Question, his 247 total drive, what was his carry distance and ball speed? Great videos I always watch and take your drills to the range. I’m 62 and would love to get those distances. My club speed is the same as his but I’m not getting that distance.
I love how you show the miss hits as well (sorry Leo!) Because we're all guilty of doing this, but no UA-cam videos ever show you the build up after the drills! Great stuff! Top work Danny and Leo!
Danny, I love e when you use Liam because he represents the majority of us and to watch him get better in real time is extremely motivating. Not to mention how hilariously contagious the sound of you guys laughing is. We get a great lesson as well as a great morning lung clearing with the humor. Please keep up the great work as always and bring Liam back more often🤣🤣🤣
Danny, I love these live lessons. I’ve been practicing the fire downward method and yesterday I hit my longest drive ever close to 250yds on a par 5. This set me up to smash my 5 wood right to the front on the green. My first ever putt for eagle! Thank you for all you do to help golfers like me improve.
That was such a lovely fun session with amazing results. So great to see. You can tell what a lovely work relationship you both have. Thanks for putting another big smile on our faces, Danny, and very well done to Leo.
Love watching Leo's progression. Shows the reality of someone learning to play, starting from square one. Good roadmap for trying to get friends into the game.
Once again, a tip that I used from you and it changed my swing. I am a 12 hcp, but I have been loosing distance as I got older and as I fine tune my game. I wish I had seen this 15 years ago, to know that I left yards on the table when younger is a little frustrating, but this helped me to strike it better and with power. Thank you
Danny, I love how each video continues pieces from prior videos, like the towel drill you recently learned. I also really appreciate the lessons you give people like Leo, who represent a large portion of your viewers. Excellent content once again!
This works and is key to unlocking big power with low effort. I love that you left the bloopers in, as it’s reality when making a swing change. There’s a lot more speed in there! Onward and upward!
Danny I gotta say thank you. You are one of the coaches on YT that got me started in golf. I went from shooting 145 on average to 16 HC in 3 months. THANK YOU DANNY FOR YOUR INSIGHTS!
Time to prep the towel…thks 4 sharing! So inspiring. Especially like how you both dealt with those mishits at the very beginning to use a club. Superb.
Great video, altho leo seemed to stop the idea of towel on left shoulder, when he went back to the iron. Similar to my own problem . Not close to the top . Any help with that Danny ? @DanielMaude
Danny, you are an excellent teacher and communicator. So many great players cannot teach because they cannot describe what they are doing. One classic example is Ernie Els saying "Just do this. " I have reaped rewards from your videos. Thank you. The only thing I can suggest is that you use the word "farther" when referring to distance.
Danny, this tip has helped me immensely. I had some injuries last year and my distance drastically decreased. I was thinking I needed to change my shafts as I am getting older, but I got new clubs just 4 years ago so I delayed doing that. And thanks to the Towel Drill, I am glad I didn’t change shafts. I’m now back to my previous distances and I’m striking the ball so much better now. Thank you.❤
Another ace video Danny, its has so much more meaning when you do one on one lessons. Gives us all that extra bit of confidence and hope. Sunday club medals are all shotgun at the moment so not a lot of space on the range. Replaced that with a coffee in the clubhouse and one or two of your lessons. Believe it or not it really WORKS..... Keep em coming bonnie lad.
Thoroughly enjoying your recent lessons, regarding adding distance with all the clubs in the bag. Your as excited for Liam as he is himself and enjoy watching your enthusiasm rub off on other people. The modern game is more about power and distance but that’s what gives us mere mortals the most pleasure, when you hit 1 or 2 out the middle of the driver face and watch it fly, we all just need to put the practice in to become more consistent.
