What a great grassroots perspective on long distance bike touring. Your warnings about riding the dangerous TransCanada Highway are well founded and should be adhered to. Nathan Starzynski has a cross-Canada UA-cam video series as well and fortunately avoided almost all of the highly trafficked areas. I feel sorry for the three of you that your bikes were so ill equipped to withstand all the extra weight involved in such an adventure. Hopefully you can remind people of the importance of using a high quality touring bicycle with quality rims, spokes and derailleurs before they take on a similar challenge. Just Keep Pedaling!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! We really appreciate your kind words and insights. Nathan Starzynski’s videos were a huge inspiration for us to take on this journey-we absolutely love his content and the way he tackled the route. We definitely would have preferred to spend less time on the TCH, but after taking our time enjoying the Maritimes, we found ourselves on more of a time crunch than expected with winter quickly approaching. Balancing the experience with the need to reach our destination in time was definitely a challenge. We were fortunate to all have Kona Sutras, so thankfully the frames were rock solid throughout the trip. However, in hindsight, we’d definitely switch to tubeless tires and higher-quality racks to avoid some of the flats and maintenance issues we faced along the way. Thanks again for your support and encouragement-it means a lot. Just keep pedaling! 🚴♂💪
This was a great overview video of biking across Ontario! This province is no joke and you guys encountered some massive challenges! Congratulations!!!
Thanks for watching! The frames held up fine, but looking back, we started off way overloaded with gear, which probably added to the wear and tear. Lesson learned, but we powered through and finished strong! Appreciate your support! Just keep pedaling :)
EPIC!!
@@valk7023 thanks for watching 🙏

We’ll never forget our time in Ontario! I’m sure you won’t either 😊 Thanks for watching!
@JamesDeerAdventures ya, Ontario is rather special with some hidden gems!!! Cheers!
Right on guys! Unlucky with the bike issues. Could it have been quality control issues with the bikes? Lots of wear and tear but keep pedaling lads!
