Even though I'm still sure this isn't Arin's favorite game series by a long shot, I'm still oddly touched he fondly remembers the past gags, bits, and even names. Nothing brings me more joy than Arin doing his Monokuma voice.

It's possible he did hear the voice but it didnt fully register, which made him think of hamsters, and also why he thought to ask Arin to give him a deep voice

@@Oh_Hael_No The Ultimate Clairvoyant (Hiro) was Dan’s favorite character in Danganronpa 1, and weirdly enough Hiro is basically just Dan in his stoner phase lmao. The fact that Dan has actually become The Ultimate Clairvoyant is icing on the cake.
There’s also a sonic reference in chapter 4 which unfortunately will take a long time for them to get to if they are only doing these episodes on the weekends and switching between other games per week as well.

Some notable roles include Dracula in Castlevania: symphony of the Night, Dio in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Endeavor in My Hero Academia, Gamagori in Kill La Kill, and Agil in Sword Art Online. 3. The reason Monokuma sounds higher pitched is because his VA hadn't done the voice in a while and couldn't remember how it sounded. As the game goes on it gets better.

I'm going into an Anthropology major this fall so when Korekiyo was talking about the beauty of humanity I was all like "Yeah!!!" then he started laughing like a maniac and I just went "Ohh..."
Honestly!!! I think this is the first time where the actual Danganronpa GAME made them laugh instead of Dan and Arin coming up with the things to laugh about themselves. Already a great sign of what’s gonna come 😊

The Rantaro bit was like Byakuya being all about the deep state in their thh playthrough 😭😭 i laughed so hard at those bits it brought back nice memories

@@00nasco48 the part I hate about it is not only are they a complete waste of time *by design* if they are intended to be skippable without losing any context, but then the writers also turn around and try and lampshade it with monokuma trying to crack jokes about mascots returning in sequels. It's like the writers know they wrote trash but think that being "self-aware" suddenly makes it not trash.
@@burnin8able If you've seen the ending, you know the meta jokes have some purpose to them. The Monokubs' lines aren't completely worthless either, as they do provide information to us, albeit in an overly bloated way. Maybe you could consider all those pieces of information "not important", but I don't see how "important information" can be quantified in this game asides from clues in murder cases, which would make 99% of characters' lines unimportant.
Dan asking Arin to do his lowest voice for Ryoma because it'd be funny... then Ryoma's voice actually being super low. Just another W for our Ultimate Clairvoyant.
35:30 important to note that in the JP version “Ultimates” were referred to as “Super High-School Level ” so yes Kyoko would be the “Former Super High-School Level Detective”
Also, the school had a new "Lucky Student" every year - Makoto and Nagito are both lucky students, and they attended at the same time, so there's no reason to assume that other talents didn't overlap at times.

@Lucifersfursona I'm not the biggest fan of him (find him kinda annoying in game youre right dude IS just a twink) but replaying the game with what we know by the end in mind is fascinating, cause EVERYTHING he says pushes what he was trying to do forward. I don't remember when but momota comes up with the exact same plans as ouma multiple times, just after the trials instead of before the murders, he says "its so bad we didnt think of doing that!" But then, ouma DID think of doing that. And at the end, he won. His plan worked.
the amount of rapping jokes they've made in shuichi's presence before 1:36:17 when one of the main memes of v3 is the shuichi covering his face sprite with a reference relating to rapping... they really are on a spiritual wavelength with these games...

Warning now: Monokuma doesn't sound the same as the previous games. This isn't because they got a new voice actor, but because in the 6 years (or however long it was) between production of DR2 and this game, he just kind of...forgot how to do the voice right. He's admitted as much and apologized. Over the course of the game, he does get back in the swing of it, and he's like 95% back on-track by the last chapter, but it takes awhile.
@@lovely.fnaf. thats actually a common misconception !! momota definitely has some regressive beliefs abt girls and uses the term おかま towards shinguuji in an unfriendly way, however that word actually isn't really a slur and is used in a more neutral way about boys who cross-dress as women, or in english, drag queens. so the actual line that people take to be homophoic is more like "are you actually a cross-dresser?!" obviously still uncool but not nearly as extreme as people believe :T
In case anyone is curious: Yes, the “actual” Danganronpa 3 is the anime they saw clips of in the opening. For some reason the end of the story started by the first two games is an anime. Danganronpa V3 is a whole different beast, as you and the Grumps will soon come to learn.

V3 has almost nothing to do with the original Hope’s Peak saga (the first two games, ultra despair girls and the anime) aside from the core gameplay mechanics and the killing game concept with 16 talented highschoolers.

They just…decided to eliminate it for those two (understandable) and make Gonta specifically talk like a caveman (baffling).

Whenever I see these I'm reminded of the fact that hiyoko and kirumi share the same va 😭😭 and like no one seems to really acknowledge that fact, I never expected kirumi and HIYOKO of all people to have the same va, kira buckland has a crazy vocal range

I didn't know what was going to happen in the first two games because Game Grumps introduced me to the series and experiencing the game for the first time with them was so fun. Now as a full fledge Danganronpa fan and knowing what happens in this game is a really different experience. I can't wait for their reactions to like, literally everything in this game. I don't know if it counts as a spoiler, but Dan's technically correct about Kyoko no longer being the Ultimate Detective because she doesn't attend the school anymore. I don't remember when but momota comes up with the exact same plans as ouma multiple times, just after the trials instead of before the murders, he says "its so bad we didnt think of doing that!" Warning now: Monokuma doesn't sound the same as the previous games. This isn't because they got a new voice actor, but because in the 6 years (or however long it was) between production of DR2 and this game, he just kind of...forgot how to do the voice right. He's admitted as much and apologized. Over the course of the game, he does get back in the swing of it, and he's like 95% back on-track by the last chapter, but it takes awhile.

Dan's technically correct about Kyoko no longer being the Ultimate Detective because she doesn't attend the school anymore. They're only called "Ultimates" during their school years, with only one of each talent. Once they graduate, they're referred to as "Former Ultimate."

Considering the Japanese name for Ultimates is "Super High School Level" which makes more sense.
