The Mammoth Tank is one of the greatest examples of military innovation is history. The only thing that comes close is when the G.L.A finally gave their workers shoes, thus increasing productivity.

This is the best tank! Ever since I first saw the twin-barrel in Red Alert (the first game), this tank has been stuck in my head! Every few months I just have that image of the very first mission where you get this tank in Red Alert. That was my favourite mission simply because from then on you could make this absolute beast!
@@morganrobinson8042 The Bolo is just a niche thing nobody knows about. Not to mention how pointless it is considering the amount of armaments it has. Its more of a landship than a tank. Atleast vehicles like the Baneblade or the Mammoth have weaknesses and demand combined arms fighting. Bolo is just plot armour in a shape of a tank . In conclusion the Mammoth is better than the Bolo solely because Mary Sue isnt awesome.

This takes me back to my youth. The Mammoth set the tone for futuristic tanks in all games including the 'Grizzly' in Halo wars and the 'Arclite' Siege tank in 'Starcraft. Terrorists, Aliens, and Mutant...it took em all on! Love the big yellow beast.

@@shaunmoreau5081 advanced ECM tank can target base defences like the microwave tank if memory serves (unlike the basic ECM tank which only targets vehicles). Perhaps I am thinking shockwave mod (I play that all the time). the Laser general in zero hour unmodded definitely has the advanced microwave tank wich does what a microwave tank does but at arty range.

I am a diehard Nod commander, and Kane's word is law. But Mammoth tanks are one of the coolest tanks in the 'verse. Third only to Stealth and Flame tanks.
Great video, just a nit pick though; in C&C lore (timeline wise) the Mammoth's first deployment was in the second world war by the Soviets since RA1 was originally drawn up as a prequel to Tiberian Dawn (fan name for the first C&C).
I hope that in Arsenal we will one day see the Warframes. Since they are something more close to a suit (though they were once humans) they are weapons for mass destruction each designed for different type of combat.
If you think about its Mammoth tank( Tiberium Series), Apocalypse tank ( Red alert Series) and Overlord Tank( General ), they all share the same design (well if you include non canon from rise of the reds, Russian also have the same design but only one massive cannon ) its show same universe but different timeline among these three
@Leonard J Krabs I've halted 15 Overlord tanks in a steam role march with two Nuke Cannons using Neutron Shells. Then I sent them back at the base they came from. There are many good counters to them.
This is the Overlord. TANK! A Chinese cousin distantly inspired by the Mammoth I'm sure, this Generals Tank had awesome versatility (you could attach a bunker, gatling gun, or a propaganda tower to it).
Well reminds me of one Generals Zero hour game which went to complete draw... essentialy I was USA superweapons vs China tank... and we essentialy devolved to a state where my fuel air bomb auroras were constantly maintaing perimerter over half map with his tanks just being fed into grinder... with no way how to pierce trough... Everytime I made any kind of strike force I had to use it to counter his powers. the only thing that allowed technical advance on my side were the EMP missiles which however were countered by his powers, the battle lasted like 5 hours till we called it a draw.
@@Paerigos That's more their fault, not using gatling tanks (which they get a discount) and just spreading the all over the countryside. You would lose more of your Auroras on the return trip...
@@TheLoneWanderer79 you cant stop aurora alpha droping the payload anyway, and I was building them about as fast as they were shot down... there was no return trip - over enemy territory - my base was half the map, his was half the map... with a little killzone in the middle. the return trip was over perfectly secured territory. covered by EMP patriots everywhere - like any underground attack or aidrop always ran into 3 patriots spewing EMP missiles over the target. I have half the map covered with shut down everything electronic. to be fair I think infantry general would have had more luck...
There will always be a need for survivable mobility on a battlefield. The alternative is static defense. Which invites the bloodiest stalemates. The Mammoth is the pinnacle of armored warfare. It will always reign.
Minor correction, the Mammoth hails from the similarly named Soviet Mammoth Tank, used in the Second Great War by that regime. It's likely that as Russia became a U.N. nation they were procured out of being mothballed for the first Tiberium war, before GDI properly developed and updated the vehicle for the third.
Jesus i feel old, the first time i saw a Mammoth tank wasn't with Tiberium wars (yes call me a heretic) it was with C&C Renegade, i'm still so fucking thankful that my aunt bought me for my birthday, all those years ago, "C&C first decade" one hell of a ride was playing all those game, that show me how fun were the RTS games of the past

@@percyfones7497 Renegade is fondly remembered by the C&C community. A bunch of programmers who were fans got together and made Renegade X, basically Renegade remade, which is available for free online.
I never figured out how tiberium silos worked ie how much capacity they give for that exact reason. Too much money? Dude, you're not in Starcraft, there is no unit cap!
Rivals got some cool qoutes that even though is trash compared to the other CnC games (except maybe 4) like: "The Confessor prays", "Avatar Warmech leads", "Razorback you wanted the best?". (edit) here is more qoutes: "You gotta die sometimes,"Don't drop the grenades, don't drop the grenades", "Raining Judgement", "Tell my mama i love her", "our lives meant nothing".
The Mk. 3 was the best Mammoth, it was more reliable than any other series, it's only weakness comes from the air, nothing a support of Firehawks couldn't handle, in that situation, they're really unstoppable, as their commanders like to say.
About the power. I think it's more possible that the tank is powered by turbine diesel engine or any advanced fuel for that matter. It just has no first party proof that it's actually powered by atomic power
Having a nuclear engine for a car or train means actually having a steam engine, with the nuclear providing the heat for the steam. I don’t recall seeing Steam coming out of the mammoth tank, but that’s the designs for nuclear propulsion in real life such as the Russian nuclear steam train or the Ford Nucleon car concept. The car didn’t happen for safety reasons.

Red alert isn't the first game. The first game was 1995 Command & Conquer Tiberian Dawn and in 1996 Command & Conquer Ee Alert was released.

The Emperor is practically effective against all targets and has a healing aura but its a shame Tank general has no arty

Once you have 4 of these and a railgun upgrade you basically have a full defensive capability to your base

Rivals got some cool qoutes that even though is trash compared to the other CnC games (except maybe 4) like: "The Confessor prays", "Avatar Warmech leads", "Razorback you wanted the best?". (edit) here is more qoutes: "You gotta die sometimes,"Don't drop the grenades, don't drop the grenades", "Raining Judgement", "Tell my mama i love her", "our lives meant nothing".
and also the air units qoutes when they falls down is sometimes funny like : "Should've join the navy", "Welp this is it", "Going down with the ship".

The mammoth MK II was my favorite. I was upset they got rid of the mechanized walkers in later games after tiberium sun.

The Mk. 3 was the best Mammoth, it was more reliable than any other series, it's only weakness comes from the air, nothing a support of Firehawks couldn't handle, in that situation, they're really unstoppable, as their commanders like to say.

About the power. I think it's more possible that the tank is powered by turbine diesel engine or any advanced fuel for that matter. It just has no first party proof that it's actually powered by atomic power
Having a nuclear engine for a car or train means actually having a steam engine, with the nuclear providing the heat for the steam. I don’t recall seeing Steam coming out of the mammoth tank, but that’s the designs for nuclear propulsion in real life such as the Russian nuclear steam train or the Ford Nucleon car concept. The car didn’t happen for safety reasons.
