Extreme Winter Vanlife Ep 3

In this episode we continue our extreme winter Arctic adventure in our VW camper van.
As we travel along the beautiful Lofoten islands in the polar night the temperature starts to drop but the scenery remains stunning and we finally catch moose on video.

It's a lovely place and it's certainly cold. See you had the pop top up. We've got a cover we use in Ireland which protects us from rain & wind only on the odd time do we get freezing weather.

Hi. Thank you 🙏🏻 we’ve never found we needed a cover even up in the Arctic. We do keep our heating on all the time of course and we keep it on all night normally (if needed) so we are warm if we need the loo 👍🏻. Plus we travel light and if it gets wet or frozen we don’t really want it in the van 🚐 💨👌🏻

Stunning scenery in this one! It’s on my bucket list for sure. A couple of questions if you don’t mind. 1. how is the engine block heater working for you and 2. what leisure batteries do you and how do they cope in the extreme cold?

Hi. Thank you, it is an amazing place 👌🏻. The preheater has been brilliant and saves so much wear and tear on the engine and also allowed us to keep the engine up to temp when it got really cold as well as defrosting the windows. The battery is off the floor and insulated and under the passenger seat so the heater keeps it at a good temperature. It’s a Roamer 240Ah and they do one which will cope with extreme freezing temperatures 🔋🧊👍🏻
