Instructions unclear; where is the part when I pay you to do the job for me?
Also, are you sure that's a ground @at 4:17? 🤔
Love ya, man.
I would love to do it for you brother! Ouch! I just checked and you are right I misspoke on that one, Let's chat that one up on Tuesday!
Inaccurate. This is for 2007-2009 models. The 2010-2011 models have two belts not one
wait wait wait...hold on...go back. I can't find my 10mm socket.
Its a trap!
Edgive him back his SOCKET! ----------LOL
@@danielbackley9301 Yeah Ed! I don't know how you can sleep at night....and No, there is no such thing as a Socket Fairy ...that's just a fairy tale that started at the MAC Tools Christmas party. (They were introducing a new line of tooth fairy items for dentists that year).
Ed you got to yell at us and wave your hands around like Scotty Kilmer 😜👀
I will on one of these for laughs for sure!
He forgot that part . BTW doing this was a lot easier on 1980s vintage Chevys
Personally, I didnt have to take off the wheel or guard to do it :) it would make it easier, but i got skinny arms and hands and it was much quicker to do without. Perfect video man you earned a sub! I got an 07 camry so if you have more videos on it I'll use you as reference 👍
This is a 4 cylinder? My sister's 6 cylinder alternator and brackets etc are much different looking. When I have watched 6 cylinder videos, most have to disassemble the radiator core support, the radiator, and a mess of other things. I sure wish her car was the setup in your video.
Great job! Keep it simple!!Keep it real!! The trait of a great instructor!
Great instruction video! No fluff got right to the point didn’t over explain, and tells you exactly what you need to know. Thank you!
Thanks please consider subscribing
That diagram is still way better than I would have drawn it....anyway, MANY thanks for this.
Just plain awesome video, a life /time saver😊
That's a 14mm socket for the tensioner pulley. The Harbor Freight/Pittsburgh serpentine tool kIt does not come with a 14mm socket and it is difficult to use the 14mm crowfoot attachment that does come with the set. Was easy enough to loosen the belt but getting it back on had to go at it at an angle from the top with the wrench pointing down to torque enough to get the belt back on the water pump pulley. Thanks for the video, was a big help!!
Thanks for the 14mm info!!
Thank you. You saving me from paying 600 to fix a simple problem.
Does anyone have the part number for the belt for a 2011?
I think you need to specify cylinder amount liter and a bit more info
We’re you get the alternator? Thanks for sharing.usa
O'Reilly Auto Parts customer didn't want to pop for the Toyota one
Thank you bro
Does anyone have the torque for the alternator bolts?
The 10mm ground nut goes on snug, the bottom bolt is usually torqued 16ft-lbs and the top is 38ft-lbs
2011 is different. 2007-2009 are different from 2010-2012
Thank you for the video.. Go out and get the serpentine belt tool kit, it make the job so much easier and its only $20 at Harbor Freight!
Do most Toyotas have those boat style battery clamps?
Not sure bro, This is how it came.
If you could be putting in the belt with " clean " hands . I think would be better than possibly getting dirt , grease , etc onto the belt .
Maybe I missed it but how did you determine the alternator needed replacing? Job well done 👍
The old alternator was providing under 11.5 volts, I was expecting 13V ~14V and while inspecting the vehicle turned off while idling. Battery tested good but vehicle kept dying. Customer complaint was car dying and lights dimmed, radio slowly died they mentioned Batt light came on.
Not for a 3.5l should have that in the title.
Thanks for the feedback
Great job Ed.. Keep the videos coming..!
You got it!
Awesome thanks I'm gonna try today
Amigo, muy buen Video, pero cuando agas otro Video, favor de hacerlo 100% Completo, gracias
Me encantaría hacerlo, pero cuando hago vídeos sin recortarlos, son demasiado largos y mucha gente no los ve.
Never said the size of bolt 6:10
Nice catch! tough to get all the details in a video like this. I beleive its a 12mm as well
Great vid. To the point, good lighting. Good quality picture.
Thank You! Please check out the rest of my content and if it makes sense for you please subscribe. I have lots of content monthly on tools, tech, and DIY.

I WANT TO SEE IF YOU CAN HELP ME I LIVE IN SOUTH TX AND I GOT A CAMRY 2002 AND I CAN NOT LET IS START PLEASE HELP ME OUT
What is the car doing? Always start with the basics power, spark, fuel and air. Do you have a code reader or check engine light on? I cant officially give advice but I can guess with you.
Not for 2011 Camry
What years so I may correct?
@@edtheoldtechguy 2011
When releasing tension do you go counter clock wise? Or keep going clockwise?
counter clockwise or if using a flat bar toward the cab.
I love you.
@jonnyduster WOW Thank you! I am glad it helped. Please watch a few more videos, and if they make sense for your viewing needs, consider subscribing and know that I love you too😉
Awesome video. Best one on this job.
Wow, thanks!
WATCH OUT FOR THE NIPPLE ON THE RADIATOR THAT HAS THE HOSE TO THE OVERFLOW RES. VERY EASY TO SNAP THAT OFF. THE ONLY FIX FOR THAT IS A NEW RADIATOR
Good call thank you!
Please wear insulating gloves while touching the terminals of the battery. It's not the battery due to the low 12V, but you can get shocked from other electrical components inside the car.
Good advice
NO NOT REALLY, YOUR SAFE , JUST SCARED !!
good job
Thank you! Please consider subscribing it would help the channel a lot.
Great Vid! Clear and to the point. Thank you for your work in doing this.
Glad you enjoyed it!
👍🏽
Chris Fix #2 lol you sure that was a ground ? Very clear instructions
Theo my brother, It is not a ground😂😂🤣🤣😃😃! I misspoke but left it in there after Jonathan Sherwood caught it. You are the second to catch it thank you. I am leaving it in there for the COuncil to have something else to roast me on.
@@edtheoldtechguy don't worry we will roast you Ed after all you are a engineer who likes Honda Ridgelines lolol good stuff my friend
Why did put the lug nuts on backwards
To see who was paying attention. I always leave some mistake in my videos to see who can catch it LOL its fun and its like where's waldo 🤐😜
Thank you for sharing the socket Size ? DUH
Which socket size was not shared? I believe I call out 10mm multiple times and other sizes. If I missed one you should know making these videos is not easy and mistakes happen all the time. No way I can make everyone happy.
great vid. just changed my alternator. my 2011 Camry has 2 belts tho.
If I run into one of those and I have time I'll make another video. Thanks for watching and commenting
@@edtheoldtechguy it's not all that different. the tensioner is just in a different place
@zerothe3rd Great to know thank you for sharing.
Great vid. Thanks for this! 👍

Really good video, seems like a lot with the belt though to me anyway but great work, A1 auto caliber video.
Thank You
