Great video Jay. With regard to the Yamaha YCL-650, I bought a secondhand one recently after seeing a UA-cam Shorts video with John Kurokawa playing one. He made it sound fantastic so I'm sure any issue will either be related to the player's technique, the mouthpiece/reed combination, or the fact that the specific horn has some setup issues.
@@faeriesmak It is a beautiful horn and sounds good to me. However, I've only ever played on one other model so not much to compare it to. Plus that was in the 80s and it was an old plastic Boosey and Hawkes Regent. I took a chance and couldn't justify anything more expensive...happy so far!!
@@faeriesmak Although I took a punt, I based my purchase on this review from the wonderful British player Simon Bates ua-cam.com/video/8jXDQe-dHnY/v-deo.htmlsi=IQy5HC-B6YTNOl0w

Thanks for the insight on that! I can only infer things about instruments that I have not played myself. It's great to have confirmation on that :)
How do you like it?
