  • Both these locks are basically the same apart from two vital differences which can often catch locksmiths out when replacing the centre case.

    I've come across the thinner bolt version only twice in my area in 9 years! First one really threw me off, like you said.. Off to the van to grab a gearbox thinking it's the usual one and nope, first one was around xmas time and I didn't want to wait on ordering the correct one so I think I switched out the little broken rack and pinion gear part that is usuaully the failure point in these, can be fiddly to do..

    To the eye they practically look identical. Great expansion Derek, I'd there a huge difference in price on the two ERA gearboxes?

      Thanks for watching Roy both are the same price with some distributors you have to order a ERA with thin bolt.
