Thank you Father for being so straight forward. It's also a problem of formation of young Catholics to consider honest discernment. Next problem is that many orders are desperate for vocations and many people project their unfulfilment on others who descerne. Your short comment sums it up perfectly. Thank you! This needs to be said over and over again.
I went through this while dating my wife and discerning a Benedictine Monastic life. I think one danger here is the either/or mentality. No accusations here. Just don't think that because your not gonna be a priest that you have to marry that girl. Or look at religious vocations as a fall back if your girlfriend doesn't work out. Consider discerning marriage and vocations separately and on thier own. Neither could also be the path.
Just want to mention, the snapshot of the CFRs in the background has one of my best friends squatting with the serious face lol. Fun fact - before he was a friar in college and I was going through the faith growth spurt, I asked him how to learn more about the faith and he recommended me to listen to Pints with Aquinas !
I 100% get Matt's fears about getting married. I do share most, if not all of them. The main reason the monastic life seems for me attractive is because I feel it'd allow me to run away from some of my greatest failings in the secular world.
I recommend you not going to the monastic life just because of your failings in the secular world, because you will be experiencing that same thing being in that religious life
I love the Friars, I try to give them monetary gifts and things from Amazon when I can. You chose what your vocation should be. Do you keep in touch with them?
Gosh, I'm 20 right now and whatever my vocation is, its a long way off, but I don't know how I will ever decide. I'm often crippled by indecision on even basic tasks, idk how ill decide that!
Excellent story. Young people in love with their own pluripotentcy is such a sad thing. Discern, make your election, and go!

As a monk, I can tell you that you will not escape yourself or the world (fuga mundi).
Babylon is rough. I was exploring the monastic path at Deer Park Monastery last year myself.
@@tylerwhitney3443 i don't understand what you are saying
You can take the man out of the monastery but you can't take the monastery out of the man.
I know this well enough.
Please elaborate heheh
That's a beautiful story. God bless your marriage!

This guy subscribed
This guy no longer a dingus
I love how you so confidently said dingus and then asked what it meant. Total Dad move. I approve.
I always watch these clips all the way through the Dingus bit.
Two good choices

I hope you’re doing ok. I understand you live in Ohio. Take care, please…
Dont cry Joni. Comes to mind
Very good!
7:19 Wouldn't "dingus" be the Latin word for "dingo"? 🤔
What is CFR?
Franciscan friars of the renewal
It looks like the Sisters of Life do not have an associated lay apostolate.
I call my son Clement “little dingus”!
Sounds like Hugh Jackman when he says Dingus 😊
Cameron you don't have lyme?
👍
How about a Calvinism?
I'll subscribe when you stop using the word, Dingus.