This gives me hope! Been watching all of Danny's video's for the past 3 years. THIS ONE! Leo is right on my level and this gives me hope for 2024 season :)
Good video on how to increase speed by accelerating the hand/arms in a towel snapping drill. I have a theory as to why he shanked and had poor contact (granted you didn't tell us where he was mishitting it). You had him swing the towel out toward the ball to target line meaning his hands were also swinging in that direction, and thus his hands and arms were moving out away from the body and further away than where they started. Where he should have been swinging them was back down under the shoulders (roughly were he started with them). The design of the club and centripetal force will propel the shaft and club to the ball. Mike Malaska is pretty good at describing why you don't want the hands swinging out toward the golf ball. (As he sometimes says you don't swing your hands out towards a ball in other sports). Pete Cowen's instructors are pretty good at providing drills that throw pressure downward. Here's one such video: ua-cam.com/video/rrFnH7120H8/v-deo.html
Yet another video that really speaks to me. I had to slow my swing down a lot just to be able to make contact - up until now I have been content to just make good contact and not top/fat the ball. It was a different video that got me to a point where I could just do just that much on a fairly consistent basis. But every time I tried to swing harder, I would just miss the ball completely, so I would have to slow it down again. I am at a point where I can play a par-3 course, but I just don't have the distance to play a proper course. So I knew there was something missing - I just didn't know what it was I needed to do to take this to the next level. I will bookmark this one. In fact I will have to snag a towel and make up one of those things before I even touch the golf clubs.
Absolutely amazing result more or less straight away. 50 yards more carry, slight fade but straighter. Not all sweetness and light, however, I’m certain that the next time I give it a whirl, after watching your video again, it’ll come back. I have every faith. I’ll keep you posted 😊 Thanks a million so far!
Enjoyed this video because (1) I am doing the same around & slow swing. (2) I picked up on the lack of hand rotation in his swing. I have been rotating my hands to close the club face onto the ball and help create speed. Thanks
Great stuff Danny massive improvement! looking in I would say once he adds a bit more wrist angle at the top of his backswing and releases that at impact he's easily 280 with driver.
Great lesson! Loved the towel drill which I learned from your previous video, the speed and timing results are phenomenal. Seriously, easy to gain double digit mph gains. Can’t wait to apply on a course once they open.
I have to tell you this worked immensely. Coupled this drill with the structure Y formation and great things happened. I'm 69 years old and usually would hit a 9 iron for 130 135. At this session, I was covering the flag at 155 :). Took my seven iron which would typically be 150 or so and was comfortably putting it at 175 target. Unfortunately had to leave a 1/2 bucket on the tee so I didn't get to driver and fairway woods. I'll upload a video of that session. Thanks for the instruction Danny!
I took an old bath towel, and have been working on this the last couple of weeks. I like that I can work on this from home. I am slowly starting to see better distance.
Great lesson Danny. Been using the towel drill since you showed it. Great to see Leo's improvement. Noticed that on the last driver hit (his longest) that the distance really improved on that one as his hit was actually behind the ball (hitting up) where his other ones were after the ball. I'm sure you have more work with him on the swing, but quite impressive.
That was informative and so much fun to watch - I was pulling for Liam to crack 200y and gave a little cheer when he did. This is fantastic content Danny, thanks!
Of course, another great video. I have been using the towel drill and am off to work in Pakistan for a month tomorrow and towel already packed. It works. I also use the stone skimming feeling. Brilliant
Brilliant stuff lads. For a moment there I thought you were not going to recover from the corpsing 😂. The height and width in Leo’s swing at the end was so impressive. As I have said on here before, in person Danny is the most enthusiastic and inspiring teacher.
I love this lesson because I'm around the same spot he is. It's so relevant. I started to add speed and also used towel to try and do that snap effect. Once I was broke 100 mph swing speed though, I was realizing that I was struggling more with consistency, and I was sort of topped out. I also felt like I was trying really hard and watching replays my swing just looked force. I have been watching swings of all kinds of golfers in slow speeds and realized I was not using my wrists really, and my swing looks very similar to Leo's. I've now started training my body to use wrists more. I wonder if he will have that same issue. If that's accurate, I'd love to see the follow up lesson to this where you teach him about how to evolve this swing using wrists to get more effortless power. I'm actually pretty impressed with his consistency, given the new golfer status. I've been golfing 9 months and it's been a struggle! That said, I've noticed getting that wrist involved is helping me, as well as making it more effortless to generate power. I'd love to see if my thoughts on this are correct and if you plan on taking that next step with him, or perhaps some swings are just different.
A most brilliant lesson! Just watching Leo let it rip and rotating so well is great. When he gets the wrists working properly and low point a little further back with driver, he'll be pushing 275 easily!
That towel drill work at treat. I took it a bit further by making sure my right hand was straight at impact and the results were wow well done Danny for sharing. When you get to Ireland let us know 👏👏👏👏
I think chippers are a great idea if you don’t have time to practice and develop your short game. They of course have their limitations but well worth it if you are struggling. If you are happy to hang fire for a few weeks I have a video coming that will show you how to turn one of your current clubs into a chipper really easily
Really good. Went to the range last night for the first time in a couple of weeks and practiced that move from last week's vlog. Really good results. Turns out iv been closing the face in the takeaway and on the way back down hence a lot of left pulls. Do thank you for that DM. Now.....onto this week's tip.
