Doug, thanks a lot for sharing this very interesting episode. Putting all of the money he owes in the U.S. aside, there’s no way he could owe various people $15M in Japan without some hefty amount from underground people with outrageous accrued interests. Being a Japanese myself, I watched Masato Yokosawa’s UA-cam channel about a year ago confessing he’d owed over $2.5M to many including underground outlaws. He even confessed it in tears. Of course, Ryusuke could have been born into a wealthy family, so people lent him that much amount. Hypothetically if his $15M story was true, there’s no way he could return home unless he’s ready to be buried. Being a Japanese national, I can tell you that for sure after living over 60 years.
I was thinking that pretty much anywhere in the world, if you got 15 million in loans to gamble with.......you probably have some money that belongs to people who will get their money back, or their pound of flesh from your ass.
He was really close with Wesley as well. He crashed at his place for a couple of weeks before he supposedly said he was heading back to Japan. He most likely owes 15 million yen which is equivalent to 113k USD.

The fact that he is a scammer has been a bit of a rumor in Japan since he started participating in casino tournaments. The rumor that he was a scammer started because when he first started participating in casino tournaments, he was only known in Japan as Ryusuke, and he did not disclose his real name at that time. It is extremely important to start outing these people. In fact it should be done right away instead of waiting. If people know they will be outed right away the chances of them scamming people are less. It also prevents them from scamming multiple people when it becomes public. Other players deserve to know.
I agree that these people should be outed more publicly, but you have to remember the creditors position. When they put someone on blast like that the chances of getting paid diminish even more
Loaning money even to friends has generally worked out badly for me . not from a business sense but because even when I got paid back the friendship suffered and sometimes was destroyed. At this point if I can't give the money away with no expectation of seeing it again I won't do it.

Yea I don’t get it. Either poker players don’t know how to manage bank rolls. Or are not as rich as they seem. Why are so many high rollers lending and backing other players. If your good at the game yourself is the best bet. I don’t get it
Probably his smiley and nice demeanor was a part of the scam, like he's playing a character. He figured out that if he's always the nicest, friendliest guy in the room, he's way more likely to get people to float him money, as opposed to being a cranky complainer.
There’s virtually no rec gambling in Japan, if you’re playing underground games it’s yakuza run and I guarantee you if he owed even 1 million and was playing on live streams that dude was getting taken out.
another person's reputation hurt from what Airball and Doug say. Airball seemingly didn't have much more detail to tell Doug than what we already heard on stream, other than this random $15m figure
Hey Doug.... Loved the video just just wanted to know if you forgot about that 20 bucks I lent you back in the day to pay for your drink order at the 5-10 Bellagio game we were at😯🙈😜
I agree. And my guess would be that loaning unknown, foreign poker players money is probably at the bottom of every financial planner's list of good financial ideas. Nick Airball lol. That's too funny thanks for sharing!
This is for anyone who would have known better. now we've all learned that we're smarter than a bunch of people in the high stakes community. The problem is that it's easy for someone to come up with a reason why they can't get a million in cash immediately for a card game and fake it like they have it to pay back a loan.
Another lesson in life is don't "lend" money to family.... just assume it's a gift, and you'll never see it back. It's a much easier approach, and it avoids hard feelings later.
if your family siblings don't even want to save you legitimately from financial stress that already tells how short sighted and disgraceful they can be, I'm not even talking about friend circle
For those commenting that the Yakuza might get him, more likely they have already taken a cut from his previous scam, or were behind the previous scam, and not likely they are chasing him down because he ripped off some randoms in Japan, unless they are paid to do so and were not involved and did not get a cut. Also, I have never heard of the Yakuza doing anything much outside of Japan, although I expect they just contact locals when they need something done in a foreign country.
This sucks and I feel bad for all the good people that loaned this guy. He was one of my favorite hustler players too. Sad. I hope he digs out and pays everyone back. Maybe we see him at the wsop and he scores and pays some ppl back. ❤

@@scrubfive9239 The original comment does say if he pays everyone back it would be refreshing to seem him at the WSOP. Obviously not if he is not going to pay them back.
He is digging out now. He was spotted playing 5/5 $500/ max buy-in. He is on a roll, he is up 4 buy-ins, so now only has $14,998,000 left to win to get everyone paid back. He asked everyone to remain patient and to show he is a stand-up guy he sent a $50 token payment to his backers in good faith.

