When you say these grips made a big difference in feel (especially in forearms) i was excited to order a pair. I could tell you were honestly impressed with them. I have been following you for years & i believe that what you say is genuine & comes from the heart. A total gym really is everything all in 1. The attachments/accessories that can be used with a total gym is so gratifying for me to see on your channel. Just when i think i've seen it all, there is something else to discover! Thanks for sharing this video.
I really appriciate you following the channel for so long and that you find it helpful. I got a lot more to show you! The possibilities with a Total Gym are as endless as your imagination.
I was anxious to try these and ordered them right away. I like to add forearm exercises and grip strengthening, but am inconsistent. Used the Fat Gripz today and definitely realized more “activation” in the forearm. I’m writing this several hours after my workout and it’s clear I’ve had a good arm workout. This next comment needs to be “taken with a grain of salt”, or with the realization that I’m a nearly 65 year old lady. I have the strap style handles (not the chrome handles) and I struggled to get the grips on. I wanted to try them, so I persisted. Would have helped to have someone hold the handle while I opened the grip. I suspect they would be easier to put on the chrome handles. I’ll try again, once I get my chrome handles back from my brother. Thanks for the reviews and great videos.
Just tried the Fat Gripz..they arrived in the mail today. All i can say is these things really do work! Big Time! I started out on a low setting to use these.( i started at level 3 on my XLS) They worked muscles i have never felt worked before. I spent 5 minutes on bench press & curls. I went to sit down and could feel my muscles pulsing like as if i had worked out 20 minutes on level 6! Great investment for sure, i think i'l just keep the grips on. Love the burn you get from using these. Thanks again for posting the video for these. I was not disappointed!
Awesome to hear Robert! I've noticed you do build up a tolerance, but still going to be a staple attachment I'll put on and take off indefinitely. I'm actually now eyeing the next level up. Appreciate the enthusiastic comment!
Interesting, as this is the first time I’ve seen Fat Gripz used on a Total Gym. I have a pair of the blue that I have had for 15 years and got away from using them as I preferred using the barbell without the Gripz. Now that you have featured the use them on a sliding bench trainer I will definitely give it shot. Thanks for sharing.
I use it with bands it will feel like a dumbell. For example on the loop band if you put a fat grip on each end and wrap around yourself to press there is dumbell press and dumbell fly. Same for back, shoulders, arms, leg exercises will feel like a dumbell used on loop bands
I have used fat grips for the past two years. They are great. However, I find they are best used for pulling and static exercises such as farmers' walks, for example. I pick one day out of a week to focus on forearm and grip training. Great pick for an attachment. I hope they continue to produce great results.
Nice clip Mike. If you get a chance in a future video, how about trying them on the ez curl bar attachment? Also perhaps explain why these grips provide a benefit beyond that provided by the handles without the grips. Keep up the good work!
I just finished my Tuesday TG Session with the "Fat Grips", my forearms exploded. The Fat Grips will be a part of my Total Gym and Weight Resistance workouts. Thanks for the info.
Mike I’m wondering how much these grips help with the chest press? It’s the exercise I’ve really struggled with on the TG. I bought the chrome handles on your recommendation and they were a game changer! I’m quite tall, and as soon as I started using them I stopped straining my arm tendons and got a better muscle burn. I still struggle to get a good burn on the chest press though. I added the extension cables from my ez curl bar and that also helped a bit. Would theses grips help even a little bit with the chest press? What about the inverted lateral deltoid raises? Btw I absolutely love the shoulder press inverted lying on my back! It works all 3 shoulder heads at the same time. thanks for that and all the other great videos. Rob
I've experienced problems activating the chest with pressing too. I feel my chest the most doing a low to high pull fly variation with palms facing up. Also pull overs and dips feel good.
Thanks Rob for the question and comment. I don't know if I'd say these would be good for chest activation. It does feel different and a more unique kind of press, but I'd say the chest engagement with this machine is really about finding that ideal position, exercise, and form that fits you.
If you have dip bars, turn them upside down and put them at top holes on the highest setting on the sliding bench. (Holes where you would put a wing bar attachment() Run cables underneath the dip bars. I use my ez bar with a wide grip and lying flat on my back it feels as close to traditional bench press as i have ever felt. Mike posted a video of this. I will say that there is a sweet spot you gotta find when doing that. Your arms can go too far forward or too far backward. With practice i have been able to dial it in to the feel of free weight bench press. I will also add that since this is done on a cable, the lift itself is pretty close to free weight press, but bringing your arms down it tends to be a bit fast, so i try to control it by letting it come down as slow as i can.
@@RobertCombs70 thanks that’s a good idea. I tried something similar with my wing attachments but the cables kept sliding off. If I get some dip bars I’ll try it.
I will definitely try these. Due to palm ligament trauma I was forced to get creative to protect my hands. So I actually used a pool noodle cut to size to help protect my hands. But....they seem thicker than I like so I am so going to try these.
@@hybridresistance Does the original fat gripz develop gaps at the actual gap after extensive use or does it remain closed when not in use? I bought another brand but after 2 days of use the thing has a small gap like it doesn't close all the way when not in use.
For feedback data, 2 pieces of measuring equipment worth purchasing is a hanging weight gauge up to at least 600 lbs max that has a “max freeze digital reading” function to actually measure the resistance in various exercises in different incline levels, added wt. plates, etc., I believe this would be worth the small investment to supply comparison data between various models/makes of Sliding Board Gyms - “SBGs.” Also a good quality/high rated Hand Grip Dynometer / Strength Gauge would also deliver real data feedback on muscle strength / generated tension to record ongoing results of exercise workouts, - not to mention a well corresponding accurate data of muscle strength according to several university studies. All are available on Amazon at reasonable prices for the important feedback data given beyond just subjective “ body feel” of the exercise parameters. Keep up the great work on SBGs !!!
Female with thin forearms, should I start with the fat grips one instead of the pro? Was hoping you would review them!! thank you! I am ordering. As much as I appreciated your forearm exercise video, and I did start to implement some of the exercises but I didn't keep up with it. the thought of adding extra exercises to my routine is stressful, lol. Hoping these help my little forearms.
Get yourself one of those floating noodles from the dollar store cut it in the length of a grip and you'll have a lifetime supply for less than 2 bucks
Sorry for the late response. I'm confused on what bars you're talking about. You should however be able to put these on any straight bar / handle though.
Something like this in my opinion would. Also these are some of the best grippers out there amzn.to/3IiH3F0 But it's just like anything else, you more your practice it, the stronger it will get. But even as I mentioned in the video, simply using a TG will help as well.
Hey, just a thought why not ask the guy from Huck If you could be a distributor for him, I think it would be a win-win give you some more income source and help him out as well. Just a thought.
I have emailed him a little about being open to collaborate in some ways, but he's never gotten back to me. So he's either not interested or just busy.
I could see that, but I'd question the stiffness / durability of the foam. Also I'd be a little nervous of it slipping off working at the inclines of the machine.
Update from when i bought these because of your video and i gotta say definitely a nice difference I may buy another pair just so I don’t have to keep taking them on and off my different attachments 🦾