Great lesson Danny , I have been working with the towel for a couple of weeks now, feels good , but only at home or range. Can not get on Chestfield yet to play on course, to wet for buggies.
After using the towel try using a club and let it go back as far as the towel so it rests on your shoulder. You have to be excessively loose with your wrists and your grip doesn’t maintain itself but when you turn and swing and replicate the feeling of the towel you get a real sense of catapulting the club head with unbelievable speed. It makes the transition from towel drill to hitting proper shots easier for me. Great video Danny.
If you enjoyed the video could you give it a thumbs up 👍 it helps the channel massively. Thank you
I always do Danny , you haven’t produced a bad video lesson you 👍

Pleasure Duncan, so important for us all to relaxed that the road to better golfer is always a little bumpy

That was such a lovely fun session with amazing results. So great to see. You can tell what a lovely work relationship you both have. Thanks for putting another big smile on our faces, Danny, and very well done to Leo.
Lucky to have him 👍
Viewing a real lesson with a student mirroring many my deficiencies is greatly beneficial and appreciated! Love the channel!
Love watching Leo's progression. Shows the reality of someone learning to play, starting from square one. Good roadmap for trying to get friends into the game.
Thank you appreciate the feedback 😁

Get yourself a coach like Danny who celebrates your own success even more than you do 😂
I loved seeing Leo improve
That was Amazing!!!!
This works and is key to unlocking big power with low effort. I love that you left the bloopers in, as it’s reality when making a swing change.
There’s a lot more speed in there! Onward and upward!
Another great lesson Danny, I’m loving your most recent lessons on driving the ball farther. Great tips for added yards 👊
It’s been a pleasure filming them for you
it's been so cool to see Leo every so often and see his progress! Looking better and better, and seeing the great results! Well done, mate!
Our pleasure!
Danny I gotta say thank you. You are one of the coaches on YT that got me started in golf. I went from shooting 145 on average to 16 HC in 3 months. THANK YOU DANNY FOR YOUR INSIGHTS!
Brilliant well done and thank you for the support 😁
What a great video and lesson for Leo and everyone watching. Love the way you got him to take the towel snapping over to the club snapping.
Thank you !
So fun and exciting to watch and loved the enthusiasm! Always enjoy watching the videos with Leo and Danny’s dad. Way to go Leo!
Glad you enjoyed it
Time to prep the towel…thks 4 sharing! So inspiring. Especially like how you both dealt with those mishits at the very beginning to use a club. Superb.
You’ve always got to laugh at your mistakes
I need a video of you making that towel. Magic!!
Great video, altho leo seemed to stop the idea of towel on left shoulder, when he went back to the iron. Similar to my own problem . Not close to the top . Any help with that Danny ? @DanielMaude
Love your enthusiasm Danny and well done Leo for embracing the lesson!
Glad you enjoyed it Matthew, awesome to see him improve
Fantastic video! So great to actually see people having fun and learning at the same time!
Glad you enjoyed it Paul
One of your best sessions. So much fun and enthusiasm. Inspirational to watch.
Keep it up Leo and you will outdrive the boss!
He’s well on his way James
Love your enthusiasm, Danny! You're so genuinely pleased for Liam :)
It’s great to see people improving
Fantastic lesson Danny and well done to your student Fantastic improvement. Thx as always and have a great weekend
Thank you Jullian, hope you are having a great weekend
The genuine reactions from both teacher and student is so awesome 😊
It was a fun lesson to be a part of
Danny is the Golf Whisperer - fantastic coaching - indeed. Great video!!
Thanks Gary, so happy for Leo
I did enjoy this, made me smile and laugh...... we've all been there with those first fast swings he did. What a great result for him in the end.
He was a great sport and so important to laugh at our mistakes and struggles along the way
The simplicity of the towel exercise is amazing and more importantly .....it gets results. This is awesome!
Thank you Ryan 😁
Love your videos when you are live teaching. Quality 👌🏻
Always love to film them
Love the towel drill but definitely hard to go from the drill directly to hitting the ball! Keep up the good work Leo. Truly impressive gains.
