+norseFables I know what you mean, but Robin does a really nice conversion, you also get a full service and health check of your 303 and I think it looks kinda cool as well as being a more interactive instrument.
I love how you work with the filter tracking in the first part of the video, this knob, along with Filter FM is my favourite. Really does add dynamics to the tweaking.
Compared to the original 303 this sounds like a soft synth patch with loads of other functions except that the sound and control is EXACTLY the same. You can mimic to a degree but this is so much better.
Amazing! When will someone component model one of these into the digital world? I know you'll say it can never sound the same but advances in component modelling and faster CPUs are changing things. Have a listen to the U-He Repro-1 and Cytomic for component modelled pugs that sound pretty fucking analog. Would pay handsomely for a Devilfish VST.
i dont know the diffrence but i think it does higher frequencies or something similar or atleast thats what attracted me to plastikmans music as he sounded like he was ringing the fucking off the thing.
The TB-3 is digital and I have a modded TR-505 which is all digital technology. It's called "circuit bending" the instrument and it can be done to either digital or analog instruments.
I see no SYNC24 connected to the Devil Fish yet the basedrum stays in perfect sync, now did you manage this? I can't get this on mine. I must say I really do love your patterns, though, not everyone does it like this. Cheers from a fellow DevilFish owner. :) What the drummachine, btw?
You have a studio and can't actually bother to record in-line signal? FOR FUCKS SAKE, MAN. The Devil Fish deserves to be recorded in-line. :) Kudos for the vid though. Sold mine years go. Was a sweet-sweet machine.
My only complaint is that this thing is so small for how expensive it is, I mean it looks difficult to even use the knobs. What if you needed to get 2 hands in there at once, would that be hard?
In reply to Specb37's comment: this used to be ritchie hawtins tool of choice You mean before some poor management damned him to a laptop! Just like those DJs on serato & CDs!
so boring - yet more evidence that techy nerds have no creativity no matter how many mods they have - try chaining your patterns its slightly more interesting
Are you a moron? Of course he's staying on the same sequence to demo it. The point is that the pattern doesn't introduce variables, the knob tweaks are doing all the work.
I love this mod smooths out the sound of a 303. You can see how Hawtin got his early sound to it.
i find it hard to find a good demo of the 303 without someone making it to squelchy, but this is some gold. way to go man!
+Rudy Jakobs Aww thanks
As much as I love this mod (sooooo much) I couldn't send my 303 to be butchered. It's like changing it is all of the seven sins.
+norseFables I know what you mean, but Robin does a really nice conversion, you also get a full service and health check of your 303 and I think it looks kinda cool as well as being a more interactive instrument.
@@synth-stuff you cloud also get a TD-3 and do the mods to that
I love how you work with the filter tracking in the first part of the video, this knob, along with Filter FM is my favourite. Really does add dynamics to the tweaking.
amazing sounds from this synth. just what i like to hear. superrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Love these so much, lots of freedom with it aswell.
Fantastic demo of the devil fish mod, always wanted to get my hands on one of these!
I just want a regular 303, let alone a Devilfish. Sounds amazing.
Gonna need about 500 of these please. Holy shit.

Dude Soniccouture has it as a freebie as long as you own kontakt and buy one of their products
Advances in component modelling and faster CPUs are changing JACK SHIT, dude. Get a RE-303 kit and build one. Thank me later.
@theeltea Hey thanks. Yes, look closely, black sync 24 connector on left, drum machine is a Roland TR808.
i like it ☺️
these video effects are wicked

+XHALE303 I'll help and we can listen to Nervous Acid while we do it.
LOL! What a way to go, poetic! ACIIIID!
Lol, me too! :D
Done like A PRO!!!
This is what disappoints me with the new Aira TB-3 being virtual - you won't be able to get legendary hardware mods like this
The TB-3 is digital and I have a modded TR-505 which is all digital technology. It's called "circuit bending" the instrument and it can be done to either digital or analog instruments.
No virtual 303 can be as versatile as the real thing. Not worth the $$$ if you ask me.
Get a RE-303.
Great..! +Simon Jones
Good tape !
grazie per la dimostrazione. pollice su.
omg this acid line
Nice one, sounds great :-)

thanks mate, my brain melted :)

The TB-303 is a DIRTY BITCH of a synth and I FUCKIN' LOVE IT! NICE! ;-)
@mickooyy Robin Whittle is an excellent guy, btw!
Eureka 7 approves
What is the difference between an ordinary Roland TB-303 and Devil fish?
👍👍👍👍👍
I want one so fucking bad, it hurts.
I love the devilfish. Not a Roland purist by any measure.
Are you friends with Richie Hawtin? :D
My only complaint is that this thing is so small for how expensive it is, I mean it looks difficult to even use the knobs. What if you needed to get 2 hands in there at once, would that be hard?
Run the Devilfish through a boss metal zone pedal and then start tweaking.
I want this one! :)

+whymenowdamn
he pioneered serato, so it's no doubt he uses the like.
want one... NOWWW
never enough for ACID even its 2018
i need rebirth and loads of pedals to get anywhere near the sound of a devilfish. wish i still had my 303

Do you release music, yes? Share.
