Hi. This is coming from a person who just graduated university. Find a topic, a subject, a discipline that you love, that you can indulge in, that fills you with joy no matter what. Later on, people in your chosen profession may lay stones in your way, some might even want to put you off. But stick to those folks who will cherish you and your work. Exactly like Stephen and Steve have done.
There are so many actors who try to distance themselves from their old work and co-stars. Not these two. Carell is doing Oscar caliber work while embracing his improve roots and Colbert is hosting the friggin’ Late Show and still embraces his friendship and world with Carell and Stewart and others ( Strangers with Candy)
Why do I get the feeling Colbert was the mischievous one of the two? Love how they giggle together. They most have shared so much laughter through out the years. Also love how Carell knew what Colbert would say 08:22 :)
Tina Fey once said that one of them was a total ladies man at Second City. Neither man, nor Tina, will admit to which one it was. My money is on Colbert because Carell was admittedly shy, and also met his wife during that time.
@@Wigfield84 I saw that interview and I question Tina Fey's claim. I've never heard any other person confirm this or even hint of anything of the sorts. I think she was just messing with Jon Stewart :) Colbert seems to respect women way too much to be a ladies man. Edit: Also Colbert married 2 years before Carell (1993 vs 1995) and Colbert and Evy dated 3 years before marrying. Before meeting Evy Colbert was in a long term relationship with "Ann" so if he ever was a ladies man he was a very young ladies man... Sorry, I've been a Colbert fan for ages and it does something with you :)
@@sunrisediagnostika Maybe she didn't mean the disrespectful-to-women type of ladies man but more of a guy who charmed all the ladies and went out on some dates?
XD I get the same feeling! Stephen seems to be more mischievous and Steve seems to be more of the friend who doesn't help w the mischief but still finds it hilarious.
at my house when i was a kid no present used the same wrapping, because the wrappings are cheap. it wasn't until i was 24 (34 now) or so that i saw more than one present under the tree wrapped using the same thing (24 years of wrapping using different wrapping for every present, the christmas hidey hole for decorations at this point has a dozen or two different wrapping papers). i can whip out wrapping paper from 1990 if i want.
kght222: I can whip out some from as early as '87! Ah, Innisbrook Wraps. You taught me that no matter how hard I try, no matter how many Beverly Hills contacts I have available to me, I'll never be able to outsell the kid whose parents donated the most to the Teacher's Fund...
I'm late to this video but my grandfather used to be a rural letter carrier in a tiny town in northwest arkansas. He is one of the kindest people I've ever known and I really think the kind of selfless service to the community a rural letter carrier provides can only be well executed by people with empathy and compassion. I don't know what my grandpa did with letters to santa, I'll have to ask him the next time I call him, but that story about letting little kids know their letter had been picked up by 'special reindeer courier' really touched me. What a sweet thing to do.
I just can't stop thinking about the fact that he handwrote letters to kids to let them know Santa got their letter. That extra touch must've meant alot to those kids. He was a great mail man.
Abi Abi As a proud dork (also nerd and geek, just depends on the day which one is in the driver’s seat), my type has reliably fallen within the bounds of dorkdom (sometimes nerddom; but it’s a neighboring kingdom so I feel it’s all good!). While I’ve actually known a football captain that was not arrogant at all and didn’t abuse his social power and was almost a big brother for a lot of his peers, even then, I went with a dork. Relationships are hard enough without having to negotiate an entirely unknown mindset. Plus, I like to laugh with someone when I trip while I’m talking about being bummed I’d be a Jedi Guardian because I’d actually be grey while doing a Mon Mothma impression, instead of them laughing AT me. Prepositions are important like that. 🤷🏻♀️ But the more other girls go for football captains, the more of my type is available, so I mean, I’m maybe not going to reveal that secret until I’m securely off the market. It’s the survival of the smartest out there, so I’m keeping it on the DL.
This clip is brilliant because it's just two friends having a funny chat. Trying to entertain the audience but also each other. A great guest for the Christmas period.
I honestly think the mail carrier Santa reply he did was really sweet and I know the kids must’ve loved it even though he seems bashful/embarrassed about it here-that takes a sweet heart to do something like that even when it could extend the job so much longer each day during the Christmas holidays! 😭💕
At our house we also used different wrapping paper for Santa. We baked / ate / loved fresh cinnamon rolls each Christmas morning. Imagine that: Steve Carell is as normal as you and I. Love it. It really is the simple things.
Oh my God. My spirit has been lifted by watching this adorable and priceless friendship. I love these two men all the more after watching this, and it reminds me of my own long time friend...
As a mailman this is the best interview Ive ever seen and I'll be damned if it doesn't make me a bit proud. It's a tough job for sure, but it is rewarding. That said, the management sucks to a massive degree and really needs John Oliver to cover it lol

That’s because it was Steve Carell who played Michael Scott.

I like that Steve was about to cry because he felt the love of audience. He's one of the best people ever and deserves all that love

A lot of his interviews with old cast mates are like. The Daily Show special was a good one.
The awkward conversation pause made it feel like it.
And yet it didn’t really derail. When 2 best friends are also professional tv people
The world needs more people like Steve Carell. And that beard looks amazing on him.

He's such a better interviewer when he's winging it. He's just leaning back, chilling, chatting with an old friend.
