      Question, his 247 total drive, what was his carry distance and ball speed? Great videos I always watch and take your drills to the range. I’m 62 and would love to get those distances. My club speed is the same as his but I’m not getting that distance.

    I love how you show the miss hits as well (sorry Leo!) Because we're all guilty of doing this, but no UA-cam videos ever show you the build up after the drills! Great stuff! Top work Danny and Leo!

    Danny, I love e when you use Liam because he represents the majority of us and to watch him get better in real time is extremely motivating. Not to mention how hilariously contagious the sound of you guys laughing is. We get a great lesson as well as a great morning lung clearing with the humor. Please keep up the great work as always and bring Liam back more often🤣🤣🤣

    Danny, I love these live lessons. I’ve been practicing the fire downward method and yesterday I hit my longest drive ever close to 250yds on a par 5. This set me up to smash my 5 wood right to the front on the green. My first ever putt for eagle! Thank you for all you do to help golfers like me improve.

    Once again, a tip that I used from you and it changed my swing. I am a 12 hcp, but I have been loosing distance as I got older and as I fine tune my game. I wish I had seen this 15 years ago, to know that I left yards on the table when younger is a little frustrating, but this helped me to strike it better and with power. Thank you

    Danny, you are an excellent teacher and communicator. So many great players cannot teach because they cannot describe what they are doing. One classic example is Ernie Els saying "Just do this. " I have reaped rewards from your videos. Thank you. The only thing I can suggest is that you use the word "farther" when referring to distance.

  • @TheCEOSensei
    @TheCEOSensei 7 місяців тому

    Danny, this tip has helped me immensely. I had some injuries last year and my distance drastically decreased. I was thinking I needed to change my shafts as I am getting older, but I got new clubs just 4 years ago so I delayed doing that. And thanks to the Towel Drill, I am glad I didn’t change shafts. I’m now back to my previous distances and I’m striking the ball so much better now. Thank you.❤

    Thoroughly enjoying your recent lessons, regarding adding distance with all the clubs in the bag. Your as excited for Liam as he is himself and enjoy watching your enthusiasm rub off on other people. The modern game is more about power and distance but that’s what gives us mere mortals the most pleasure, when you hit 1 or 2 out the middle of the driver face and watch it fly, we all just need to put the practice in to become more consistent.

    Good video on how to increase speed by accelerating the hand/arms in a towel snapping drill. I have a theory as to why he shanked and had poor contact (granted you didn't tell us where he was mishitting it). You had him swing the towel out toward the ball to target line meaning his hands were also swinging in that direction, and thus his hands and arms were moving out away from the body and further away than where they started. Where he should have been swinging them was back down under the shoulders (roughly were he started with them). The design of the club and centripetal force will propel the shaft and club to the ball. Mike Malaska is pretty good at describing why you don't want the hands swinging out toward the golf ball. (As he sometimes says you don't swing your hands out towards a ball in other sports). Pete Cowen's instructors are pretty good at providing drills that throw pressure downward. Here's one such video: ua-cam.com/video/rrFnH7120H8/v-deo.html

    • @DanielMaude
      @DanielMaude  10 місяців тому

      Funny you should mention this as next weeks video covers exactly that

  • @JackRussell021
    @JackRussell021 9 місяців тому

    Yet another video that really speaks to me. I had to slow my swing down a lot just to be able to make contact - up until now I have been content to just make good contact and not top/fat the ball. It was a different video that got me to a point where I could just do just that much on a fairly consistent basis.
    But every time I tried to swing harder, I would just miss the ball completely, so I would have to slow it down again. I am at a point where I can play a par-3 course, but I just don't have the distance to play a proper course.
    So I knew there was something missing - I just didn't know what it was I needed to do to take this to the next level. I will bookmark this one. In fact I will have to snag a towel and make up one of those things before I even touch the golf clubs.

    I have to tell you this worked immensely. Coupled this drill with the structure Y formation and great things happened. I'm 69 years old and usually would hit a 9 iron for 130 135. At this session, I was covering the flag at 155 :). Took my seven iron which would typically be 150 or so and was comfortably putting it at 175 target. Unfortunately had to leave a 1/2 bucket on the tee so I didn't get to driver and fairway woods. I'll upload a video of that session. Thanks for the instruction Danny!

    Great lesson Danny. Been using the towel drill since you showed it. Great to see Leo's improvement. Noticed that on the last driver hit (his longest) that the distance really improved on that one as his hit was actually behind the ball (hitting up) where his other ones were after the ball. I'm sure you have more work with him on the swing, but quite impressive.

    I love this lesson because I'm around the same spot he is. It's so relevant. I started to add speed and also used towel to try and do that snap effect. Once I was broke 100 mph swing speed though, I was realizing that I was struggling more with consistency, and I was sort of topped out. I also felt like I was trying really hard and watching replays my swing just looked force. I have been watching swings of all kinds of golfers in slow speeds and realized I was not using my wrists really, and my swing looks very similar to Leo's. I've now started training my body to use wrists more. I wonder if he will have that same issue.
    If that's accurate, I'd love to see the follow up lesson to this where you teach him about how to evolve this swing using wrists to get more effortless power. I'm actually pretty impressed with his consistency, given the new golfer status. I've been golfing 9 months and it's been a struggle! That said, I've noticed getting that wrist involved is helping me, as well as making it more effortless to generate power. I'd love to see if my thoughts on this are correct and if you plan on taking that next step with him, or perhaps some swings are just different.

    A most brilliant lesson! Just watching Leo let it rip and rotating so well is great. When he gets the wrists working properly and low point a little further back with driver, he'll be pushing 275 easily!

      I think chippers are a great idea if you don’t have time to practice and develop your short game. They of course have their limitations but well worth it if you are struggling.
      If you are happy to hang fire for a few weeks I have a video coming that will show you how to turn one of your current clubs into a chipper really easily

    Really good. Went to the range last night for the first time in a couple of weeks and practiced that move from last week's vlog. Really good results. Turns out iv been closing the face in the takeaway and on the way back down hence a lot of left pulls. Do thank you for that DM. Now.....onto this week's tip.

    After using the towel try using a club and let it go back as far as the towel so it rests on your shoulder. You have to be excessively loose with your wrists and your grip doesn’t maintain itself but when you turn and swing and replicate the feeling of the towel you get a real sense of catapulting the club head with unbelievable speed. It makes the transition from towel drill to hitting proper shots easier for me. Great video Danny.
