    I recently purchased a used 2019 with 58k miles on it. Shortly after I noticed the transmission slipping and jerking, particularly between 15-50mph. I did this service not having a lot of faith that it would fix it. I added the cleaner, ran it and then drained. Refilled with new fluid, ran for a while and drained. Installed the conditioner and shudder fix, and then refilled. It’s like night and day now compared to what it was. I’m keeping my fingers crossed but it’s amazing the difference it made.

      If I do another drain and fill at the next 30k interval, should I do the “cleaner, treatment, shudder fix” as well? Thanks

      I would definitely add the BG and the shudder fix. As for the cleaner I’d inspect my fluid With just 30k at last fluid change I’d Probably not use the cleaner.

    2020 Edge Titanium. Wife's Car. almost 40k on the clock. I never liked driving it. always felt a little jerky and spazy on acceleration from a dead stop. The other day I drove it up to put gas in it for her and thought "There is something wrong with this car". Got home, found your videos. Today, I did the service exactly as described. Took it for a drive and immediately noticed the difference.
    So did my wife:)
    Whenever i drover her car with her in it i would say something like "I cannot get used to the way this thing accelerates" She'd say; "it just likes to go" which i take to me means - you have to be heavy on the gas pedal which she is naturally. Anyways, I still felt a little bit of pulsing on slow acceleration. Hoping that will clear up once the additives get worked in.
    BTW, no one carries Mercon ULV in my area (SW Florida). Found a seller on ebay - Great price and fast shipping. Bought a case since in the near future i will be doing my 2020 Explorer Platinum. Ebay Seller: "PartsContainer"
    Thank you for a super-helpful video.

    This is very helpful. I don't have a lift so I don't think I can reliably check the level (and in my hilly town nothing is level). But draining x quarts and adding x quarts makes more sense.

    So thanks for the great video helped me alot with my 2020 lincoln corsiar. Next time when filling trans just pull the whole vent tube off top of trans this way it will flow the oil better. I never touched the “do not fill” cap u showed because its unnecessary. If u take off just the plastic cap theres a tiny hole in tube that the trans fluid has to go thru thats why it takes so long.

    Update on my Flush/Service - As i turns out the shudder/bucking/jerking on slow speed acceleration remained. I ended up taking the car in to Ford Dealer in Ft Myers. FL. They reprogrammed the PCM/TCM with latest calibration (their words,not mine) as referred to in SB21-2081, and stated it was fixed. It wasn't fixed and 2 weeks later I brought the car back. This time they told me they diagnosed bad clutch discs in the transmission and will be replacing the entire transmission with a new one. I will let you know how it goes. Car is currently awaiting the transmission replacement. Thanks,

    I have a 2019 Edge SEL with 36k miles and I went to my local dealership wanting to do a transmission update to correct a weird jerking that happens when going up and down the highway at speeds between 20MPH - 45MPH. The said the software update didn't correct it and that I need a new torque converter and valve body. It's going to be covered under warranty but damn! Wish they could have said they'd do fluid change like the one you're doing. Knowing that they'll remove the transmission to replace torque converted has me nervous. In the meantime I'm still driving my Edge waiting for the torque converter to be delivered to the shop.

    • @BigBensCarsAndCycles
      @BigBensCarsAndCycles  8 місяців тому +2

      If a vehicle is under warranty, the proper repair is to replace the torque converter. You could always offer to pay for a transmission service instead, that is your choice. I'd rather have the new parts as long as they have quality workmanship

    • @emarte
      @emarte 8 місяців тому

      Thank you for the feedback. This provides me with great reassurance. They said that to remove the valve body, the fluid would have to be drained. I guess I'll get new parts and new fluid for free.@@BigBensCarsAndCycles

    • @emarte
      @emarte 4 місяці тому

      @@BAbout1t at first it was doing a hard downshift from 6 to 5. But after I put around 100 miles on the new torque converter, valve body and fluid, it’s shifting super smooth. I’ve now put over a 1000 miles since the repair and it shifts perfectly. From now on I’ll be doing fluid changes every 30k miles just to be save.

    • @BigBensCarsAndCycles
      @BigBensCarsAndCycles  7 місяців тому +2

    and the information last time, sorry if i seem to be repeting myself but i have another question, the same transmission flush /fill you did, i want to do on my 2019- 2.0 ecoboost so is the 8f35 8 speed, trasnsmission i have with 122k miles on it now and i wanted to ask if it matters as far as doing a flusf/fill when it has a lot of miles on it some mechanics say its a riosk to to that because the clean fluid will lewad to problems i don't understand how that makes any sense you would think clean fluid would help it last longer? but i am tring to deal with that buck/jerk issue , is there any truth to that? and if i can change the oil and the coolant then is the flush /sioll goiong to be a problem? thasnks again for all you advce

    • @BigBensCarsAndCycles
      @BigBensCarsAndCycles  5 місяців тому +1

      If a transmission is left unserviced long enough, the old worn fluid can cause accelerated wear to piston seals and also mask piston seal wear since it's not as slick as new fluid. In other words, it can seal them better. But, in reality I've only seen that a handful of times on a 6f35 and not really on any other Ford transmissions. And since you're trying to fix a shudder, you should definitely service it.

I would definitely do that drain and fill two times and then maybe drain and fill once a year and after 60k miles do the cleaner. All speculation. Not too knowledgeable on cleaner in transmissions other than there’s a ton of detergents in transmission fluid and using one like amsoil 2 times and then year seems like it would keep it pretty clean and healthy