That sounds so much easier than opening/closing delta links.

Thank you, these are great. As well, I'm wondering where you got the chrome handles?
Here you go Total Gym Attachments (cheaper than amazon): www.tkqlhce.com/click-100402910-12845302
Thanks, I always learn something new from you. I have recently been suffering from wrist pain when using, do you have any suggestions that would help.
Hi Carol. Are you getting it because of or since using the Total Gym?
Great video. Got to add those to my TG. Do you have a link for the blue swivel connectors on the end of your cables?

I really like that cable machine. You can do every exercise on it. 😮
Very true, that's how I fell in love with them.

I'll check those out. Thanks brother!

I'd probably start with the "ones" in your case first than work up to the others if need be. Happy you liked the video and thanks for watching.
My question is about the Total Gym. Do you find you get better pumps when you do upper body exercises inverted? e.g. curls
I honestly mix it up and don't notice a huge difference from both positions.

Nah that sucks, tried that and doesn't have the same feel, garbage
I've done it it works well nice feel a practically free.
can you put the fat gripz on the lengthways bars on the total gym, and use to do incline push ups? i find the raw bars too uncomfortable
Are you talking about the weight bar attachment, or the actual TG support bars?
@@Tomasquo the total gym bars

Haha. I hear you and I keep buying and testing stuff that I think you guys might like. I appreciate all the support Ash.
Will the fat gripz hurt the handle on Total gym?
It shouldn't at all.

Use FAT GRIPZ along With ARM BLASTERS and your arm workout wilp be another level