6:30 I don't think this hand has anything to do with the "lights off" or players being "comfortable" top boat vs quads plus a nick airball equals all the money. I thought you were gonna say something like, "after the stream, there was a 800k pot in a single raise pot with only one pair winning" and I would have been like yea... that's a good point to prove your theory. But I do understand the theory and agree with it, just seems like weird timing to mention that hand in your explanation why big pots get played off stream. Also didn't want to mention the other player was blank check Ben? Lol of fucking course this would he a huge hand, off stream or on stream....
Ryusuke is proof that most of these players some people idolize are broke and pretending to be ballers. The only players I respect on HCL are Mike X, Airball, Garrett, Jibrael since he's a lawyer and honest, and Keating. 💯

How, precisely, do you run up a $15 million dollar no limit tab?? DGAF and Tuchman couldn’t stop gushing about Ryuske every time he was on stream.
Props to the cinematic music at the end, I didn’t know if I was listening to a poker Vlog, or watching field of dreams
Doug you really are FKN hilarious and fantastic bro we appreciate your content greatly. Thank you.Andrew
Thanks Polk! Keep up the great content.
Fabulous advice, Doug ❤
It's almost as if loaning six figures to acquaintances, to gamble with, could be a risky idea. Hard to believe!!
Glad to see Doug making content. He is the best poker content creator and it's not even close.
I rarely comment on poker vids but when it comes to money, you will always know who are truly your friends vs. who you "think" are your friends.
lol imagine people lending you a total of over $15 million dollars, the high stakes/asian poker scene is crazy.
This is the first I've heard of a poker player skating out on his debts....shocking😂😂😂😂
Who is dumb enough to lend huge piles of your own money to someone you didn't grow up with and know the whole family for decades?
Nik airball
Everyone in the high stakes community, mainly because it can get difficult to move money around otherwise, and the games would suffer.
Successful people with high net worths that understand the value of networking. Nothing @timmpy34 needs to concern himself with.
Yea I don’t get it. Either poker players don’t know how to manage bank rolls. Or are not as rich as they seem. Why are so many high rollers lending and backing other players. If your good at the game yourself is the best bet. I don’t get it
Nailed it! I wouldn't loan a stranger 10 bucks
Been waiting for this ... watching as I'm typing & good lord Doug, what's with the Legends of the Fall score? 🤣😂
never lend money give it....if it comes back its a bonus
I remember Wesley was saying Ryuske was staying at his place 🤦🏻♂️
Hope he doesn't owe money to the wrong people or he may actually become the $15 million ghost shortly.
Some very important life lessons, I think maybe the best video you have ever posted!
Who knew all we needed was Doug to have a baby for him to start posting more content
Hey it was because he too busy MAKING the baby, he couldnt make content. He was making a live content instead
Gotta pay for those diapers. They ain't cheap. I got two babies and their poops are putting me in the poor house
Easily my favorite player on HCL, Ryu disappears and Hairball is on most streams, life is unfair sometimes
This channel being back is the best thing that happened since my balls dropped
Probably his smiley and nice demeanor was a part of the scam, like he's playing a character. He figured out that if he's always the nicest, friendliest guy in the room, he's way more likely to get people to float him money, as opposed to being a cranky complainer.
Production on these newer videos are top notch. Reminds me a lot of @Coffeezilla Nice work!
Doug is a cool dude he came by the casino in Rhode Island last week and showed the locals a lot of love.
At first glance I thought it was Rampage poker that you were talking about lol
He owes $15M in Japan? Lol. I think airball just makes shit up.
1. How does airball know that?
2. Are we sure it's USD and not Yen? 😂
There’s virtually no rec gambling in Japan, if you’re playing underground games it’s yakuza run and I guarantee you if he owed even 1 million and was playing on live streams that dude was getting taken out.
does anybody know what ryuske does for a living? hard to run up credit without knowing his main source of income.
another person's reputation hurt from what Airball and Doug say. Airball seemingly didn't have much more detail to tell Doug than what we already heard on stream, other than this random $15m figure
After the Gman interview, Airballs credibility is pretty low.
