it. We have similar tastes in tone. It can do/be sooo may sounds. Ehx warden, i have to give props to it as well. Most underrated, possibly in top 2-3 comp pedqls ive ever played.
I have tried running two and I haven’t quite got what I want out of it yet. We will possibly do a video on that soon. I run my compression like 2nd in chain essentially. Wah pedal first. And awesome man I haven’t tried the Glove or Warden yet but I just looked them up and I like it!

Ego is the country standard these days
Have a picture of a chicken in a wine press. Fully compressed chicken! Love your shirt and channell. Big fan of your country gospel piano too Ben.
Thanks friend maybe we will bring the chicken piano out soon😀
Old CS-2 been on my board 30 years. Good stuff chicken jam guys!
That’s a good 1 and hard to find these days😃👍
Shirt idea: say "squash it!",
then show a squash dropping on a compressor pedal... 😉
That is amazing!
There happens to be a compressor I’m quite fond of that I think you guys should try…
Hey friend just found your channel great stuff!
Put the chicken back in pickin'. Compressor Pedals 2024!!! When your pluck clucks, country is great again!!!

That’s cool man yes I used the Cali 76 for a little while also. I haven’t heard of the PC-2A but I’m intrigued now lol I’ll check it out!
