- Testing out an insane new AOE2 build order for a 14 minute steppe lancer rush. Here I play an aoe2 1v1 ranked match as Mongols testing a 23+2 fast castle into 1 stable lancers build order. AOE2 Steppe Lancer is the best unit in the game in my opinion.

Haha yeah i think the issue with the upgrades was because i left the berry vills idle which meant i couldnt get double bit axe. Which had a knock on effect and delayed my black smith and 2nd stable.

@@MorleyGames1 so I had a few losses UNTIL I got my timing right. Once I was able to smoothly click from feudal to castle with little delay, and I started getting attack upgrades instead of armor, I won like 5 out of 6. Lots of fun. I made a video about it and referenced you in it.

My title would be: how I fall from 1070 ELO to 961 ELO by applyting Crazy Mongol strategy and dying to almost every archer rush. Or dying agains Britons in Post-Imp when I survived the rush. Maybe it's outdated agains modern clean 2 archery ranges archer rushes?
Yes, 2 range archers is a counter. It’s just that higher elo’s tend not to do 2 range archers anymore. Although it is still normally successful at 1000 elo from what i’ve heard. I climbed to 1600 with this. You could try opening with a couple of knights then lancers. Try to get maybe 2 knights and 4 lancers before trying to attack the enemy archers

I tried it a couple of times on similar ELO and got to say, it depends on the matchup and the reaction you provoke. When facing civ such as Bohemians it works like a charm, but against Tatars (had them twice already) it gets a bit tricky since they have strong cav archers and camels. My takeaway for now is, that it is easier to pull off against certain civs, especially without camels.
Also, when your opponent is fully walled and manages to do houses behind supported by spearmen, you will not do as much damage.
But this is really great (opening) strat, I need to get comfortable with it. It has a lot of potential, I will keep experimenting with it (such as supporting yourself with siege or castle drop). Cheers!
Interesting. I have 13 wins in 13 games with it so far. Most of them, the game is pretty much over by 20 minutes as you have normally had 3 minutes raiding the enemy eco. It’s one of those strats where you have to cause a lot of eco damage before they reach castle age. I normally like to add siege if it goes past 20 minutes.

@@MorleyGames1 That is true. Timing is the key and I do not manage to get clean uptimes consistently. There is always something missing in Feudal and since I try the version without market, it slows me of valuable raiding time.
Also, few times they went for fast castle themselves as if they expected this coming 😅

@@MorleyGames1 Ok, after few more games I have to say it works fairly consistently. 12 wins vs 5 losses and most of the wins are in the consequent run up to 1387 ELO which is the highest I ever was. The only question now is, how can I now play anything else since at this ELO everyone will crush me for sure if I did anything else. 😅

@@LongBoy.0 this is much faster than a standard fc knights. Standard FC knights cannot be done on arabia in 1v1 due to it being slow

Looks fun & I know FC on arabia is generally risky, but if you're doing this and you're up against an archer rush, how would you play this? You said something about a tower, but you're going up to castle by selling your stone 😵💫
if you sell stone and click up as the archers arrive just ff go next
I have an alternate build that i use vs archers that keeps the stone for a defensive tower. Selling the stone is usually a little bit of an easier build. I will be making a proper guide. 9 wins out of 9 on arabia so far.

Dude, I just faced that strat playing as Burmese... My opponent actually clicked to castle at 10:40 (never seen someone click to CA that fast)... It felt like there was nothing I could do... My maa got to his base at 10:00 and keep atacking his small walls, then I decided to send some archers to disrupt his wood, but as soon my archers got there he was already CA producing lancers and it was game already... How do you even counter this thing?
The main thing to do is to keep them off of gold if you can. Tower their main gold. This is only really possible if you are expecting it, which you can figure out by their feudal age timing, if it’s not 18 pop timing which is what you’d expect them to do. Otherwise, making sure you can wall up and keep them out with stone walls if possible and then going double stable knights.
Just go fast archer rush (2 archeries) and distrupt the hell out of it (berries, wood, vils around TC) - any lancers won't be a harm to you (and keep on sending archers and making farms to go castle around 17-18 min)

12:00 I see ppl do this and i don't get it, why not build 1-2 stone wall rather thana house here "to block the cavs"? I mean it is 5 stone vs 30 wood which is a good trade and the cavs can't actually break it.
I do get people stone walling fairly often now but i think the reason people dont is because they want to be sure they have the stone still for 2 TC’s, but that’s why you have a market if needed
