HOLY MOLY!!!! Been looking for hours now for a video like this. I can finally get my dad's truck finished. First time doing bearings. No other video mentioned that the new rotors had the race installed. That was my biggest hang-up. Thank you so much for posting this. It is the exact truck my dad has and your instructions were super awesome! I cannot say thank you enough, but THANK YOU!

yes the set up is very similar. You might find that there are different bolts holding everything together but the concept of the bearing being in the actual rotor is the same.

Just changed the rotor on my 85 s10 pick up 2wd. I had a warped rotor, so after taking it out and inpecting the bearings the outer bearing was plastic, I had never seen that before, when I asked the old guy at the parts store he informed they were original. 37 years old I'd say got our money's worth of them

The bearings for the blazer are not in the rotors but are instead a separate hub and bearing combo.

You're best bet would be to replace the whole rotor with the bearings. Normally if the bearing is going bad, it wobbles causing the rotor to touch the brake pads and wear unevenly.

Unfortunately if you are getting a noise from the front end, the bearings are starting to break down and need to be replaced.

  • @1AAuto

Unfortunately the equinox is different that this because instead of having a bearing inside the rotor, the vehicle has the bearing integrated into the hub itself.

this is ok if your selling the truck an don't care about the buyer , if your keeping the truck go to the bearing supplier website like say timkins they will tell you how to install their bearings , they are torqued to a specific amount twice once to seat them and again for final torque after loosening from the first seating torque. and like keechmabreeks said you have to use your fingers and palms to work the grease in! that hub where the bearing ride should be a sea of grease !

Do they make a tool to do this other than punching them out? Thanks Ryan

where did you learn to pack bearings, because those bearings are not pack correctly and are not going to last. You have to put a glob of wheel bearing grease in the palm of your hand and smack the bearings against it repeatedly rotating bearing as you do it force the grease into the bearing between the rollers and housing. that is the only way you will get them packed!!!
