🙌🏾🙌🏾
I was at this gig in 1982. It was the only time I saw Miles (my musical hero) live. Miles was not on top form, but Marcus Miller and Mike Stern were cooking. You will never be forgotten Miles. 🌞🙏🇬🇧🌞
I was at this gig. Was completely transfixed by Miles as he prowled the stage - he had an incredible aura about him
David Bauckham Hello to you David, I was at this concert.
Do you recall a young Woman in audience called out part way through the gig,
" We want Miles " brought unexpected smile to Miles, face.
Strange how somethings stick in the mind.
Peace to all !!
So cool - I saw Miles for the first time later that year in Boston (same band) ... was only 16 and absolutely floored! So thankful I got to see Miles a few times in the 80s
@@alankirkby465.. Good stories.
@@txa1265.. Did your mom drop you off? Ha.. I had a buddy of mine's mom dropped him off to see Hendrix. He was 16.
@@ilovetomorrow We got dropped off at the T station (in Braintree, south of Boston), then picked up by another one of our parents. Walking in the city as a teenager was really cool also
The Album "We Want Miles" in 1982 is UNREAL...pretty sure it won a Grammy.
saw this in brussels... changed my life....
Miller's prime time!
Marcus is so damn good. Can't believe he's only like 22 here. Ridiculous!
I know, most likely the greatest career of any electric bassist when you consider his discography and achievements. The dude was 21 years old on Man with the Horn.
The Marcus Miller's groove is astonishing.
@Andrew Korvin the second best, Les Claypool from Primus
Are a step better😎
@@Captain-Nostromo nah first Marcus tone and style of groove is Legendary and he's a extremely balanced bassist a veteran sideman ...he's a complete bassist capable of handling any musical situation
I was at this Miles, concert. Recall it was a full house.
Peace to all.
bring on the funk. Miles the master.
MILES DAVIS IS INCREDIBLE!!!!! seeing these bands live was, and will always ve remembered as a mystic experience...right ON!!
I was at that gig too. Unlike some of the posters comments on here, I enjoyed Stern's playing with Miles. If Miles disliked Stern so much I find it difficult to believe he would record 2 studio albums with him & then invite him back into the band some years later.
Miles liked Stern's playing. He disliked Stern's inability to manage his heroin addiction and the way it would affect his ability to perform. Mile's mantra: "Don't get high. Stay high."
Miles was 56 years old in this concert as he was born in 1926!!
the maddest thing of all time
YESSSSS......I'm so thankful 'We Want Miles' is available on iTunes
Sad I never saw Miles my Favorite Musician of all Time from Bebop to Hip hop Miles saw Marcus twice Great concert. It wasn't till I saw Miles with Quincy Jones at Montreal Jazz fest on TV in 93 after his passing he did his Old stuff he said he'd never do again to hard but Q convinced him also I that show the late Hrest Wallce Roney Miles gave him a signature red Horn also Great Kenny Garrett had tears after that Miles Davis. Marcus is 23 already had been Producer for Luther Vandross Love and play We want Miles all the time
love this shit....its ...its its...
check out al foster's smile during mike's solo. stern tears it up!
Incredible live stuff!
miles davis, great musician.
Thanks !
Hey , Marcus Miller is absolutely friggin' awesome!
My god this is brilliant - love it.
Thanks for posting this.
Awesome is not enough to describe how I like this track and all the low lines that Marcus does... thanks for posting... wish I saw that LIVE!
awesome, thank you very much.
i was stunned when i first heard this piece
EXCELLENT!!!! WE MISS YOU!
Insanely Amazing!!!
-extremely good perform, thx
I m with you
funny thing is 29 years later - if you get these musicians to play together again; would they be able to match this without Miles...
Giant, whatever the choise of cutting the solo of Bill... It was certainly chosen to make you watch and listen to the whole concert..... But he best solos of Bill , and in back seat betty, are for sure in another concert, the one of 4 10 1981 in Japan...
Je me souviens à Lyon 83 . Miles Davis jouais des notes rondes unique! Il se tournait vers bill Evans en souriant, tu l à vue c ette note magnifique? Les cuivres me comprendrons , après quelques années de pose MD devais retrouver sa sonorité legendaire🎺🎺
We want Miles!
cool.
Coool Maaan Nice 1 :)
For those of you bass players who just want to concentrate on Marcus's slappin'............!
Miles with a mustache. Epic.
Marcus would have been about 23-24 in this...scary.
22-23! scarier!
👍
@Intenzity NO! THIS WAS IN 1982! MILES WAS VERY ILL AT THAT TIME! HE WAS BORN IN 1926, TWO YEARS BEFORE MY MOTHER WHO IS NOW 87!
Mike Stern with a tum thats why Miles named the track Fat Time after him lol
マーカス・ミラー!✨
Yeah! The young and chubby Mike Stern!! uhahuahahuuh...
Al Foster though. Wow.
thank u ricksuchow for the post
@kujichagulia1 Read my post again.
I said "MARCUS" as in Marcus Miller, his bass player, not Miles.
Do I detect a little chorus in Marcus' bass tone? Marcus Miller's accompaniment, featuring "dropped D," tuning sounds delightfully "Anthony Jacksonesque!" If you'll recall, just two years before this, Anthony was still detuning his "hybrid" Jazz bass with a Precision neck.
lol marcus was only 22 he was the new kid on the block...he admitted he learned that from Anthony overall marcus said he wanted to commit to that 77 modified 4 string and didn't want to keep switching bassed during particular gigs so he utilize every part of that jazz bass
next post are not for ricksuchow...who i thank for the post
What's in Miles' trumpet's leather pouch?
I believe its where Miles, put is embouchure/ mouth piece, when he was not performing.
Peace to all !!
Al Foster...
Oh no its Bull Evans the sax player : (
That sucks like a black hole in space. I thought I was gonna hear them play what I was drawn to from the original recording but but completely twisted it around what you can't even recognize what they're playing. If somebody would have have said what Miles Davis cut is this? Hhuuuuh?
It's very bad the master lets himself go: unworthy of him
your chops don't come back right away after a 5 year layoff..it took about 3 years to get them back(right when they recorded star people)....the band is great though..
miles somehow he was hating how mike was playing.was to rock for him and doesn t give any idea for playing to him.he said in his biography.
you thoroughly misunderstood what you read. miles LOVED stern's playing
Miles too low in the mix. Damn hot clip though.
AT 2:09 Mike Shake yo ass bro!!! Haha!!!
this is your brain on drugs
Primitive and complex, all @ once...
C'est très mauvais le maître se laisse aller: indigne de lui🤔🤔🥺🥺😤😤💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾
