Le Chiffre should have just realised he's in a bond movie, read the script and seen bond had the nuts. Easy laydown.
fold and wait for a better spot
The "In Time" one killed me 😂
You can't muck your hand in a tournament after an all in, especially for all the money.
the movie plays out in like the 90s or early 00's, back then you could do whatever you wanted basically.
I think Alex and Kristen foxen need to take some notes
@@glennhagstedt It was even more strict before hole card cameras. Just like the rule that if you are last to act on the river with the nuts, you MUST bet or raise, when two or more players are all in, both hands must be tabled in order to prevent collusion, which is exactly what this was.
Ok. I asked this question above. I was thinking isn't that technically a collusion.
@@MarkoAssi_pokervlogger Absolutely it's chip dumping and collusion (though kind of a weird situation because the father isn't in on it).
The scene in the movie "In Time" which is actually a pretty decent movie, doesn't make sense on several levels. Not only the points that Fedor points out but also the villian could just wait 4 secs and the hero would be *DEAD* not his hand but him and the villian wouldn't have to pay him anything - that's what i would do
The most realistic cash game poker hand I've seen in a movie is in the home game in the movie "Mississippi Grind." Really good gambling film.
Nice to see you cover Lucky You - it’s usually missed but it’s an interesting one. Some great cameos from people like Jen Harmon and D Negs as well!
Totally. I really liked Lucky You as well.
Good content Fedor. Nice to mix up 'proper' coaching/reviews with some lighter content, still relevant and interesting. Cheers!
would also love to see you review that hand from "billions" when they call with like 9 high or something
If i had been the villain in this time movie, i had just tanked for a few seconds and my opponent would have been dead and not able to reveal his cards so i win.
LMAO
Was hoping the scene in Mollys Game where the clown folded the nuts was included. Unbelievable Hollywood scene, anyone playing for those stakes would not make that mistake. Great fun video though, interesting to see Fedor analyze hands!
When he folded Q9 because he thought his opponent had KK? He had the fourth nuts. QQ, KK, and 9K all beat him. Its still a terrible fold, but it wasn't the "nuts".
@@Melvinvanharn Yep, you're right but the hand I was referring to was 26 minutes into the movie where the guy got bluffed off the actual nuts because player x trash talked him into folding.
Okay, you are correct. I forgot about that scene. That's so tilting. Folding the nuts can be correct in Omaha, but in Hold em, heads up, it can't happen.
The problem with the "cookie tell" scene is that Damon's character would never have given Teddy KGB the information he needed to figure out that he had the tell. He basically told him, "I'm folding this because of your tell."
Fedor seems like the kind of guy would be cool to be around. Have only seen him in a serious setting. 👍
That's great! 🏆🙂🙏🏼
If you’ve never watched “The Sopranos” - take a look at the season 2 episode “The Happy Wanderer.” It’s hilarious and deals with a losing poker player that gets in debt with the mob.
“Tony, you know me! Our kids go to school together!”
“Get up.”
Ahhhh fedor!!!schön dich zu sehen!!!!
Cool! I missed the movie Shade in there.
What about the Nick Nolte awful movje lol Straight flush vs Straight flush, Honeymoon in Vegas
we need part 2 bro
Wow good video
How do you fold aces full if you’re Le Chiffre?
Please do a video about the film "all in" ❤❤ btw was nice to see you in Switzerland
Did you know teddy had Aces in the last hand .. if you play frame by frame you can see it when he throws the cards away
Should review Jack Pearson's hand from the show "This Is Us."
Flush vs Boat vs Boat vs Straight-flush was absolutely absurd, Idk what you're smoking but that's never gonna happen.
There is a scene where the hero is getting owned by the vilain who call him with Ten high, but i can't recall which movie is it from 😏
About the last hand, as it is an All-In tournament situation, isn't he supposed to show his cards anyway ?
He must but if he throw the cards the dealer couldn't take them and show to everybody as it mixed with others. Sometimes players do this
ahahahahah so good the in time
lol Fedor :D
A shame Fedor hasn’t seen Cincinnati kid
right, especially the reveal of the hand in the final scene was shocking..
How could you leave out Burt Reynolds movie deal? If you haven't seen it give it a watch
Burt Reynolds probably died before Fedor was even born?
A Big Hand for the Little Lady final hand.
It would have been cool if we all knew what Teddy had when Mike had 8 9, Sucks that we don't get to see Teddy's hand when he folded to Mike's KKs first hand
Debated this for years. He flopped a set of 10s or rivered a set
That ace couldnt help you is kinda suggesting like he has a lot of them but idk
He had aces .. just like the first time he stacked damon .. you can see it if you play frame by frame
That last hand, was that a tournament? Sorry I didn't watch the movie. If that wasn't heads-up for final two....isn't that considered collusion if he mucks the winning hand?
Yes. He essentially dumped his chips to his father to give him an edge against the other player. Definitely not a fair play.
@@seguren why did Fedor choose not to mention it?
@@MarkoAssi_pokervlogger Yeah, I don't know. I think maybe he just wanted to focus on it being a nice moment between father and son.
Spoiler Alert:
Before that moment, the main character hated his father, so it was meant to be something wholesome. Also, the other character ends up winning anyway, so it didn't even matter.
this guy really just said you should fold a full house...
All in 6 million 😂
"If i would tönt nicht gut" 🤪
Funny how pro pokerplayer is fine with soft play (Lucky You).. Specially in a big tournament final table like in the movie..