It can require courage and patience

Sounds like a lovely way to get ready for a game Michael. I do love a good coffee
Loved that one Danny you look like you were really enjoying his progress 🙏🏻🙏🏻
So much fun to see those lightbulb moments
Fantastic teaching Danny. Thankyou. Well done Leo.
Glad you enjoyed it
Excellent. That should give all of us encouragement the next time out.
Absolutely
That is exactly the type of session I would love to have! Leo is starting to put together a game I would love to have.
Thanks for the support Richard
Danny love your videos. Straight forward advice for us average golfers. Learned a lot mate. Thanks from down under in Aus.
Thank you Adam 😁
Love how you are having fun and laughs with your lessons. After a couple of shanks, tension can really go up. Great results at the end.
Was a enjoyable lesson Jack, thanks for the support 👍
This is absolutely amazing! Can’t wait to try this towel drill. Your lessons make sense, appreciate it!
Thanks Thomas! Appreciate rhetorical support 😁

Awesome

Thank you Drew appreciate the support 😁
You've helped me change my game, i watch and practice every one of your drills, Thanks so much!
Happy to help Juan!
The Miami winter makes courses dry, I hit a punch 3 wood 255 yesterday, ran for about 50 of those, that was crazy!@@DanielMaude

Good for you, Leo. It takes courage to show yourself on camera, espcially the miss hits. The towel drill is a definite winner. Cheers.
He will appreciate that 👍
Thanks DM. That is inspirational. Wow. Going to the range Right Now.
Have fun
Joseph
Great to see his confidence rise with each shot.
It really was
Love these real beginner
lessons!
More to come! 🙏
Come on Leo! Wow he is really getting good. I did love how much you guys laughed on the whiffs. What an amazing lesson.
Thank you Cindy, so important to laugh at our mistakes
Fantastic coaching Danny,👌🏌️♂️
Many thanks!appreciate the feedback
Great stuff Danny massive improvement! looking in I would say once he adds a bit more wrist angle at the top of his backswing and releases that at impact he's easily 280 with driver.
Absolutely Kevin, we have been working on stretching that angle out as he used to get the club face very open at the top
Wow hes hardly broken his wrists and he's caned that 7 iron 160+ yards 😮
This was excellent material presented in an easily understood manner. Thank you both!
Thank you Jim!
New watcher - I really appreciate your insight and style. You are a great teacher. I'll be watching.
Thanks for taking the time to feedback
Love your videos Danny always make sense❤
Thanks so much Andrew
Great lesson! Loved the towel drill which I learned from your previous video, the speed and timing results are phenomenal. Seriously, easy to gain double digit mph gains. Can’t wait to apply on a course once they open.
Thank you Mariad 😁
Wow I could not believe that ..thanks Danny for the best video ever..just wow.. I have. Ever hit driver 230..can’t wait to try!
Thank you Edward 😁
Fantastic, love watching how he is making immediate progress.
Thank you LK 😁
Loved this! Exactly what I needed!
Glad it was helpful!
Fantastic progress, great for someone using a split hand drill and no wrist set! Awesome
Glad you like it Roger
I have to tell you this worked immensely. Coupled this drill with the structure Y formation and great things happened. I'm 69 years old and usually would hit a 9 iron for 130 135. At this session, I was covering the flag at 155 :). Took my seven iron which would typically be 150 or so and was comfortably putting it at 175 target. Unfortunately had to leave a 1/2 bucket on the tee so I didn't get to driver and fairway woods. I'll upload a video of that session. Thanks for the instruction Danny!
Brilliant well done 🙌
Yep more wonderful nuggets of gold. Thanks so much can’t wait to implement.❤
Thank you Josh!
An inspirational, laugh out loud, lesson. Magic! Would be great to see Leo playing a few holes on the golf course with tips from Danny.
Thank you Shaun appreciate the support 😁
Thanks for another Great video. Gona try the towel technique tomorrow ..
Love to hear how it goes Neil
I took an old bath towel, and have been working on this the last couple of weeks. I like that I can work on this from home. I am slowly starting to see better distance.
Wonderful! Keep it up Mark
I liked this because it is real as it get! Emotions are real.
Thanks so much for the support
After reading a few comments, I realized I had nothing further to say than "bravo" great energy!
