Earlier today, I was running a Casio MT-65 through a Zoom G1-Four multi-effects pedal. It is a relatively cheap pedal with a quality looper and a list of good effects. I was surprised how nice an 80s Casio was sounding, and was quite happy with what I was able to put together despite having no experience with a looper. If anyone is looking for a similar setup to the video (while containing the cost of all the pedals), I recommend Zoom G1-Four multi-effects pedal. B1 and A1 models are virtually the same I think.
I've got to play music for a friend who read poetry in front of an audience. I'am going in a very experimental way but watching some parts of your video gave me ideas to add some more melodic stuff sometime. I think it can work with the text and give moment to relax for the audience which is not only people into more experimental stuf. I'll try working on it, last thing I already use my Tera Echo and a Boss DD7 for this project. I think the first one might be a one trick pony, but a delay or a chorus is, when you want to add some unique texture it's one of the effect I think is truly original and new. Not speaking of overpowered granular + ocataver + delay... wich are more some kind of very cool but steal the show pedal and a little bit of OK no matter what I'm gonna play two minor chord and the pedal will make it sound fantastic. Why not the result is what matter but if we all sound fantastic the same way... it's not fantastic anymore IMO. Thanks for the ideas, keep it simple and have fun.
@@RaverOperatorGeeza Cool, it's in french but if you could hear what my friend is writing I think it's very inspiring. Same as experimental music but with words, you can't tell what it was about but the images you saw if youc close your eyes and let yourself go can be beautiful.
Bloody lovely! Did the Casio do the wonderful drums, too? I've got a PT-31, had it years, & I love it still. I watched the video a bit stoned, Now I'm gonna have to try it with a space echo..😂
You go boyeeee!!! It shows what someone can do with the most minimal gear, some effects, and a boatload of taste and creativity. EHX pedals rock, don’t they? Very cool and great job! (PS- Subbed!!)
I got all strymons on my board 😂 I don’t even know where to start to do something like this. Your keys and analogs pedals captured my eyes instantly as soon as I saw this on my feed 😂❤❤
I had the good kind of dumb imagination of colabing with you lol. I haven't thought of myself as a good guitar player till I found Lofi and I find that when I mess around, that I find that I like the way I solo. I don't use fx as I am too broke. My gear consist of a Epiphone Les Paul and a Kona Bass amp.
It definitely took some practicing with the setup and trial and error with the effects. I also worked out the general idea for each separate movement. Glad you enjoy it! 🎹❤️
Hello, thank you, this is a good jam! It reminded me a little of my favorite electronic project - 7 Hurtz. Maybe you will listen to it too and it will inspire you? I've listened to this project hundreds of times, but there hasn't been anything new from them for many years, maybe this will push you and you can write something similar! That would be great!
Is the MT-32's drum sound that crunchy or it there some processing on it that we can't see? Like a circuit bend or something? It almost sounds distorted! Is it just recording level tricks or...?
It is indeed that crunchy, the 8-bit charm is real. When the video starts, the drums are totally unaltered, then I turn on the octave pedal to make the kick drum a little fatter. Glad you're digging it!
how did you manage to output such a crisp audio from that keyboard? i got the same one and the output is so quiet i have to max out the gain, which involves a lot of static. I wanted to guess that you were using a microphone, as you stated in the description but you're clearly using the output jack the keyboard has

Sure thing, it’s plugged into the loop machine and stops and/or erases the current loop.
Is it simple to set up the pedals with the casiotone mt36? And what are the necessary steps
Pretty much the same processes plugging a guitar into effect pedals. Just have to have the right cables and what not. Good luck!
