Would it be possible to tube feed instead of the bottle as that avoids the whole mouth area & therefore would reduce the chances of infection? You could possibly reduce the frequency of feedings & sleep better.

As for the feedings, doing it so often is CRITICAL in a baby otter's first few days, if they don't gain weight quickly their body temperature will drop and they'll die. Otter pup mortality is high even in captivity, especially if a pup has a handicap. So… No.

She'll grow to her own appropriate size, but not all otters grow to the *same* size as adults. For example, males are generally larger than females; but some females are larger than some males.
Loutre-mama would never throw a living otter away… Even if Otsuyu had rejected this pup, Loutre-mama would still have kept the baby girl alive… If the pup had died, she would have given it a Japanese funeral (she did that with the miscarried pup from Oage's original mate)

I’m impressed that somehow 5 little bodies needing to share only four spigots are working out how to each get their share! I know Madam & Master Loutre have been supplementing the littlest otterlette’s eating, but even when they are all there for feeding, everything seems calm. Nature is the smartest of all! ❤️

Once she is big enough to have an operation for her lip and after is all healed up she'll probably have a BIG appetite. Hopefully she'll grow big like Tororo!!