Super kind thank you
Danny - Great video as usual. Keep them coming. Thanks for posting!! Jim
Thank you Jim 😁
Great lesson Danny. Been using the towel drill since you showed it. Great to see Leo's improvement. Noticed that on the last driver hit (his longest) that the distance really improved on that one as his hit was actually behind the ball (hitting up) where his other ones were after the ball. Loads more work to do Steve, next stop will be to nurture this but then work on some course management to help him score
That was informative and so much fun to watch - I was pulling for Liam to crack 200y and gave a little cheer when he did. This is fantastic content Danny, thanks!
Thank you glad you enjoyed 😁
I love this towel technique, it really helps in bringing power to your game 😁
Absolutely
Of course, another great video. I have been using the towel drill and am off to work in Pakistan for a month tomorrow and towel already packed. It works. I also use the stone skimming feeling. Brilliant
Enjoy Lou!
The towel is great. I travel for work all the time and use hotel towels for practice. Definitely has helped with timing.
Awesome to hear
This video just confirms what a great coach you are Danny! 😊
Thanks Kate!
Brilliant stuff lads. For a moment there I thought you were not going to recover from the corpsing 😂. The height and width in Leo’s swing at the end was so impressive. As I have said on here before, in person Danny is the most enthusiastic and inspiring teacher.
That’s really kind John, we had lots of fun in this lesson
I love this lesson because I'm around the same spot he is. It's so relevant. I started to add speed and also used towel to try and do that snap effect. Thank you for your kind words, lots more to come as we look to help Leo consistently break 100
When I'm home in the summer I'm booking a couple of lessons with you Danny 😊
Awesome to hear 😁
I had as much fun as you guys did. Going to the simulator now and I'm gonna whip it good!
Watching you teach someone in person is 100% easier to understand for me. Great lesson!
Thank you Adam 👍
A most brilliant lesson! Just watching Leo let it rip and rotating so well is great. When he gets the wrists working properly and low point a little further back with driver, he'll be pushing 275 easily!
Glad you enjoyed 😁
Thanks for the video Danny
You are very welcome
That towel drill work at treat. I took it a bit further by making sure my right hand was straight at impact and the results were wow well done Danny for sharing. When you get to Ireland let us know 👏👏👏👏
Thank you Chris!
You are the greatest coach, you keep it simple for us. I know this is off topic but I would love to hear your thoughts on chippers. Thanks
I think chippers are a great idea if you don’t have time to practice and develop your short game. They of course have their limitations but well worth it if you are struggling.
If you are happy to hang fire for a few weeks I have a video coming that will show you how to turn one of your current clubs into a chipper really easily
I can’t wait to see this. You have helped my chipping immensely but I still struggle with distance control. Thanks
What a great video thanks for this! I did this today and really makes you feel the lag
Happy to help Greg!
Super good lesson and excellent results! I going to grab a towel and try it myself.
Thank you! Let me know how you get on 👍
Well done!. Great video. Will definitely use the towel trainer.
Glad you liked it Tony
Absolutely brilliant. The smile on Leo’s face says it all 😁
Thank you Neale glad you enjoyed 😁
Really enjoyed watching this, instant results with one good tip is every golfers fantasy😅
It was a fun lesson thanks Zah 😁
Really good. Went to the range last night for the first time in a couple of weeks and practiced that move from last week's vlog. Really good results. Turns out iv been closing the face in the takeaway and on the way back down hence a lot of left pulls. Do thank you for that DM. Now.....onto this week's tip.
Well done Stuey 😁 happy to help 👍
Great lesson Danny.
Super kind thank you
Great Job Leo! You're hooked now!! It's a game for a lifetime!!
Thanks Darrell!
Really super lesson thanks Danny
Pleasure Brian, all the best
Awesome video. Just loved the enthusiasm from you both!!
Thank you Dave!
Great lesson Danny , I have been working with the towel for a couple of weeks now, feels good , but only at home or range.
Can not get on Chestfield yet to play on course, to wet for buggies.
We are having a very wet winter
Love watching the lesson from Leo. I do exactly the same with my hybrid or FW, ball would go 10 ft in front of me lol
Hope this helps
Love this. I went to range today and got comments how far I was hitting my 3 wood using these ideas. I need to go onto course today and try it now...
Thank you Beth! Let me know how you get on 👍
After using the towel try using a club and let it go back as far as the towel so it rests on your shoulder. You have to be excessively loose with your wrists and your grip doesn’t maintain itself but when you turn and swing and replicate the feeling of the towel you get a real sense of catapulting the club head with unbelievable speed. Can't wait to get to the range and try this😊
Have fun!