@John Mangiola lol no, there LOTS of underground poker in Japan, not ran by the mob.
Hey Doug.... Loved the video just just wanted to know if you forgot about that 20 bucks I lent you back in the day to pay for your drink order at the 5-10 Bellagio game we were at😯🙈😜
JR mentioned a "7 figure rub" on Joe Ingram's podcast. Didn't mention the individual involved, seems like it was probably Ryusuke.
There is a LOT of rubs at that size in the environment..
link? I can't seem to find this
@@jackjackmusic They were discussing the J4 Robbi hand. Same one where JR said he was quitting poker.
Excellent work Polk!
I heard mikki loaned him 2 billion dollars
Love your honesty Doug..
ruske is an absolute legend and gentleman on the felt!! he would never scam a soul
hmmm I believe Andrew....not
Hi Ryusuke
I agree. And my guess would be that loaning unknown, foreign poker players money is probably at the bottom of every financial planner's list of good financial ideas. Nick Airball lol. That's too funny thanks for sharing!
I feel bad for Booth, guy had his game and bankroll ruined by a person with a God account online who could see his cards.
He should've known better. Online is rigged.
This is for anyone who would have known better. now we've all learned that we're smarter than a bunch of people in the high stakes community. The problem is that it's easy for someone to come up with a reason why they can't get a million in cash immediately for a card game and fake it like they have it to pay back a loan.
Ryusuke is the japanese Cyril mouly
I was surprised he was playing on the stream as the rumours swelled of large debts. He has owed millions for years.
Great video Doug
For those commenting that the Yakuza might get him, more likely they have already taken a cut from his previous scam, or were behind the previous scam, and not likely they are chasing him down because he ripped off some randoms in Japan, unless they are paid to do so and were not involved and did not get a cut. Also, I have never heard of the Yakuza doing anything much outside of Japan, although I expect they just contact locals when they need something done in a foreign country.
“Doug puts out 15 million dollar APB for miniature Japanese magician”
This sucks and I feel bad for all the good people that loaned this guy. He was one of my favorite hustler players too. Sad. I hope he digs out and pays everyone back. Maybe we see him at the wsop and he scores and pays some ppl back. ❤
he would be absolutely dumb to show up on a live streamed high profile event lmao. that's the last thing you want to do if you are trying to avoid people.
@@scrubfive9239 The original comment does say if he pays everyone back it would be refreshing to seem him at the WSOP. Obviously not if he is not going to pay them back.
@@IAmTheRealUsopperGoddamnit He said maybe he plays the WSOP and scores so he can pay people back lol
@@scrubfive9239 Oh yeah mb bro. That would be crazy LOL
I would love to get backing into one of the WSOP events! for 2023 (60% for me in winnings 40% for my backer) from my finish...I would love that...been playing poker cash games for years...😀
6:30 I don't think this hand has anything to do with the "lights off" or players being "comfortable" top boat vs quads plus a nick airball equals all the money.
"One may smile, and smile, and be a villain" - Hamlet (Shakespeare)
Ay, springes to catch woodcocks, I do know!
Ryusuke is proof that most of these players some people idolize are broke and pretending to be ballers. The only players I respect on HCL are Mike X, Airball, Garrett, Jibrael since he's a lawyer and honest, and Keating. 💯
I’m suspicious of all these guys that routinely dust off 5 and 6 figures with little to no affect. Including air ball, blank check , keating . Wouldn’t be surprised if there are scandals in their shadows .
can you please review the video if andy stacks clearly stealing money off the table on hustler live?
MikeX talked about this in a comment. They reviewed the video and Andy gave back the money. MikeX even vouched that Andy didn't do it on purpose
Bro it was 10k. You gotta be dumb af to believe Andy a multi millionaire did that on purpose. Didn't even look like it was on purpose lol.
@@piFFD513 yh mike is naive tho becoz theres more videos of andy doing this stuff
@@indigochild2.098 🤣
@@indigochild2.098 lmao what? Stop it man. Andy is an honest dude. He would never outright steal from a player. If there are more videos, feel free to link them, but I know for a fact there aren't any you're just talking outta your toosh
great video Doug!
If he supposedly owes 15 mil in Japan I'll go out on a limb and say he shouldn't have been playing on livestreams in a well known location. I hope he is ok but wouldn't be surprised if he isn't...