Speaking about casino royale scene, instead of analysing players' decisions, I would better mention that IRL players rarely shove all the chips, they simply dont have to. And in case of monsieur le Chiffre, he could just announce the call. Showdown - then dealer does the maths with chips and plaques. What if there is a choppot? They would waste tons of time rewatching the video trying to figure out which amount of money was put into pot by each player. Also, since Bond was the last one to raise he should've shown his hand first, not the last. And when all players show their hands dealer doesnt take their cards and make a combination with community cards.
Also the blinds are 500k/1m - so the first player shoves for 4 big blinds)))
Also there is no button on the table in this hand...which is a missdeal anyway)
And then Bond tips the dealer with a tournament chip which has no cash value)
@@artemkorolev2257 They were playing tournament style, but for cash, as far as I remember, so the chips actually had their exact value in cash. But the whole scene is absurd anyway, for different reasons.
@@Bruceylancer absolutely, and I never thought I'd say this, but Fedor is wrong, there is no way somebody is folding a full-house there, it's a massive cooler.
@@Bruceylancer 4bb shove in a cash game - nice)
@@artemkorolev2257 Yeah, exactly, I just wrote another comment about this. The 2 short-stacked guys would've shoved their 88 and KQs either pre-flop or at least on the flop, given how short they are and that they are only 4-handed. No way the action gets to the river in this setup.
Teddy has honour? hahaha It's a movie!!! Can't have the hero make a great play without the pay off.
It's a moooooovie!!
Come on guys! where is the Maverick final poker scene??? slow roll at its best
Play now like in movies seen 👍. New James Poker Bond i. Watch out 😂
The "Casino Royale" scene is pretty unrealistic as well. The two other players (except the main 2 characters) were very short, they had about 10 BBs when the hand started, there's no way they would've gotten to the river with the hands they had. Would've gotten all-in either preflop or on the flop at best.
I am here after watching Greg goes allin . Fedar u r late
That last scene was de facto chip dumping. Also, can't believe he didn't mention the ridiculous s**t the dealer was doing with the cards in Casino Royale and nvm the fact that he doesn't even bother working out side pots. All of those scenes are terrible. Apparently, Greg Raymer was an advisor to the writers on CR but he was ignored.
Would be too confusing for the audience tbh
Holy shit, Fedor is WAY different away from the table.
Teddy had to pay Mike his money...there were like 20 people watching the game at that point. If he didnt pay Mike the money then no one would ever play at Teddy's room again because word would spread that Teddy is a cheat and he will lose his players.
last scene is not good, you cannot Muck your hand on a All in - call scenario, if you muck, it's collusion. Another Lie from the film industrie.
In cash games you can
You can muck but it be demanded to show or not
@@utkarssrivasta5981 There's tournament rules. Poker Bunny got into trouble for trying to throw her cards into the muck ( she was probably being staked at the time ). She grabbed the dealers hands and then ran out the casino. When she went back to play in another tournament, they probably called her into the office and gave her a warning.
Fedor condoning chip dumping in lucky you???
hahahaha exactly
what if you fold the nuts and muck them? They"ll never know it if there are no cameras. For example your friend is all in and you have the nuts and you are last to act 😂
Are you feeling satisfied yet ?
I just realized this guy's head is way too big for his body. Like it's really strange after you watch him.. am I tripping,😅😂
Who is this guy ?
In Time had such an amazing concept but the "Casino Scene" bothered me every time I watched it ... the dialogue afterwards was also cringe as the hero (played by Justin Timberlake) reveals that he was never in doubt that he was gonna win ... yup with 8 4 o on a gut shot Flop ...
Big hand for the little lady
in time is one of those movies where soooo many dumb people think it’s SO smart but it’s just dumb
KGB doesn't pay Mike because he has "honor". He pays him because a room full of his high stakes regulars are railbirding the game. If he didn't pay Mike, NO ONE would ever play at KGB's club again.
Slightly worrying anybody wants to see fedor rate anything
In Time, wasn't too cringy. The main character is just a massive whale who got lucky. Molly's Game is the most cringy poker movie I've ever seen.
I had a hard time buying Malkovich as a Russian mobster but that's because I love watching John Malkovich movies. The oreo cookie stuff was cringe.
Here’s the review they are all horrible. Especially the James Bond nonsense.
Bunch of trash movies, Teddy KGB is the best actor in Rounders, I wouldn't watch if if not for Malkovich
These movies are old enough to have stupid poker plays in them. Casino Royale was ridiculous. The BB at the final hand was 1million...there's a 5 and a 6BB stack all in after it checked to the river. First off why is a big stack limping with A6 in a 4 handed game? How did 2 players get to 5 and 6 big blinds this deep? Why are 2 short stacks with the hands they had NOT all in pre flop? A6 and 5-7 suited, both who have large stacks, can call 6 BB all ins pre flop. True its all Hollywood dramatic movie shit, but COMPLETELY unrealistic how it was played. Not to mention 4 big hands made by every player in the same hand.
The Movie is from 2005 / 2006. The strategy back then was far away from what we know today. Calling Preflop back then was standard. In Reality a 4way Call Preflop with these hands would be normal + a 4way All In on the Flop wouldnt surprise me - back in 06.
And tbh Casino Royale was one piece why i am playing Poker still today. Its unrealistic, but shows how cool Poker can be - even it will never happen to the most of pokerplayers in reality.
The shallowness of the stacks (along with the absurd stakes that don't exist anywhere) is definitely the stupidest thing about the James Bond hand. I guess, though, that even though Fedor is giving an expert's opinion, he can't make it absolutely incomprehensible to the non-poker audience by discussing concepts like stack depth and why putting in so much money with 75s that shallow is moronic. And then there's all the slow rolling. In a real game you would turn the straight flush up straight away, rather than wait for every other player at the table to reveal their hands one by one. But as you say, it's Hollywood, and the tension and the drama is the main thing.
